Sabotage is now just a meme strategy that's not worth the hassle.
With hooks so close together (no need for iron grasp) and the need for a coordinated group of at least 2 sabo survivors, It just seems like such a low probability strategy. It doesn't seem to be worth the hassle anymore.

Yes,sabo is extremely garbage right now and not worth your time.
But i think it's fair that you need a coordinated effort in order to make it work.
The killer worked for his down so you should too for the sabo

Nah. Solo sabotage is absolutely viable now. Never used to be. Sabo and Breakout is incredibly strong but is map dependant. Dead Dawg, for example, is incerdibly dense with hooks.
But most of the older farm, macmillan, junkyard maps work great.
Take a hit and throw on Dead Hard to bait another and you can easily get a Solo carry save. And if they drop them? Congrats you've just wasted all that time the killer spent chasing. Throw on WGLF or Buckle Up and you can even get a run back revive in a chase while the killer breaks a pallet.
Learn the timing of the perk to break a hook, hide behind or nearby it and get the break just as the killer has spent 4-5 seconds reaching the hook, if they don't instantly drop them then they'll be gauranteed to get off the next pickup if they crawl decently enough away or someone takes a hit.

Saboing is still pretty good even without a hook offering from survivors. I've had plays where I've taken Breakout as a solo player, along with a toolbox for saboing a hook and managed to get a couple saves. There are times when the survivor is too close to a hook to get the save, but it is possible.

that's assuming that you're going for a rescue and not just wanting to use the sabotage mechanic to force the killer to hook a survivor away from the gen you're working on (how I liked to use sabo).

honestly, seeing survivors sabotage makes me happy (except when it's on Ormond and I'm already annoyed). The survivor usually ends up dying for it and I get two slugs out of one. From there, I can usually get all the survivors down at once.

I saw rivers of tears when devs put saboteur in the ptb. Killers said it was OP, broken,... Same with the new perks in this ptb.

Some people are just too hungry for that sick sabo or flashlight save. I've started using lightborn and agitation to bait the flashlight saves and hit people trying to sabo and those two perks have been more valuable than any perks considered meta lol

I tend to use fire up over Lightborn because it usually means the survivor messes up the timing anyway, but about Agitation: it comes in so much more handy than Corrupt Intervention or Ruin ever would.

A killer being denied hooks too easily and too frequently will just have the player base leave in droves.
That said though, Sabo is not totally unviable. I play solo and even solo I’ve managed to help team mates wiggle free by running both a tool box and Saboteur (purely for the hook aura reading. I’ll still use a tool box for the sabotage). When paying attention to the killer it’s easy to determine which hook they’ll initially go for, and then the subsequent hook they’ll try to instead go to after Sabotaging the first hook.

I just think that sabo is,like going for flashlights saves,wasted time that you could have spent on gens.
And whenever i try to sabo,the killer just goes for the other 20 hooks that are near :(

It can completely stop a killers momentum if the survivor being rescued is on death hook, usually from being tunnelled to death.
Sabo has a place in the game, just needs to be intelligently assessed whether it’s the right thing to do, and what are the chances of success depending on where I’m personally positioned at the time of the down.

Good. Every single base game mechanic doesn't need counterplay. Removing the killers ability to hook a survivor just isn't nice to deal with as the killer. Sure, drop the guy with Unbreakable next to the girl with WGLF to chase the girl with DH and a jungle gym. That'll teach them pesky survivors.
