Blood Warden is the most disgusting anti-fun perk

I was surprised and excited that we even managed to do more than 3 gens on Midwich, let alone open the exit gates, and then this scummy perk comes into play. The idea of it can be fine, but the duration is just bullshit.

######### killer? No worries, just slug someone and here's a get out of jail free card.

You realise it works of opening exit gates right, you can 99 them if you don't want to trigger BW. Or just leave, you can see killer picking up the survivor so leave before that or don't open gates exactly before killer hooks.

Its an empty perk slot for 99% of the game and easily counterable.

    lol

This perk is entirely counterable. In fact, I'd say it's one of the easiest perks to counter in the entire game.

Lol stirred up quite the crowd.

I never said it was OP, the conditions are very specific and not necessarily easy to accomplish, but you can plan ahead and just slug someone and wait for the exit gates to open.

And the "just exit before he hooks hurr durr", don't you dare tell me you go into every game and take into consideration that the killer might have Blood Warden, and don't you dare tell me that when the exit gates open you all just leave immediately every single time because you think the killer might have Blood Warden.

The perk is underwhelming on open maps as you can just hide somewhere, but on closed maps like Midwich and Hawkins it can be game over for the unsuspecting survivors because of how closed up and isolated from the rest of the map the exit gates are with very few options to actually go to before the killer gets to you.

Again not OP, just a lame and anti-fun perk for people who get bullied a lot.

I do. It's actually extremely easy to do.

don't you dare tell me that when the exit gates open you all just leave immediately every single time because you think the killer might have Blood Warden.

Depends on the EGC timer. If the timer is low enough that Blood Warden may seal the deal, I will certainly leave.

Or... You know. Just leave. "Hurr durr." There is almost literally no reason to stay in the game once the gate's are opened, other than to waste the killer's time. If you were staying to try and help the last Survivor out, fine - but if the Killer kept slugging after you should've realized what they were doing. If I don't know what 4 perks the killer has, then yes - I will assume they have Blood Warden, especially if they are slugging a mysteriously long time. It's not that hard to figure out. This is a perk that punishes Survivor's for staying in the game for too long, not a perk that rewards bad Killers. Most Killers use this in memey end game builds, or for the "Kill x amount of Survivor's during the Endgame Collapse" challenges. Not "because they get bullied a lot."

99% gate, congratulations you not only took precautions against Blood Warden but also gave the remaining Survivors time to heal back up and possibly plan a final rescue without the threat of the EGC.

Well tbh i always 99 the doors, if someone doesn't do it I always hate it but accept it.

Also whenever I play survivor I look at what perks the killer has.

I just keep count of the perks I notice during the match.

Whenever I miss 1 perk I always keep in count they have noed or blood warden.

Also you can almost every time look at the playstyle.

Killers that run noed and/or blood warden have a not optimal playstyle because they rely on 1 of those or both of those perks.

Hell if i get stopped by blood warden, i can only laugh and appreciate that person managed to throw me off 😂

    So an unfun perk?

    Not even in the slightest.

A guy shared his opinion and thinks that blood warden is a ######### and unfun perk on small maps. Shouldn't be that hard to comprehend, even with a couple of braincells.

Run distortion, if you lose a token when you're in the exit gate area then they have bloodwarden

  • Foohy
    Foohy Member Posts: 26

All you have to do is 99 the gates with the killer carrying someone to a hook 5m away from you while you're in a dead end exit gate room.

Sorry if my casual brain didn't think of Blood Warden after such a tense game with escape almost withing my grasp and found it to be a ######### play after doing so well on the dumbest map in existence.

Guess I'll just dodge Midwich from now on.

I was in a game with friends where something like that happened. I was already dead by then but I remember laughing myself silly when I realized we were getting hit with Blood Warden. Partly because the game was on Switch where you only get BW in the shrine, so it was that much more unexpected.

And the killers who complain about the bloodlust experiment are the ones who think the devs are survivor favoured.

I've been hit by BW only a couple of times, ever. It's such a rarely run perk, it just never is a factor. I HAVE seen teammates get caught by it, usually because they were teabagging in the exit gates when someone was being hooked for their death hook, and I had long since left (because, why stay at that point other than to be a poor sport winner?).

The couple of times I have died to it, as other people have said, I've laughed that someone actually got it to work and moved on to the next match. There are plenty of Perks to be salty about at times -- this isn't one of them.

Blood Warden is a situational perk. That isn't the effective. If you realize the killer isn't picking up that person before EGC you should realize what's happening. And I thought I'd never see someone say Blood Warden is more unfun then Noed.

"Don't tell me to go into every game thinking about Blood Warden"

Killers need to go into every game expecting Decisive, Borrowed, Exhaustion Perks, etc. Why is it so terrible to expect players to expect NOED or Blood Warden and play around them?

Blood Warden is INCREDIBLY easy to counter too:

    1. Leave immediately
    2. 99% the gates if there is a survivor on the ground
    3. Just stealth until BW expires. Assuming the EGC timer was not half gone already, Blood Warden will end before you run out of time, just wait for the gates to open agin

It's an opinion just a surprising one. I've never heard anyone say Blood Warden is worse then NOED

You could literally just wait for the second the hook procs and be able to open the gate and get out. I do this often.

Not a scummy perk and not a "######### killer" perk. Its a one time use you get at the end of the game if survivors don't properly play the end game or don't leave. If you get caught out with that its purely on you and your team

If you can't just instantly tap open the gate as soon as they hook the Survivor, then you didn't 99 the gate.

Blood Warden isn't really anti-fun. I find endgame builds entertaining and different from constant ruin + undying.

I used to complain a lot about other Survivors 99ing the exit gates because it meant if I was downed near there I couldn't crawl out and after a couple matches of that I was fed up and if I saw a gate almost open I'd just go and open it, then I got a game against Bloodwarden that resulted in a 4k and realized exactly why the gates get 99'd it's a very rare perk to encounter but now I always 99 a gate or I open it completely and gtfo if I have an escape challenge that's been driving me nuts. It has the stupid easiest counter in the game that nearly every high rank Survivor instinctively does to ensure if it's in play it won't get value or to prolong the amount of time to get a rescue and back to the gate for the escape because EGC is on a timer.

No joke I died the other day thanks to an unexpected (obviously) cruel limits. I'll have to make a thread about what an anti-fun crutch perk it is when I get round to it.

This is one of the weirdest survivor complaints I've ever seen.

The last time bloodwarden proc'd against me was in 2018 lol

I disagree, I think it's super fun when I get the team sitting there T-Bagging that only learns how they done screwed up and screwed up bad when they turn around to leave :D

If for some reason BW gets nerfed I am holding you responsible. I suppose next you'll want to nerf monstrous shrine?

I completely respect your opinion, so long as you keep it to yourself.

Ah some killers still run it tho.

I had a game vs freddy 2 days ago where I was hooked while they pre opened the exits before I was even there.

I got hooked close to the gate and got unhooked, so you guessed it and ran straight to the exit.

Only to find it blocked off 😂

    Absolutely did not expect it.

Used ds there as dh failed me as usual, ran around a bit till it was gone but he got me before I could escape.

Luckily he forgot the hook where he hooked me the first time and was just able to wiggle of and escape with only 1 sec left.

Have to admit, it was tens for moment but fun nonetheless.

The moment I ran there after the unhook and my thoughts were "well #########, we're not getting out anymore" and just laughed

Ez to counter perk. Besides that, I see a lot of people starting to panic and laugh randomly when they run into it.

Even had some games as afk endgame Wraith with NOED + BW to jumpscare with out of nowhere OP pressure. A team was finally running with all 4 towards the gate, 2 of them dead harding into the warden and dying to EGC there. In chat we were all laughing together.

So to sum up: it is just your opinion
