I could see some loose synergy between Oppression & Gearhead.
If Gearhead is active at the time Oppression is activated, then the killer either gets a notification from survivors failing the difficult skill check, or if the succeed it, their location is still given away by Gearhead anyway.
This is just theory of course.

Hm yea definitely, I can see potential synergy with this perk and alot of other perks like surveillance as well. Honestly seems like a decent perk, and a more fun to use and interesting ruin.

Oppression seems like a much better Surge with the caveat of a few trade offs. That’s not to say Oppression + Surge would be a bad pairing. I think that could be fun.
But whereas Surge may not always proc, Oppression will always have an effect once it’s available.

Yea, we'll have to see if the cooldown is the right length but seems pretty neat and definitely a unqiue gen regression perk.
Still waiting for the day surge looses it's cooldown or works on all attacks...

I think the cool down is pretty fair. It’s ALWAYS effecting 4 generators, until it’s down to the last 3. So every time it’s proc’d it’s either causing 4 (or all if it’s the last 4 or 3) to regress OR challenge survivors with a difficult skillcheck, that they’re not going to be prepared for unless they’re running Alert or OoO. It’s like a very mild Ruin/Overcharge hybrid that the survivors can’t cleanse.
It would be a broken perk in a 3 or 4 gen set up with too short a cool down for both the time it saves, OR the wealth of information it gives.

And yet, even if that skillcheck counts, the tracking from Gearhead is still absolutely awful to the point where an entire meme build will fall apart just because it doesn't tell you when the survivors stop their repairs.
My hopes were slightly raised til I remembered that. Also, I don't think it would work because I'm fairly certain that "Difficult" skillchecks are considered "Great" skillchecks.
Personally, I'd rather run it with just Surveillance.

Yes it does. The gen only remains highlighted yellow until a survivor stops the repair action, or if the Gearhead timer expires.

When did that change happen? I used that perk a lot on live release and any gen getting worked on stayed yellow for the full duration, even when no survivors were on it at all

That’s a bug.
Gearhead has always operated (meant to anyway) only highlight yellow upon a successful good skill check, and only until the Gearhead timer expires or if the survivor(s) stop repairing those gens. It’s why I’m starting to prefer it over surveillance or discordance
