Just played against an... odd killer?
If somebody knows what they were trying to do here please tell me, I'm so confused. I just started playing survivor so this might be something that happens often and I just don't know it but-
We were playing against the Hillbilly.
He would keep getting us down, leave the body to hit other survivors and never return to pick up the bodies. We would keep helping each other up even when he had plenty of time to come and collect us. Sometimes he would just stand there and stare at us and let us escape without even trying to hit us. I think he downed me three times? But he only went to hook me once. He also trapped me on a porch for awhile... But then hit me and let me go. So that was fun. There was only one person that ended up dying and the rest of us escaped but even then he hardly tried to stop us from doing so. The round went on so long because he would chase us off from generators and such, but never actually hook us.
Oh and once he picked me up and purposefully dropped me three times. Obviously I wiggled free since it boosts your wiggle bar 25%(?) every time they drop you.
Anyway, does anyone know what he was doing?

Farming, he wanted to get bloodpoints instead of play the game to win, most likely trying to get his archive challenges

he probably was trying to slug you guys but failed

Seems like he was farming.

I played against a Demogorgon once that was running a slugger build (with things like Knockout, Sloppy Butcher, etc).
Its goal seemed to be just to down other players as much as possible so that they would eventually bleed out without needing to be hooked. Didn't strike me as trollish, just as a big mixup to how that particular trial had to be played. Not something I'd really want to see on a regular basis, but it was a weirdly refreshing twist of a match.
As far as matches against killers who were presumably trying to de-pip go, that was probably the most enjoyable one I've ever played (since DG still played as normal aside from just not hooking anyone and sometimes hiding slugs in the grass).

I've literally done that exact thing on Billy like a week or so ago and I do that exact thing on other killers as well. I personally do it just to get archive challenges done in a single game. Since I'm not really playing normally I'll just let everyone go and if I see someone is going to bleed out I'll pretend I can't find a hook. In the event that I down all four then I'll just pick one up and let them struggle off so they can tell I'm not going to kill them and then I go back to working on whatever the challenge was.
I'll sometimes do this as well if I want to farm some bloodpoints but don't want to pip up too quick. Sometimes I'll do it for fun or if I'm working on a trophy. It's impossible to know the exact reason why they did it but I assume it's because they wanted to do the archive challenge in a single game and was planning to let everyone go since he wasn't taking the game seriously.

Thanks for everyone that left a comment, that clears a lot of things up! It was a fun round and we all got at least 25k BP, it makes a lot more sense as to what was going on though.

Probably farming for challenge.

As soon as I saw this thread I was like "Wait a minute I wasn't playing earlier."
Oh. He's just a farm boy trying to farm.

Probably just messing around. I do that sometimes after a slew of bad match ups. Load in the next game, down a few people. Maybe trap someone in a corner. You know the usual. Make the survivors slug race at the exit gate - good times.

I play like that quite often. Challenges, dailies, just messing around. I like for the survivors to enjoy the match, not be so miserable that they just want it over.

Either farming or grinding the challenge

Either trying to get a challenge done or trying to avoid pipping so he would face less red ranks.
