SWF Decency

This is a positive post, based on recent matches as I've been starting to learn the Nurse on Xbox. Honestly, I'm not great. I doubt many are when starting to learn the ropes with her, but still the best I've had was 2k and 1 ruthless killer result.

I've had quite a few matches against Red Ranks and, well, you can guess how they turned out! But I've been really happy to say I have only ever gotten positive words of encouragement and respect for trying Nurse. My 2 most recent matches even had a survivor who deliberately sacrificed themselves at the end of the game to try to prevent a depip for me!

We hear a lot about killers giving survivors the hatch, but rarely do we hear of survivors deliberately sacrificing themselves, and I just felt with a lot of negativity about SWF, that actually the loud minority of bully-squads drown out the decent majority of SWF, who are as keen to give a bad killer a chance to learn those difficult killers and encourage them to keep practicing.

So, cheers to you guys!

It's always nice to see positive survivors for a change. I actually had this last night. I've been off-on trying to learn Nurse and decided to give it another go last night. Anyone who goes against me as Nurse will see instantly, you'll go free because I'm awful at the blinks. The team was a clear SWF and I thought I was in for hell, but no. I noticed they went from playing great to suddenly making basic mistakes trying to help me learn. I let them all go and one, who turns out to be a nurse main, even gave me tips and said I was really good, which was flattering since I know I wasn't great. But it's nice when survivors acknowledge that someone may be new to said killer and try to help you practice.

Most SWFs are just people trying to play with their friends. And more often than not, they can be pretty nice.

However, I also think that there is a minority where playing with friends can also bring out toxicity in players. Especially when they are encouraging each other to be toxic.

When I'm in a SWF and matchmaking gives us a newer killer I activly discourage toxic behavior from the group, saying things like "just leave" or "hey obviously a newbie be nice and do gens/totems". Since none in the group I often play with are even decent loopers I doubt a young killer is learning much from us.

But I was that newbie once, and know what not to do to make them feel worse about one or no kills and hitting them with every pallet then the blind and the like. Basically take the foot off the gas a lil. And get tfo at the gates.

Had a new Legion last week, got maybe three hooks that's it, and we all meet at an open gate and make a nice neat pile of out items (two acquired in-game) and walked out, no tping or nothing.

Small things. It can be done people!

There's a connection here. Survivors feel entitled to survive. They would have cried and called you pathetic for using a strong killer if you'd have won the match. They're trying to groom you.

That's nice. I love connecting to other players positively, it's always more satisfying than winning the match. Back when the hills were bugged I'd always help survivors out of it and run away. When the hooks were bugged, I once had a survivor stop wiggling when it wouldn't let me hook them; but at that point I kinda felt bad actually hooking them 😂
