BLOODLUST TEST BOYCOTT

I shouldn’t be having to wait 5-7min to get a survivor match at 11am. Matches flow like Willy Wonka’s chocolate river around this time. They’re instantaneous up until around 4-5pm. Switching over to killer and I’m getting lobby’d-up immediately. This is all highly irregular and only noticeable this “Testing” weekend. It begs the question, “Coincidence?”

Seems doubtful that it is.

Killer mains (or frequent killer players) aren’t beating the system by sitting the majority of this weekend out of their everyday killing duties by switching over to survivor.

Devs aren’t feeble and stupid like many are making them out to be.

They collect excessive amount of data, even in mass forms we aren’t aware of.

The info they receive on a regular basis will show the influx of survivors and drought in killers this weekend, amongst other irregularities, to help form proofs for their “test.”

If anything, the players intentionally opting out, or flooding a side they rarely play with all the time they would have put into playing killer are potentially shooting themselves in the foot if they were hoping for a victory in their “Preserve Bloodlust at all Costs” cause, should this really be happening.

Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Possibly. I will say that I play this game the same time every day, for the same amount of time, so I found it interesting that I noticed this during this testing period.

Maybe it really isn’t how it seems.

Hope not, because I’m looking forward to the results of this test being legit and not forged in any manner.

I just wish they would incentivize playing the lesser played side with like a shiny icon saying you get a blood point boost if you queue up as it while queues are lopsided. Sucks when I just want to play some games with friends at night and survivor queues are like 6+ minutes followed by another minute or two of loading.

The instant killer queues and being able to lobby dodge SWFs or keys followed by being in another lobby instantly is pretty sweet at the same time though (incredibly ironic statement following my previous paragraph, I know).

Ugh, The late nite extensive wait times coupled with those SWF/Key dodge, in addition to the mori/ map offering dodging that cancels the match so everyone can go back and do it all over again is brutal.

Oh, I'm deliberately boycotting this weekend. And I never play survivor ever but today I played some matches and got some rift challenges done. I'll play killer again tomorrow after the test is over.

From what I can tell, the community has never been good at boycotting. Changes come about, people say "We should boycott!" and queue times remain the same. Usually a change in queue time happens because one side is easier than the other, so players switch over. That's been my experience, anyway. Events, Bloodhunts, and Tome challenges make a difference, but changing Ruin didn't. Killers may have tried playing this weekend and found the experience frustrating, so they switched to survivor or a different game. If players aren't having fun, they have no obligation to stick around just to be a free guinea pig and/or make sure others still have a game to play.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm sure some are boycotting, like the above poster, but this community is disorganized and can never agree on anything, plus most players aren't actually on these forums, so I doubt the change in queue times is due to a deliberate effort.)

I'm still playing, because infinite-tier-1 Mikey never knew what Bloodlust was, anyway.

I would have played more killer this weekend but I finished the killer tome challenges and only have a bunch of Survivor left so I played a few rounds to get dailies done but switched over to Survivor to get some of those out of the way but my only time to play was peak hours and in Central US region I had 15-20 minute queue times followed by being matched with rank 20s while I'm rank 5 against rank 13 killers. Add on the mori dodge for 45 minutes if lobby simulator and I said "screw it, I'm done with dbd until Monday when things should be back to normal.

I'm still playing and gathering data. if anything I'm playing more than normal. Yesterday was my survivor day, today is my killer day. I will say however that the killers in this game have been frustrated for a long time (and rightfully so imo), they probably just don't want to deal with something being weaker on their side right now. I've also been hearing a lot of killers having very negative experiences without BL.

I'm doing about the same in my killer games I'm testing right now but I am noticing a difference, but my survivor games were definitely easier.

It's like that because killers get bullied on a day to day basis.

There's never a entire day where I've had fun and not dealt with super rude trolls.

Yeah it happens in survivor as well but it just happens WAY too often as killer.

You have fun and people belittle you and call you bad at the game - but for killer it's harder simply because they can kill and survivors can't. ( They will with the next killer though lol. )

I highly doubt it. Not that they collect such information, but that they will be able to use it with some small measure of competence. While they have done a fine job making a fun and beautiful game, they have shown that they cannot read data if their livelihoods depended on it.

I mean, due to the reduction in killer players it should show the devs that bloodlust is still kinda needed. They should look at why killers don't want to play without BL, which is because of bad map design and loop chains.

(Expecting a certain content creator fanboy/girl to say "killers need to learn without BL and git gud")

Personally, I'm only playing deathslinger, like I normally do. I still most certainly feel a change though, I feel like chases against good survivors are taking a slight bit longer. I think there will still be enough stats for BHVR to take away from, not like it'll mean anything as majority of their stats are flawed in one way or another.

If anything this test shows that BL isn't needed and some tweaks to the maps instead is more than enough.

Haven't noticed much if any difference by playing as Trapper, deathslinger, blight, demogorgon, wraith, Billy, legion nor doctor. Only slight annoyance was with huntress but that's because survivors burnt the game offering twice out of the three games I played as her in high ranks (purple red, mm sucks anyway, as always).

The way I play I barely ever got BL1 for longer than just a few seconds at best, don't remember the last time I had BL2 and especially BL3.

When not playing, been binging few twitch games, noticed similar experience. The more experienced the killer player the lesser impact it had on them, to being unnoticeable.

There still are few map tiles that are problematic, but removal of bloodlust will more likely speed up fixing these tiles, as it will be easier to see how broken they are.

On the other hand, playing as a survivor was much more relaxing than before. Not having to worry about a killer getting high bloodlust just because he chased someone else and switched to you after 40 seconds of initial, uninterrupted chase and you bring nowhere near any pallet, because someone wasted all of them.

I'm happy they decided to test it, as we can finally start seeing better game changes, such as bl removal, less/more pallets on maps that need them. Window tweaks, removal of the failure that breakable walls are.

5-7 minutes for survivor at 11am? I've been playing alot, and I don't see that long of a wait.

Are you solo, 2 3 or 4 man group?

I know mmr is broken, but are you red rank?

It just seems like there are other factors.

When I played survivor I exclusively got top tier or chase based killers. Didn't see a single Micheal/Pig/Ghostface or anyone that gets hard countered by pallets. And I had a bad time with some of those killers when playing myself. I had to dedicated my entire build to anti loop.

  • TragicSolitude

? I mention the Ruin change, which obviously happened. I was saying there was this whole "All killers should stop playing!" response online but there was no boycott reflected in the queue times. Meanwhile, the game has an event where one side has it easier than the other and suddenly queue times are crazy long.
