Ideas that can help the game. (This is just a discussion for anyone's ideas for the game)

I enjoy this game a lot, I've played from very early on starting with ps4 to Xbox and finally PC where I started back up to recently. The game has evolved many times to fix and even add things to make itself better. Obviously there are many more things that can change for the better. I just have a few ideas off the top of my head to talk about.

First- I feel like endgame chat should be a thing you can turnoff or something similar. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some conversations with people I play with. But there are people who play the game and take it way too seriously at times. When I first started that endgame chat either made me feel great or horrible, didn't take long to get used to it obviously considering how people act so it doesn't bother me at all anymore. But for the new people or people who don't like the trash talk and slander I feel it could be beneficial. People get upset with chat and kinda stop playing the game altogether which I get.

Secondly- I really enjoy the maps of the game, no I will not be talking about getting rid of indoor maps. While I do agree I'm not the biggest fan of them they have there place in the game. I will however comment that some maps and too many versions of themselves. Easy example is the Preschool. There are 5 variations of this map. Personally that is way too many variations for any map. Minus slight changes in layout they are basically the same thing. 3 matches in a row I got 3 different versions of the map. Now I like the map to an extent, but I barely noticed any major differences. Yes the Farm has multiple maps but they are different from each other. So maybe just pick the best maps considering they are reworking maps atm and combine pieces of them or just get rid of a few of them altogether.

Side Notes- I didn't talk about balance or anything because I know that many discussions have already been posted for those and didn't want to talk about things that are always up. I thought maybe talking about 2 small changes instead would be a better thing. Yes I have my own opinion own some bigger changes like killer reworks so some killers get used more but tbh, haven't fully thought those through yet and maybe I'll post a different discussion for that.

Overall- If you sat through and read this I commend you and hope you have a great day. Kill those survivors and outplay the killers you wonderful people.

They have to nerfy the generator and the cure. Because in addition to the survivors only doing gen rush, they have a very quick cure, both alone and together. I can't take any more matches which has at least 2 faces to prove and finish a generator in 25 seconds. That's in every game, it's just gen rush, gen rush, gen rush. And there is a face that says killers are very stolen.Stolen yes are the survivors, only they suffer buff and killers only suffer ner F in all aspects. The survivors have better perks, most maps are much more privileged for the survivors, in addition to what I said, it has a faster generator and healing now. The game needs to be balanced, which is not, that way they will only want to play as a survivor and it will take a year to find a match, so crap that it will tar to play killer, since by the way, since by the way they are the favorites of the creators and developers of the game

You can close the end-game chat. Look for some little arrows and they will let you hide it, and it will stay hidden until you click it again.

Preschool is sorta weird. It was "reworked" into many different versions from what it was originally, and it's still like that. The variants are more different than the normal randomness you see in map generation, as even big structures like buildings are in different locations on the different variants.

The two things I see more people whining about than anything else are, tunneling and camping, so, even though I don't personally care about it, the devs should probably address it in some minor way, and 100% don't mind if they do. My thoughts in general on this are that tunneling and camping only happens when you have 1) a griefer, or 2) an inexperienced new player that doesn't know any better, so, there's only so much that can be done.

Personally, I don't think there is much that can be done to stop a griefer as they won't care about any penalties for whatever they're doing (unless the penalty outright makes the killer unplayable while doing it), so, that's a tough player to counter. New players will eventually grow out of the tunneling the camping strategy. As they gain more experience, they'll eventually learn tunneling and camping is not in their best interest as it wastes a lot of time, and in addition to wasting time, camping is also super boring after a while. I've been in their shoes (new player of almost a month now), and with a lack of experience, perks, not knowing the maps, strategies, plethora of perks and add-ons, etc, this game was pretty overwhelming for a few days and at times I felt forced to camp as it was the only way to get a kill, but, I pretty quickly grew bored of it.

    So, what can be done?

For tunneling, I think an obvious deterrent might be a passive debuff called "Tunnel Vision!" It's all in the name basically. This will be a debuff that gradually reduces the Killer's FOV the longer a chase goes on. So, basically, the Killer is going to have to call off the chase because they're not going to be able to see very well at all. Now, the devs would have to somehow be able to distinguish between actual tunneling happening and the killer simply being within range of survivors for a long time - you wouldn't want to punish the Killer for legit being near survivors and just not being able to find them, or, for doing other things like kicking gens, laying traps, etc. So, I'm not sure how exactly they'd regulate this debuff to account for all of those situations, but I'm sure they could come up with something.

For camping, lets come up with another passive buff/debuff, this time in relation to the hook and call it "Dead Focus" - the Entity requires peace and quiet to focus on sacrificing the hooked survivor, and thus while the Killer is within a certain radius of the hooked survivor, the hook progress is greatly slowed, and when outside that radius, the progress is sped up slightly. In addition to this, if the Killer remains, the Entity begins to force them away with another debuff, we'll call it "Obsessive Devotion," which results in visible and audible distress on the Killer, who suffers bloodshot eyes (pulsing red haziness and veiny vision on-screen) along with an increasingly loud heartbeat, basically making it difficult to see or hear around you until you leave the radius.

These aren't perfect of course, but just starting points that I think could be workable. I think to solve the tunneling and camping, you have to implement something that will make those strategies unplayable (this helps against griefers), and, makes it obvious why it's happening (so that newer inexperienced players aren't confused when it happens and can learn how to play).

I made posts about them, but nerfing pop further and increasing the # of gene to stop 3 gens.

I think two of the most helpful additions to the game would be something that the DBD community has been asking for years: quality matchmaking and a practice mode. Trying to practice while being expected to compete does not make for a good experience. Nothing worse than getting stomped over and over until you get marginally better. BHVR won't even let you hop into a custom game by yourself against bots. If the mobile team can do it, there's no excuse why the devs for main game can't do it.

  • Thank you for everyone that has posted on my discussion. I highly agree with to ability to at least test out things in a private session. When I play a killer that I don't know I feel like I'm just gonna do bad. I wish there was a way for them to allow you to test killers you don't own yet by yourself. Like a sneak peak thing. Yes I know the PTB allows you to test out the newest killer but not everyone has that luxury. If BHVR actually wanted to increase sales possibly that could help because wouldn't be so concerned about buying DLC and wasting money. Yes you can refund sometimes but it's just a hassle. I know licensed killers are more difficult for that because of how rights work.
