no new maps until the graphics update is compleated?
i was kinda hoping we would get a new map or at least a new variant of ormond this patch but i understand if there was not enough resources for that. my concern is that we won't get any new realms or variants until the graphics update is completed in late 2021

I feel like they might do that. But then return to give Blight or the twins their own map. And maybe others.

I was so excited for graphic update but now im disappointed by no new maps.
I think instead of reworking two realms in a patch they should rework one and make a new one.

Pretty sure licensed chapters would still come with a new realm/map. And I guess we will see at least one before the reworks are finished.
other than that, invalid hope for more variations for the non-licensed realms with only one ore two maps. Ormond would have been perfect with this chapter.

Probably not, other then licensed characters. I guess it just depends on how many maps they rework. If I'm remembering rightly, the remaining realms that (probably) are going to be reworked are

The Game
Coldwind
Red Forest
And Crotus Penn Asylum
Probably others, but my memory is terrible. Most of the newest ones aren't probably going to be reworked.

They only reworked two because Ormond has onle one variant and it wouldn't make sense to give it a graphical update by itself.

honestly I'm absolutely in favour of stopping new maps development in order to divert all the man-power to map rework and (hopefully) optimisation. If we can have a decent totem spawn everywhere it would already be worth it.
I'm not a huge fan of how the breakable walls are being used though, but what can you do...
After all the last new map we got was Midwitch, which has the most horrible level design I ever seen since the Normandy Landing

I know this is off-topic, but if they reworked all the perks without adding new ones like they do with the maps now that would be amazing.

I'm not sure if words can express how deeply I agree with this sentiment.
For me, Quality significantly trumps Quantity, and I personally feel that there are still a LOT of highly unbalanced and/or unenjoyable maps in the game. I'd rather they improve existing maps to make them more mutually fair and mutually fun instead of adding in potentially-problematic (or mediocre) new ones to further pollute the pool.
We currently have 35 maps in DbD and I'd argue that only about half of them are in a pretty good state so far (which might even be a bit generous).

I can imagine the Blight map full of pustulas, the twins map as an old french town, it could have been cool.
The graphic update is very nice done but we ran same maps over and over and i just want new ones, more diversity. I know people prefer quality over quantity but i think dbd cant be perfectly balanced so im for quantity.

Oh so is Hawkins not getting reworked? I understand for lery's and the saloon and that but hawkins feels somewhat outdated to me idk.

That's something that only the Dev's really know. I would guess not, because it's an newer(ish?) map, but hey - maybe we'll be lucky.

I actually also made a discussion about this a bit ago but, personally, I believe we probably won’t be seeing new original maps until all the map overhauls are done. Licensed chapters are a completely different story though, those will most certainly have a map with them.

We're practically getting new maps with the graphics updates. Blood Lodge is entirely different than it used to be and Ormond is, for the most part, different as well.
