Devs, did you expect people to want to kidnap Viktor?
I feel like a lot of the limitations you put on him were to encourage people to get him off as soon as possible through any means, but it seems like the opposite is occurring where people want to take him for the entire game and leave with him.
So my question is what are your reactions to this? I can't think of very many games where something along the lines of "players want to kidnapp the baby sized twin killer" is normal.

Yeah, if you're decent in a chase there's really no reason to shake him off if shes on you.
And if you're playing with friends you can just keep him on to deny her power the entire match.
He should slow by default or drag left to right intermittently to make chases harder.

He should probably down the player if he isn't taken off in some sort of time limit. He is the best part of her, so I don't want some Survivor to steal the gremlin.

My experiences so far with someone taking Victor from me for the whole game has indicated to me that this works out in my favor fairly handily.
(Though I do think something should be changed anyways so that people simply don't get the option to steal Victor to begin with).

This is exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully they add something like it to her because right now she seems extremely weak to me, and the fact that you can literally play a game of kidnapper with it really shows how weak her power is.

Seeing how much counterplay the Twins have against them, makes me wonder how the devs test the character out before PTB. Surely they have a trial period, right? Or do they just finish creation, then immediately send out to the PTB.

We're talking a team of Dev's that not really the best at playing their own game (based off the few that play on Twitch). Also at the same time they play their own game for fun, they are not trying to find every minmax'd solution for new characters - Really the only real testing actually happens in the PTB and main game.

Yes, they DO expect players to kidnap Victor. It's a thing, as well as lockers locking Victor out of any play, that makes the Twins begin to falter power-wise.

Just pointing out, since I've seen it mentioned a few times:
If Victor had a timer before he caused Dying, that means using Victor will incentivize tunneling. Just tunnel the player with the BOSS BABY until they are downed by timer. If you make it so that the timer stops when the Survivor is running in an attempt to prevent this, you have Legion with Deep Wounds that can only hit one target with their power before needing to recharge it.

that would be a good idea, but i don't think the timer should go down during a chase so that Charlotte still has to work for the down rather than waiting for the timer to go down

I think the only thing they need to fix this is to have Killer Instinct on the survivor carrying Victor and replace the Hemorrhage status effect with Hindered so they can’t loop as effectively.

They were expecting Broken, and ridiculously easy tracking was going to be “scary” to survivors.

That’s probably not a healthy solution. Victor essentially becomes an insta down killer if it’s two survivors left but one is on hook or slugged.

Is it really useful to kidnap the gremlin? You can't do gens or heal, you're basically afk just to spite the killer who btw still moves at 4.6 m/s so it's not that they aren't a threat.

Unless I am misunderstanding how Victor works, Survivors can remove him while on the move with little to no issue, so there would be no worry of the Killer cheesing things to force downs.

It's even worse if the "kidnapper" runs OoO (in SWF with comms of course, because why not ?) The survivor can wallhack the killer the entire game.

M1 only killers vs 3 survivors on gens and one dedicated Looper/Savoir(The Kidnapper can still unhook people) generally speaking favors the survivors.
Remember Killers are balanced around their powers helping them in the game as only having 115% + M1 isn't considered to be strong enough to win games.

Just spit balling here, I'm not very good at taking all the mechanics into account so feel free to point out the errors of this idea. But could the survivor gain an exposed status effect after not removing victor after a certain amount of time? It's needn't be a long expose time, but just enough to incentivise getting rid of him asap, knowing Charlotte is coming?

Maybe I'm not getting something, but why should I care about the best looper in this case when the best looper is also prohibited from doing gens? You know how some people complain that RBTs don't slow down the game enough? In this case, hostage Victor represents the one Survivor choosing to do boxes forever.

The difference is someone doing boxes can't go for saves all game and also amanda has more powers then just a single bear trap.

I feel like the downside of not doing gens heavily outweighs the upside of still being able to unhook.

Victor will down the survivor in 20 seconds if not removed.
Victor's aura is visible while he's on a survivor.
Victor Hinders the survivor, survivor can't vault, drop pallets or rescue anyone from hook.
Devs, pick 2 out of 3 of these and make them happen. This killer is a joke.

I never thought about kidnapping him until I read about it in this forum lol I will miss PTB twins so much, its so fun to go against it right now, when they get rid of the kidnapping, hiding in lockers and yeeting the baby wont be the same. :(

The killer also loses nearly all gen pressure from losing their power along with gen speeds being slowed less because of the kidnapper always getting the save the other 2 survivors can just gen jockey without worry.

The Killer gets free permanent pressure from someone voluntarily not being allowed to do gens.

They also lose all pressure from hooks because if they have to go after the kidnapper then other 2 can gen rush them.

To be fair, Viktor gives her a completely new playstyle that has not been seen in the game. She has her weakness in chase as being no better than Trapper in chases, however, Viktor allows her to spread her pressure on the map without survivors realizing untill its too late. You can essentially facecamp with Viktor too as you'll get a notification from any walking or running survivor within range, being essentially the same power as Hag, but instead of teleporting your pressure from one side of the map, you also leave pressure on the map where you left Charlotte.
I do believe the transitions between them need to be faster, and I do believe Charlotte needs something extra when Viktor has left her body or her Terror Radius(my personal preference is amplifying the strength of negative status effects on survivors and reducing the strength of positive status effects on them), but people need to play around with her new playstyle before claiming she's weak. She isnt the strongest killer, but its foolish to call her weak. Remember when Oni's pink addon was considered the most useless addon in game untill wallhacker Oni became a thing? Which got a slight nerf recently due to the changes of Thana, but there are different perks that still achieve a similar result.

Really hope they do something though an m1 killer that can injure but not down with their power and have it completely stolen from them is not exactly a great release.
I like the perks this time though they're very strong in niche ways and not utterly useless. Mostly.

I think they should make it more detrimental to have him on you. Like give it a timer of like 20 or 30 seconds and if you don't get him off he downs you and runs back to Charlotte
Also they should have him hop off your shoulder when you jump through the hatch. Yay you escaped and now youre back at the campfire.... Oh no that frickin gremlin thing is still on you and is killing everyone at the campfire!!! Get it off!!!

Exposed wouldn't do anything because once victor latches on he injured you. Exposed is for one shot downs, i.e from full health to down on the floor.
My idea and other people's idea is that after 20 seconds if the gremlins on you and you haven't crushed him, he downs you and runs back to Charlotte

I love the "drag left to right" idea. If they could tune it so you lose control like a Killer does when carry a wiggling survivor, that would be cool.

Victor should not able to down Survivor, healthy or injured, Victor will just grab them and cause more effects than currently

I don't think Victor should down a survivor if he's on the survivor for a certain period of time. I get why people make that suggestion, but Victor is decent for slowdown. I don't think keeping victor on you is that beneficial for survivors. I feel like when Charlotte doesn't have Victor, she should have access to a different power. Something that helps with chase. (Kind of like how Pig has her ambush and the ability to kill her terror radius). Maybe instead of having victor cause the oblivious status effect (Keep blindness!), Charlotte has no terror radius while Victor is attached to a survivor? I don't know. Just a thought. (Maybe Victor could emit a terror radius instead)
Not sure what they could do with Victor's greatest weaknesses though. I don't think he should be able to be punted after a successful hit. As for lockers... it'd be cool if he could maybe keep the locker shut for maybe 10 seconds or something like that.

I agree she should have something else while Victor is on someone.
And it's not that keeping him is necessarily beneficial for survivors, it's that her power is so easily controlled by survivors and not by the killer. After you latch on to someone you're locked out of anything but m1. Not engaging or interesting in the slightest to me but eh.

I hope devs do not change Victor as he is since it is a very fun new game mode invented by Monto, keeping him for as long as possible and escaping (kidnapping) thru the hatch
this is like the "Berserker" or "VIP" mode in Gunz game, in which a player has some disadvantages but it is the protagonist!
A possible fix for this is causing deep wound status and auto mended once you drop him

While I agree that having Victor latched on forever is not beneficial to Survivors, I still think something should be changed to prevent a Survivor from having that choice to begin with because it is silly that a Survivor be allowed to deny the Killer from ever using their power (again, even if it is not beneficial).
