Tryhard Killers

When did I say my metric was what the devs consider ok and punishable? DCing to get out of a game you don’t want to be in is as much of a lame move as bringing an ebony mori and tunneling off hook because you’re bad at the game. Both ruin the experience for people. The Devs used to say Clown was powerful and people just weren’t good enough with him. The devs think OoO is perfectly ok because the people that use it die often. Don’t throw around “false equivalence” without knowing what it means because it isn’t a false equivalence. They’re perfectly comparable and your only response is that the devs punish one and not the other.

That’s not true. Another guy over here who only plays one side.
You have to tryhard as killer and you have to tryhard as survivor. You gotta sweat in both roles.

Having to fight the Mori or someone who Tunnels doesn't ruin a game. There is still a game on tap. Having someone disconnect ruins/destroys games instantly. Equating them isn't appropriate on any level. It doesn't matter if your standards are the same as the DEV or not. A match can still be played and won against a Killer using a Mori (or tunnels). We see it every day. A game that goes from a 4v1 to a 3v1 in the first minute is near impossible for the Survivors. Please explain how YOU equate the two?

Tunneling someone off hook with an ebony mori ruins their game... Then the next person you do it to... Then the next... Then you kill the last on first hook. I’m sure they had a super fun time and didn’t feel at all oppressed by the op mechanic BHVR has failed to change. There’s no game with an ebony mori on a decent killer. You will get downed and hooked once. If you can down and hook someone before the first two gens pop with an ebony mori you’ve won the game. If you bring an ebony mori and somehow lose that’s pretty impressive and I applaud you. A survivor DCing and a killer bringing a Ivory Mori and immediately killing one of the survivors is the same thing btw. You don’t even need an ebony mori. You’re turning the game into a 1v3 right at the start of the game. It’s just the killer doing it instead of the survivor. The same scenario crafted in different ways by different sides. Please explain how the two aren’t comparable at all? I’d really like to hear the logic behind this.

I play both actually. I literally run Deliverance, Diversion, and Head On - on my survivor because I don't need meta perks to do well. I just have to loop the Killer till everyone else finishes gens, and if the other survivors are not doing gens. I just hide and wait out hatch. It's not hard to learn how far your scratch marks are, or learn the Killers fov. With friends I just don't run perks at all, or I run no mither because why the f@#$ not~
For Killer you require to take perks just to balance the game, and even then you have to sweat because the game is grossly unbalanced with map layout. Too many pallets, survivors don't even have to try to conserve pallets anymore. Everything is about looping now, there is no unique chases for Killers anymore. Steadily maps are being updated to no longer have mind games - it's just if the Survivor knows to run the loop right or not, and if you know the loops - you're immune.

And if a Killer ever breaks an unbreakable wall - that's a gold mine for me and the infinite loop they just opened up.

If there's been a DC it's not always exactly "tryharding". If someone disconnects at 5 gens and I'm not in the mood to farm I'll usually just aim to get everyone dead asap so I can get in a game with 5 players. Not the most fun thing ever ik but take it up with the dcer.

I play Solo que and I get out (and the team wins) against an Ebony Mori all the time. Sometimes you don't but it isn't an automatic win for the Killer.
1 -
... but that’s not true. You play rank 20 survivor with friends. Gotcha.
I was talking about -actually- having to sweat, solo queue red rank survivor where you mostly get Spirits, Pheads, Freddy, Bubba and occasionally other killers with ultra rare addons like iri head huntress.
Another thing that gives me the impression you don’t know much about this game, you said “survivors don’t need to try to conserve pallets anymore”. That implies at some point they had to do that? When? Are you aware looping is at its weakest today compared to ever before?
“There is no unique chases now, everything is about looping”. When was it not about looping? In fact, looping is less viable now than it ever was in the past.
“Maps don’t have mind games now”. In fact, maps have progressively gotten nerfed for survivors for years now. They are still survivor sided mind you, especially maps like Ormond, some farm spawns.... but at the same time new maps like the Demo map and Phead map are utter trash as survivor.

Infinite loops don’t exist for years now.

Ok so let’s cover this real quick. They were bad at the game. Ebony moris on any competent killer is an automatic win button. The problem is a lot of killers who are actually good at the game don’t bring moris because they got good at the game for a reason. I’d just rethink your stance on moris if you’re going to have such a hard one against DCing when the two bring about the same exact problem.

They added a breakable wall on one of the new reworked maps that you have to break every time because it brought back an infinite lol
0 -
Only time I ever tryhard as killer is if I'm desperate for rank or an achievement. And even then there's only so much you can tryhard if youre running three wraith teachables :pepehands:

1. I don’t know if you play rank 20 matches with friends. Solo queue against only Spirits, Pheads, Bubba’s, Freddy, Iri head Huntress, Nurses and Onis, yeah you have to sweat.
2. Pallets have only been reduced and looping nerfed since release. It has only gone in a decreasing curve, the strength of looping. So saying things like “it’s now only looping” / “survivors don’t need to conserve pallets anymore” doesn’t make any sense. If anything, they could easily not conserve pallets in the past and now they have to.
3. Play against me (or against any red rank sweaty tryhard killer) in solo queue with your diversion and you’ll be put out of the game in 2 minutes.

Infinites don’t exist anymore. The window gets blocked after 3 vaults, add bamboozle and bloodlust while you are at it and they might only get to vault it once.
Let’s be a bit knowledgeable about the game and the terms we use. It might be an annoying and time wasting spot, but if you say an infinite that doesn’t exist.
0 -
Bro why you running bamboozle. Also, you can literally leave the window loop somewhere else twice and run back to it so it doesn’t block the window and not all killers can build up bloodlust effectively. Let’s be at least a bit knowledgeable about the game and the terms we use please. Either why you just break the door and it ruins the loop lmao
1 -
Infinites exist, that's the whole point of breakable walls. Pallets have been increased acrossed all maps. They've only reduced the pallets on Lery's and to make up for it they increased the distance between hooks, and reduced the amount of hooks. I only run this build as solo and do just fine thanks. I probably stomped you plenty of times if I faced you by the sounds of it.
Honestly getting sick of the liars on the forums. Survivor mains got nothing left to try and gaslight players into getting more buffs since BHVR started doing more communication with the public - they are now retoriting to just straight up lying to the community hoping we don't follow streamers, news feed, and bhvr updates 🙄 . Nice try buddeh

"Play against me (or against any red rank sweaty tryhard killer) in solo queue with your diversion and you’ll be put out of the game in 2 minutes."
Have been doing that for a while now. It's fun being sole survivor and running useless perks while everyone else is rocking ds/unbreakable.
0 -
Are you twelve? I have difficulties understanding you.
Anyway, as I said, infinites don’t exist.
If it bothers you they use a window more than once, bring Bamboozle. End of story.

Actually, no. I don't have to rethink anything. These things are not one and the same, or even related. One is legal, and the other is not. I'm on record, many times with my suggestion for how I think the Mori should be reworked. I would be surprised if we didn't agree on how. That, however, is moot. What you are doing is called "whataboutism" to try and justify an illegal behavior. I think you need to check yourself because you are only wrecking your own position.
The only thing in this thread that matters is someone disconnected early and left the game in a mess, i.e. a 3v1. What the Killer did afterwards is irrelevant entirely. The game was ruined by the person who left the others in the lurch. There is no justification for the behavior, period.
1 -
Yeah, no. Don’t give people who might be newer to the game the wrong impression. If you play solo red ranks, You -will- sweat in this game or you -will- go out fast.
0 -
No, I’m not doing whataboutism. You misused that just like you misused false equivalence. This post was about a killer try harding with an ebony mori after someone DCed. If anything I’m more on topic than you were this entire thread. The actual only thing that matters in the thread is why killers try hard because that’s why the thread was made. Both actions are done selfishly and end up ruining others experiences. Your only reasoning being that daddy BHVR punishes one and not the other is pretty weak when they’re very out of touch with their own game and it’s players.

RIP your reading comprehension skills. Against slower than average killers it’s an infinite until you break the wall as you can loop out of the infinite and then come back to it without the entity blocking it and without them getting any use out of bloodlust. Also, using bamboozle instead of one of the many other better perks to avoid breaking one wall is pretty silly.
0 -
I'm not saying I put in zero effort and then just strut out the exit gates anyway, just that I don't run meta perks or exhaustion perks that often and after adjusting to doing without them it's really not so bad.
0 -
I am more or less a killer main, and pips are totally irrelevant for me. BP gains and overall enjoyment of a match are way more important. And I'm surely not the only player thinking like this. Your claim that pips is all for killers is just plain wrong.
1 -
You are the one going to the forums to cry about non existent infinites and walls. I don’t care.
And I’m not judging whether there’s more interesting perks or not. That really depends on the killer and the map. For example, in the Asylum, bamboozle guarantees you don’t constantly run around in circles like a headless chicken. Also, I wouldn’t carry Bamboozle as a Spirit, but I would as a Wraith or a Clown. It really depends on many things.

I'm using it entirely correctly. I pointed out that the PROBLEM of the 3v1 was created by the person who disconnected, and not the Killer. And yet, it was the Killer who got a thread created about him/her. I pointed out the silliness of that. You also, seem to want to focus on what YOU find objectionable about Killer behavior, even though they are entirely valid and legitimate. The things are apples and oranges. That's it. As long as you keep trying to come up with excuses for why people disconnect, you are moving further and further away from the problem.
The chain started when a person disconnected early. That was the problem, and yet the thread wasn't made about that. It became another Hobby Horse to complain about Killers. That is what I've been pointing out since the start, and you still want to make it about other things. Do we agree or not that the issue, the event that this thread is based on, started with a QUITTER?

I literally didn’t cry. I just told you they reintroduced one. I think breakable walls are a gimmick that should have stayed on Dead Dog Saloon and only Dead Dog Saloon though. They’re either pointless to break or completely necessary.
I use bamboozle on Myers and that’s about it. Buttery smooth floating through windows.

So we went from “it’s so easy lol” to “well after adjusting and getting used to it, it isn’t so bad “. Sometimes we do get carried away in the way we speak.
It really depends. For me personally I have chill matches. The killer might be incompetent or the map spawn is really good/team mates don’t suck too much and I got chased for 1 minute maybe and the rest I repair and leave.
But that’s not most matches. In most matches, I have to tryhard, loop, rush generators and if I make some mistake the game is thrown.

No, you did whataboutism by making the post about DCs instead of what it’s actually about. Try Harding killers. This one specifically used an ebony mori and tunneled off hook after someone happened to dc. The DC isn’t the subject of the post. I also didn’t excuse disconnecting. If you can quote where I said it was ok to DC I’d love to see it.
I pointed out the hypocrisy of supporting a killer tunneling off first hook with a mori while vilifying DCing. I called the both bad. You seem to only think one is bad because BHVR told you it’s bad.
The thread isn’t specifically about the quitter. The thread is about a killer who still tried their hardest after a DC. The OP wasn’t even trying to vilify killers for trying hard. They were asking why they do even when survivors clearly aren’t trying to win.

That's right. One behavior (disconnecting) is an offense that gets a ban. The others are endorsed as valid by the DEV. I don't have to excuse the Killer behavior, because it isn't an offense. It is just the game. If those things were against the rules, you and I would be on the same page. But they aren't, and thus we aren't.

You know there’s things that communities as a whole frown upon, right? Like in every multiplayer game. Not everything is “devs said this it’s true”. Especially not in this game because they say way off base things and make way off base changes. I’m sorry but BHVR being for or against certain play styles means a bunch of nothing to most people. I’m going to call killers who use moris to win lame and bad at the game. I’m going to call survivors who DC lame and bad at the game.

Well yes, sometimes we get carried away enough to completely rephrase the words and tone of what someone said so we have a nice little bundle of straw to attack, don't we my dear? Sometimes we have to put on some patronising airs to make our witless arguments seem a little more compelling, don't we?
I'm English, you're not going to out-condescend me :P
0 -
Is that a region-locked English exclusive ? Interesting.
Anyway, I think we made our points.
1 -
Again, if you're one of the "rare few gems" as mentioned in my comment then congrats to you.

I'm more pragmatic. To me there is only what is within the rules and what is not. Do I use a Mori? Not usually, unless I'm hunting Smurfing Squads or doing a Rift. I consider them counterproductive to my BP and Emblem advancement. However, I don't question what builds and offerings the Survivors bring. You will not find one post from me ANYWHERE in 1700 or so I've done that complains about Survivor OR Killer choices which are legal. That is none of my business. Do you see my point?
I'm not going to grief Survivors or Killers for making legal choices. If people want to make threads to the DEV or about the DEV, that is their business. That is who arbitrates the rules. But blaming other Players for using what they paid BP for and is within the rules, is weak at best, rude at worst. It is also hypocritical. I don't think you and I disagree on much deep down. I've read enough of your posts to know you are a pretty good egg. You and I are just opposed here because I don't believe in giving Players grief or shame over doing what is within the rules.

Yes but when you put it like that it sounds really bad lol
We were a 3 man with the other BL player being a random. The guy with object has played with us for over 6 months and never spoke once lol we've actually joked about how pointless it is him using it. He was doing the BL challenge and that was his 4th game trying to do it.
I had been drinking the past 2 nights before and the last guy had been up over 24 hours 😂 he couldn't have faced us at a better time. Plus another friend we normally play with was away getting something to eat.
We didn't know it was Otz till after the game. It looked like we were stream sniping but we weren't.

Yeah, I don’t put all that much stock in the rules the Devs have laid out. Especially when it comes to obviously broken mechanics. Moris, certain addons, and items will all get a scoff out of me. I don’t even think a dc is 100% bad all the time. I assume it’s very enraging to watch the killer offering not flip over and then to get one shot by an iri head infantry belt huntress or to be new to the game and get ran for 5 gens as wraith with predator by a rank 4-1 because the matchmaking doesn’t work. I personally think it’s entirely reasonable to give people grief over what they they decide to use within the limits of the game. Especially when things are so obviously broken. It’s a bit like using cheat engine to twink a character in dark souls. It’s technically legal and you can’t get banned for it, but it’s a pretty garbage thing to do.
0 -
Yeah, and that is where we will have to agree to disagree. I think your beef is with the DEV and it is them you should direct all your grief and/or shame. Me, I'm just here to play the game. I don't spend a lot of time complaining about other players unless they are disconnecting or Smurfing (and I work on punishing that myself).
1 -
When it comes to something like this both sides do it and if you claim otherwise you're lying.
Also it ain't semantics when the two statements mean distinctly different things.
