Do you guys rescue survivors when there is a mori in play?

Options

For me, I don't. Don't wanna be responsible for someone getting taken out of the game before a single gen gets done or they get tunneled and then moried and i'm responsible for all that

SWF or Solo, when going against a mori, you're probably better off sitting on a gen and waiting until second phase. Unless you are really close to the player. Obviously if the killer gets a lot of pressure you need to change your game plan up.

However, in practice, people often save on 1st hook (Me included).

If you suspect the Killer will tunnel right off hook, then the smart play is to leave them on the hook as long as possible. The rule of saving before 2nd stage does not apply vs. Moris. Very few people seem to understand this in solo queue. That or they don't care.

Only when I’m swf and someone dares me too. Or I’m playing a medic build.

Other then that no, not worth giving the killer another kill.

I save as soon as I can, but I'm at red ranks. If you want to try to focus down a red rank survivor for that mori and they're ready to take you on a tour of the map. Well. Grats on your 1 kill 3 escape.

...that said the mori-able survivor will probably not do anything gutsy the rest of the match.

Also just a brief tangent, but Mori kills your pressure because no survivors have to go in for the rescue anymore and the 3 remaining are free to do gens. If survivors are focused a Mori can hurt a killer more than you think.

I have played against killers that use mori only after 2 stage, so there is nothing wrong in rescuing when mori in game.

    If only... if only

Both sides would agree on Ebony Mories are powerful

Yeah. No point doing otherwise, not in solo que. Might take a bit longer to get around to it, but I still want to extend them the courtesy I would prefer.

That's assuming they didn't immediately suicide before realising it was a yellow one, that is.

If I think I can do a safe unhook, I go for it, whether or not there's a mori.

In that situation I just try to bodyblock for them as much as possible. Unfortunately a lot of killers that use moris just tunnel anyone the second it becomes available and will sometimes ignore you outright even when you've bodyblocked them into a corner.

yes i do, but i do safe unhooks if possible anyway, and that means the killer wont tunnel, because he is not near the hook.

Some killers with a mori play pretty fairly so I generally will always go for the save once its a safe save

It really depends on context. I always run Kindred so I can usually see what the killer does after someone gets hooked. If they start slapping the guy on the hook, face camping or just searching a really close proximity to the hook, then no, I’ll commit to my gen. If the killer leaves the hook area and it’s not a killer like Huntress or Spirit who can camp from afar, I’ll probably go for the save. I’ll also wait to see if the killer comes back and if they do, I’ll try to take aggro.

Killers play moris differently, so if they don’t seem like they want to tunnel mori the first guy there’s no point in not saving.

    I never play against moris.

Only if I have BT yeah

My perks and gameplay style are literally built for safe unhooks and quick healing, however I don't tend to run BT as i choose not to unhook in the killers face unless we have someone hooked during the end game timer. I use Kindred, so if i see someone being faced camped, no im not going to run in for the rescue, however if the killer isn't camping then sure, i'll utilize my build to get them quickly and safely back in the game, the mori isn't really a factor for me.

    Not really

of course always with bt and they should be using DS to locker DS ( even if is dumb is fine when the killer is tunneling out of the hook to mori that person, in those scenarios even as a killer main i dont blame the survivor)

I normally save them after I've done the gen I'm on or they reach the 2nd phase.

Any time I swf against a mori I get told not to unhook because most of the time it's tunneltown for the recently unhooked. From my experiences it's usually the same.

  • Member Posts: 2,533

I always try to unhook when there’s a mori. I need those points to avoid the de-pip and we all know the Killer won’t be doing many hooks

  • Member Posts: 287

No, just because most killers with moris tend to play a bit toxic. I will occasionally save but i know he'll just tunnel them.

  • Member Posts: 127

Look at this way if u save them they will get moried if u don't save them they will die on hoom either way there's no proper way of saving anyone in camping situation with mori

  • Member Posts: 326

I'm still going to try and save if I can. I also run borrowed time, so it helps.

  • Member Posts: 188

Yeah I agree if the killers hang around the person I won't go in for it unless I have bt or something. It's better to must bang out gens cuz they waste so much time trying to get the tunnel on the hooked guy.
