How can I revert the config files to original ones?
Hi there, I was messing up quite big with the config files to make the game more fluent for my low-end laptop, and now it makes my CPU super hot because of that!
I know there is some Steam menu where you choose to restore the original files
Could ne of you guyz hook me up wit sum uber tutorials to do so? thxs

You go to your Steam Library, right click on Dbd -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files, that should restore the original settings.

I mean, the cpu is just working, its not going to break or something, they will throttle down in ghz if it gets too hot so if you are worried about the cpu actually trying to do a good job, dont be.

have u ever heard about the "component wear"? electronics working at too high temperature degrade more and more til these break, not to mention, CPUs as well, so I dont wanna put to the limit my machine with DBD to shorten its life ~~ got it? :(

that....really does not go for this sorta thing at all...at all.
You could run a cpu at max temp all day and it would not break till LOOOONG after its completely obsolete.

source? I believe you are wrong! I think my CPU will die WAY faster if run at 92C daily (running DBD) than at 65C without it

what cpu do you have?
and like I said, its been build in for a while now, this is also the reason why overclocking is a bit less important these days:
Cpu's are designed to thermal throttle if the temp exceets the specs, meaning they will automatically downclock themselves to reduce the power consumption and therefor temperature.
You will never destroy or even harm a pc component by just using it, only when you start seriously overclocking and allowing higher voltages then spec could you possible mess something up.
Here some random mobile cpu from intel, it has a
Tjunction of 100 degrees, everything below that wont hurt it and everything above it will make the cpu throttle until its under it again.
Note that it even says "max temperature allowed", not even that that's the max it can handle, but probably close enough that intel set the limit there.

@BioX theoretically that is true but in practice I doubt the throttle measures for an old CPU likme mine (i7 3690Q) will work like a charm!
better prevent not reaching over 90C with DBD!

In general though if you go tinkering with configs it's always a good habbit to copy the original somewhere. Just to be on the safe side

Right well I had to edit one word on my post and the entire thing did not show up anymore....
Anywho, cant find that cpu for some reason but what I wanted to link was this:
This is a random processor on the intel archive website, it has a Tjunction of 100 degrees, this does not even mean that at a 100 degrees it would get damaged, that is actually probably more around 115 degrees, its merely the limit that intel set on it and the cpu will not exceed that, it will clock itself down to reduce power consumption and therefor heat.
A cpu running hot, especially in a laptop where you have very little room to tinker with anything serious like voltage for overclocking, is not a problem...apart from if you have the laptop in your lap and it gets uncomfortable ;).

2 afraid 2 edit, just found out your cpu does not start throttling until it reaches a whopping 105 degrees celcius.
