Best ways to avoid getting tilted?

I've recently come back from a break after getting extremely [BAD WORD] with the game.

Currently stuck in red ranks and I'm extremely rusty when it comes to playing killer.

What are the best ways to avoid getting tilted besides not playing the game?

Just facecamp the first survivor when you hook them, it takes the edge off of you.

That's not really the advice I'm looking for.

I'm looking for advice on how to get in the right mindset to not get tilted.

Hmm pour yourself one drink per match and you'll at some point either not give a f or you'll just rage quit. Both strong options.

Some people have terrible advice OP. If it involves anything to do with intentionally making other’s games less fun, developing a dependency on substances, or otherwise harmful to yourself and others, just ignore it. Personally i like to play a killer i havent tried before, or run meme builds so that i go into the match without the expectation of winning. One you get to play around with and learn a new killer, the other you get to have fun without trying.

Just play the way that you deem fun. Facecamping when I occasionally get tilted works for me.

I think that this video helps because he explains that you are in control of 100% of the things you do among other things, but that is just me.

Pretty much anything anyone suggests here is going to be an "easier said than done" sort of thing for you.

    Example:

How to not get tilted? Well, learn to relax and stop caring so much!

Easier said than done, right? I know, but life in general is just way easier and nearly stress-free if you can train yourself to just not care so much, or more generally, not take anything too seriously. This doesn't mean never taking anything seriously, it just means knowing when it's appropriate and beneficial to take things seriously, and when it's not appropriate or beneficial. If something is stressing you out, it's not beneficial and you need to make a change of some sort. Stress is a literal killer, it ages you.

As far as the game is concerned, my very basic suggestion is to try and enjoy the little successes. Try not to apply so much importance on "winning" with a complete 4k team wipe and learn to be content with simply making the gamer harder for them - damage generators, getting hits on everyone, getting a few hooks in and laughing as they scream, etc.

This won't be an overnight change in mindset but with practice, you'll get there. Hope this helps :)

Honestly, just set yourself different goals in your matches other than 4k everytime (e.g focusing on bloodpoints, learning different killers etc.)

Don't play Killer. Period. The role is a job. I've been playing Survivor so far today, and been having a great time.

I really shouldn't have to avoid playing a certain side just to avoid stress. But despite complaints about how stressful killer is BHVR has never made a statement about it. So I guess it's never going to be addressed.

Lol yes OP. Follow this advice. The best way to not get tilited as killer is to play one you've never played before, run bad perks, or just don't ever believe you're going to win. Great job.

Playing some feel good music I enjoy lightly in the background of my matches helps me to a certain extent in remaining mentally sound.

That was not my intent. Not believing you will ever win is different from not obligating yourself to win. EDIT: Also, you’re only mad because you were the one who told him to drink after every match and I threw shade at you for it.

Sometimes having the companionship of a supportive friend watching the match and voice chatting with you is helpful, as well.

Just ignore them, it really is that simple.

Well it's kind of hard to ignore how stressful killer is. Plus my anger more comes from how unbalanced the gameplay is rather than from the actions survivors do.

I would recommend getting a good sturdy base for your monitor/TV and checking your floors with a bubble level to find the ideal spot to play. That should help.

I just assume I screwed up something which lead to my loss. Blaming myself or saying the the person im going against is good makes me a lot less tilted then saying that one perk is op. Its like what Otzdarva does if you watch any of his videos

Learn to control your emotions...? I mean, in all honesty it's one of the best things anyone can do, even outside of gaming. It's not too hard, either, it just requires you to pay attention to yourself, and sort of keep an eye on your own behavior. You will catch yourself getting angry about things, and if you make a note of them you can stop yourself from getting angry at the same htings in the future. It takes lots of practice, and it's forever a challenge, but it will make you a better - and happier - person in every way in the long run.

Another thing that can help is learning to see everything that happens in life as 'phenomena'; like, when you hit your toe it hurts, but that's what's supposed to happen. Or, when you throw a ball, gravity pulls it to the ground. It doesn't frustrate you that these things happen (at least not all of the time). If you can learn to look at bad things that happen as just 'phenomena' you won't respond to them emotionally anymore.

I just dont. Its hard to explain. I decide I'm not going to, then I dont. It helps that personally I don't take the game seriously in the slightest. If I pip, I pip. If I de-pip I de-pip. This comes from years of not playing games seriously. Play with the same mind set you wouldplay Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley! Years of chill games like that, and non-serious games like AQ3D makes it easy for me but if you play thoes games a bit and then come back to this you'll find it easy to channel.

Also play with cross console on and more matches than not you'll be up against people who can't chat.

Lol, IMO killer is WAY less stressful and way more fun than survivor. Suvivor you're on the defensive, hiding and sneaking, and worrying about dragging down your team... Killer I can just kick back, smack a few suvivors, relish the thrill of the chase and eh if I ######### up, I ######### up, they can't really fight back. If they try to go on the offensive they just waste time and put themselves in unproductive danger. Its a game where you get to hunt and torment 4 other people, a never-ending feast of play things! And much to my, personal, glee THATS the more popular side! So its like I have a personal, unlimited supply of prey to hunt!
