It would be a little too off-brand for my tastes, but I'd get over it if he was fun to play as and against.

I think it might fit. Shao Kahn is a sadistic over lord, and could fit with a scarier redesign.

Sure, it's definitely not "Hello Kitty" off-brand... I'd get over it... but I would say MK is a fighting franchise, not a horror franchise. It has more in common with Street Fighter, and I don't think anyone would really go to bat for M. Bison being a good fit to follow.

The Mori would be great! "Finish Him/Her" appears on the scream, followed by Shao Kahn laughing and "Shao Kahn Wins. Fatality!"

Darth Vader was in Soul Calibur IV and that acually worked. DBD charcters are in MK so why not (Leatherface etc.)?

Not unless we could kill him in game considering he gets his ass kicked at the end by what would potentially be the main survivor wanted in the game from that franchise

I second Goro over Shao Kahn.
I could see them both fitting from a design standpoint, but I don't think I could suspend my disbelief seeing Shao Kahn and his mega-ego submit to the Entity's command.

I had the same idea few days ago and decided to google it for the heck of it just to end up here. Well I definitely could imagine him using his hammer as his main-weapon, his mori/fatality would most likely feature him crushing a survivor skull with said hammer.
