easiest way to pip up?

I am at rank 3 and have been for about a week now. I keep getting so close to rank 2 and then depipping all the way just to get the pips back and start a never ending cycle. I can never find a good team and randoms let me die on first hook. What do I do man?

Play for yourself and do what you can for yourself.

Do gens, unhook (at least 2 I believe), heal teammates and get into a chase.

2 of everything is my baseline.

Kinda had a feeling it was something like that.

I personally only play for the chases and every gen I can do or unhook or heals is extra for me.

The only annoying part is when you have a chase if a few minutes and there is 1 or no gens done

I think the worst part is when the killer never hooks anyone and your altruism plummets... that sucks

This is exactly why solo sucks.

No concept of team, it's all me me me. Gotta get my pip, ######### my teammates.

Its a shame, and no wonder killers prefer vs. This, instead of swf that is actually trying to win the game.

If you really want to pip up as a survivor and are struggling with team mates then you need to really focus on your own game, I only play solo right now and run a different build to compensate. I've got We'll Make It on to try to keep my team mates alive as long as possible, and Deliverance so that I can hook myself and don't have to rely on anyone else, plus Inner Strength so that I can get myself healed quickly if necessary.

Be extremely altruistic and do gens by yourself or do a lot of gens with someone else. You can usually consistently pip if you get 2 safe unhooks and a heal or two. I'm currently at rank 5, so it might be different for red ranks as to what you need to do to pip, but it's probably only just get chased for a little bit as well.

To get to Rank 1 really all you need is to keep playing the game. You don't even have to be moderately good at survivor to pip up, just have enough second chance perks.

For Survivor to get to Rank 1 you just need to optmize on your second chances. From Brown to Purple Ranks your teams are basically going to be useless, so running a more selfish build is more ideal and if you are are 2 people by 2-3 gen's then find the hatch, and take it if the need arises (or the door furthest from the hatch. This is called the 2 door and hatch strategy). I reccomend running; Quick and Quiet / Dead Hard / Decisive Strike / Iron Will during Brown to Purple Ranks. You could also opt Quick and Quiet for Deliverance, because I find during this time if you do get hooked people rarely save each other from hooks. Quick and Quiet's main use is to be able to hop into locker's quickly to avoid Barbeque & Chili.

From Purple to Rank 1, your team becomes more reliable and the Killers become deadlier, so you actually need to rely on them - somewhat. Having a healthy balance between saving survivors from hook, to completing gens. While at the same time having a good idea of map layout, and loops so you can run the Killer for 2-3 gens. Basically what you want is that you are the sole survivor that the Killer wants to be able to ignore, but you know enough about the map that if they ignore you then the gens are going to be popping like poprocks. I reccomend running Borrowed Time / Dead Hard / Decisive Strike / Iron Will.

Also remember the 3 CHRS rule. CHRS (chairs) stands for Cleanse, Heal, Repair, Save. The four main things needed to get your emblems for survivor even without being caught/seen by the Killer. Cleanse 3 totems, Heal 3 survivors (3 health states), Repair 3 generators, and Save 3 survivors from hook. Fungoose calls it the 2 CHRS rule, but I suggest aiming for 3 of each as only 2 gets you through green ranks.

I agree, luckily I'm a solo where my team can rely on.

Unfortunately I get match with a lot who can't, so you will get better relying on yourself.

And tbh i don't think solo sucks if you can hold your own, i never play to escape and will sacrifice myself for a teammate if he/she can get out.

I challenge myself often to get to rank 1 without perks, with a no mither build without iron will.

It also depands if I bring a med kit on what build I have.

But it's always a gray medkit, other items I don't even use

That Is fair. I definitely think being able to loop well is the difference. Not only for pipping, but winning as well. Often 1 really good looper is the difference between 4ks and 3 man escapes.

Unfortunately that is my weakness. So I can't carry a team. I am a really good teammate, but if you are counting on me to pull agro consistently, we probably lose.

Thanks for teammates like you tho. You are appreciated when I find you all in the fog

Is wanting to pip a matter of pride? It’s not something that I’m interested in, and honestly I think it’s too easy to do. By the time the ranks get reset I always make it to the red ranks but I still suck at looping. I wish I could just stay at rank 8-10.
