Lets all list Incredibly simple changes with next to no dev time, that would buff killers/surviours.

Ie, What's your very simple change to the game, that would make a low tier survivor item/addon or perk, or lower tier killer/addon or perk far better. I ain't talking to huge reworks here. For example, clown having a bit of a touch up in the near future, or keys/mori's being touched on to rework them a bit.

I'm talking things that nobody uses, or that when people use, they get minimal value from. What would be your simple changes the dev's could easily tweak and add into a single patch, that would just hugely boost the viability of an item, addon or killer/perk?

To give some examples for both side's of what im looking for (though not neccissarily entirely balanced, i tried to stay within the limited development time, ie whats the easiest most simple thing to implement.)

------------------------------------

For survivors :

non perk specific change - being healed by another survivor grants you survival bloodpoints (encourages being healed, and also slightly discourages self care usage, as would be same points.) (Buff's survival bloodpoint category)

Sole survivor - When outside of a 32m range of other survivors, your aura is shown to them. When outside of 32m of another survivor, sole survivor lights up, and gives a 50% bonus to self care speed. (Turns it into more of a solo perk, allows other survivors to seek you out, without you seeing them, but allows you to be self reliant.) (Less a numbers buff, but an easy tweak)

For killers :

wraith - gain's full invisibility outside of 32m regardless of if walking. (like freddy.) (could also swap his decloak and reapparence durations, and addons, so its faster to uncloak, but slower to cloak.)

Challenge addon's - Addon's that give bonus bloodpoint's but nerf the killer's abilities (think speedlimiter as an example) give Bloodpoint bonus post-trial, or grant an emblem or experience bonus for their use - (encourages their useage more, whilst actually buffing the bloodpoint categorys, instead of filling them quicker)

Monstorous shrine - When a survivor is hooked, you gain the undetectable status effect for 16s, or until your next successful attack, or downed survivor. (Makes it similar to trial of torment, discourages hook camping and allows for more stealthy builds)

Baseline killer tweak - something that might want to be tested on a ptb first and more of a long term change requiring work, but still a simple change in practice, expecially if their getting rid of or planning to get rid of bloodlust - the killer starts the trial with bloodlust 3, which lowers over the course of 60-30s, or instantly to 0 upon their first chase/attack/down. (This would allow killers to find their first chase faster, patrol the map at the beginning of the game easier, without buffing their chase ability, or ability to down.) - Beast of prey could also play into this, granting the undetectable status effect at the start of the match, or renewing the bloodlust state upon a hooked survivor, (only to have it removed entering a chase or attacking)

Tldr : What's your simple buff's/changes to the gameplay of dead by daylight that you'd like to see? things the dev's could easily add next patch if there was demand. More so looking for this addon/perk/item/killer has this value editied - but if theres a full simple perk rework, or something you'd like to add feel free to add it! I'll try and see if i can add the most popular ones to this post, to see if it can grab the dev's attention

    Bonus BP from BBQ should be basekit for killers and Kindred should be basekit for Survivors.

    the bonus bp mechanics from Barbecue and wglf should be base kit to incentivize switching targets as killer and getting saves as survivor- also helps with the grind and gives freedom for builds

    obsessions should spawn no matter what so the killer cant tunnel without the chance of getting dsed.

    visionary shouldn’t have a cooldown and it should show the progress of the gens through the auras.

    For killers: gens regress more when you kick it and gates regress slightly when not being opened(can't 99 the gates) get rid of keys or make it so only one person can escape with a key


    For survivors: get rid of moris, give more points, decreased que times


    In all better matchmaking and easier adepts

    Getting rid of joke killer add-ons and replacing them with useful ones. Making DS trigger automatically instead of being a skill check. Making Dead Hard not let you pass through the killer's body.

    New Ruin is so much more powerful compared to old Ruin imo so I would hate to see that. DS change I like because flavor text

    Remove the sound of Pyramid Head plunging his sword into the ground unless he's in a chase. Why am I broadcasting "move slightly to one side" every time I try to get a hit on a too-brave survivor who sticks on the gen despite the pounding heartbeat?

    If it's your 1st time going against a killer it gives you a specific tip that killer in the loading screen. I'd like something of the same effect for killers, but instead for survivor perks.

    in what sense? Yes it is more powerful in the aspect that it auto regresses gens (When No One Touch's Them) I will give you that but the old Ruin was great in a way that it punishes survivors that are actually doing their objective sloppily. Be honest when it comes down to the last three gens the old Ruin was 10X better than what we have now.

    I considered the old Ruin to be the best teacher the game ever had. Now you can just sit on a gen and just hit checks in the past you had to be attentive and precise if you wanted that generator. Now the game just feels dumbed down.

    Make perks categorical by points.

    Im not quite sure the term, but for instance great perks like ruin and decisive strike would be worth 2 slots. This would severely limit irritating perk loadouts on both sides such as undying ruin (insert meta killer perk everyone argues over) etc. Or ds unbreakable (insert annoying survivor perk everyone argues over) etc.

    Basically by implementing this, both sides would have to think more strategically about their perks. Not all of them would be worth 2 points, only those groundbreaking perks to deter abuse of the perk and to encourage use of all of the other perks that are rarely used at high ranks.

    Gain 1 additional hook before struggling.


    OR


    Run at 4.4 m/s


    OR


    Rush Vault 10% faster and Silent Vault 10% faster


    OR


    Wiggle 50% Faster


    OR


    Crawl 40% Faster


    I realize some of these may be too strong like running at 4.4 m/s but I still wanna throw it out there.


    Being one shot all the time and not being able to heal as well as always grunting even though it's more silent is pretty crippling. The buffs no mither gives in exchange are just not worth it.

    No Mither is hard mode for playing survivor, it is not meant to be powerful or even useful.

    I do, I'm not even the guy who said that and wraith is fine. He is most effectively a hit and run killer. Injured go to another survivor, injure or if you're really sneaky wait for the one you just hit to THINK you ran away and uncloak while he starts to heal. No Addons necessary. Sometimes I throw on the blinding warrior addons to make it spicy (blindness or hemorrhage) but nothing else. Seriously, wraith is fine.

    One thing I'd like is more tips, like the ones on the loading screen. But make them available at all times. Not just on the main menu, but while in the lobby and stuff as well. Could even have some sort of community initiative where people come up with tips to add and vote on which are the best ones or something, in different "tiers" ranging from basic tips for newbies to more advanced tips that might even give more experienced players something new to consider. I sure know I'd love something like that when I started out 😄

    Trapper should certainly be able to carry two traps as base, even if he doesn't spawn with two traps. Just being able to place one and still have another or pick another one up at the start of the match is very handy. There's other often requested ones for other killers too of course, like Rat Liver on Demogorgon and such.

    Accessibility options as well, even though I find it kinda icky to call them "buffs" or "nerfs". I don't really care if people that aren't colourblind can use colourblind mode for an advantage or something, I'll happily accept that if it lets people with the forms of colourblindness that mess with DBD a lot play the game with less frustration. People can already make the game look like some borderline cartoon with NVIDIA filters and such if they want to anyway.

    Op, i really like your ideas for sole survivor and monstrous shrine. Two perks definitely lacking in usefulness ATM.

    If I could rework a perk like that for survivor I would go with OoO all survivors see the aura of the obsession while the obsession with OoO is being chased if the OoO user is not the obsession, the OoO user sees the aura of the obsession at all times. Creates an obsession with decreased chance of becoming obsession.

    For killer I would give some love to unrelenting for every new chase you start you gain a token up to 8 stacks every token increases movement speed while not in a chase by .2 and you lose 2 tokens when you down a survivor. This would make it so if you lose a survivor you've got speed to get to other places.

    I like how most of the people here completely missed the point of the title: "incredibly simple changes that would waste no dev time" and come with full perk reworks


    Killer: buff again mindbreaker, to 8 seconds

    Survivor: increase skill check chance on autodidact

    Decisive Strike: when facing a survivor with Decisive Strike a killer should tunnel hard -- you want to bait it out early so that they can't use it against you in the endgame.

    This is somewhat off topic but when a spirit is looping a survivor she flickers out of invisibility and full view for the survivor which removes her red stain and physical body for a brief moment. I understand this is just to add to the meaning of her character as she is a spirit but it is sort of a disadvantage when looping against one as it can be hard to tell whether she has doubled back or not. For this reason I think this should be removed.

    yeah no, if you're in red ranks, you got there with the current wraith, meaning it's not a problem. I understand that some killers are weaker in red ranks but still it's more of a player issue but I understand the frustration.

    I just want killers to have a bit more fov..just add shadowborn to base and rework it,, remove the fov from monitor..it'll be a really nice qol to killers

    Deep Wounds should give survivors a repair speed debuff to make it actually something you want to get rid of fast.

    2 things.

    1) Have Trapper either start with all traps possible on map (then restrict it to 1 carry after they've been placed) OR have all traps start in an open position so even if they spawn bad trapper isn't required to run the entire map to use his power.

    2) Make uniform collision hitboxes across all killers and survivors so loops become a skill.

    I do have to say, modifications that make things less random, new ruin is so much better. The old ruin relied on skill check appearences, which are random. It could be super overpowered or useless. Lots of things in the game are still like this. Autodidact for example. Super overpowered if you get enough skill checks, useless if you dont. Autodidact should simply be based on how many people get healed (maybe even if you dont jeal them yourself, so other survivor's altruition doesnt hurt the team.

    Finally, buffing surviving without friends. Survivors without friends should get kindred as a base. Swf should be forced to communicate. A lot of perks like bond, kindred, knockout, are made useless due to swf, which is unfair to lonely players.

  • After a survivors been hooked twice eliminate their ability to work on gens


    After a killer has chased you for 20 seconds (tunneling) they get a speed decrease and cool down for 5 seconds

    Here is my idea for a key rework:

    You have a key ring. You have to cycle through keys in order to open hatch.

    Green Key: 30 seconds

    Purple Key: 25 seconds

    Red Key: 20 seconds

    Add-ons are the same, but new add-ons will be added to reduce time

    Upon reducing a keys durability to zero, the key breaks

    everyone knows hes most effectively played as a hit and run killer but hes not even the best at that. GF can do the same thing but better: no movement speed penalty right before you get the hit,no "hey guys im here!" before you go for your hit and thats all wraith has and the only other way to play him is speeding infront of survivors to get hits before or as they preform an action and spirit can do that better too. hes just bad.

    in summary:

    hit and run wraith<hit and run ghostface

    speedy boi wraith<spirit

    and both of these playstyles need addons to do effectively

    basekit wraith isnt much better than trapper or legion and his playstyle is always more effective on other killers

    Chasing for more than 20 seconds isn't tunneling. What if the survivor is just a good looper? What if they're the last survivor? What if everyone else is just really sneaky and good at avoiding you? It's only tunneling if they're consistently the only person you chase.


    Also, why the heck would you have survivors not be able to do gens? Then killers could just hook everyone twice and boom, the round is over. Or heck, a few early hooks and the survivors are screwed.
