"Cybil Bennet" Skin is ABHORRENTLY Bad
Edit: I have since crossed out the details regarding her face, as in a recent update they made her look how she does in SH1. All my criticism other than that though still applies and is relevant because all they did was change her face.
As if Legendary/linked sets weren't terrible enough, this new "Cybil" skin is a new low for these skins. I don't even know where to start, there is SO much wrong with it, and I thought Lisa's skin was bad for looking nothing like the source material. Just stop making these skins forcibly linked Behavior, if Legion and the L4D survivor skins are fully customizable, then there is no reason why ANY skin should be a forced set, Legendary or not.
I'm just going to list the multitude of things wrong with this outfit, which you can see in the picture above (and feel free to click on it to zoom in if some details are too small to see).
Her face is completely wrong, she looks like Amy Poehler on crack. Her nose is too small, her eyebrows are the wrong color and the wrong shape, her face shape is completely wrong, and her lips are overly glossy.Normal Cybil has a little eyeshadow, but not to the extent that DbD "Cybil" does. It makes her look like she hasn't slept in months. Also, her eyes are the incorrect size, it looks really off.Her hair is completely wrong on whatever graphic settings you play on, not only is the color not her platinum blonde, but it just looks like a cheap wig.- Her waist is waaaay too low, and seeing as this is supposed to be a $15 FORCED LINKED SET you'd think they'd actually make it the right height. The lower pants means you could mix and match her cosmetics with Cheryl, but they don't let you swap them so why are they so low?
- Her shirt and gloves aren't right, you can notice how original Cybil's gloves and sleeves have a large space between the clothing and the skin, making them stand out more. Plus her gloves don't look like someone recolored her skin texture like they do in DbD. Her shirt also rolls over the edge of her leather pants ("muffin topping", if you will), which isn't a thing on DbD "Cybil"
- Her arms are super skinny for no reason. You can see in the left pictures how she has regular sized arms, but in DbD her arms look like a 9-year-old kid. It looks awful and it might because of my next point.
- They got super lazy and just re-used Cheryl's torso, not even bothering to change it. You can see the cuts on "Cybil's" arms, which are the EXACT same ones Cheryl has.
- Tying into the re-use of Cheryl's torso, you can see that "Cybil's" skin color at the neck doesn't match up (you might have to zoom in), only further showing how they didn't even bother to change it.
- Even though this is a "new character" she doesn't have her own VA or prestige. How can you restrict us with customization when you can't even be bothered to do the bare minimum in making this BE a different character?
Seriously, did no one care at all? The lack of quality control on this and all of Cheryl's other skins is ridiculous. Oh but this is totally worth $15 right? A skin that you can't customize at all, that doesn't have it's own VA or prestige, and doesn't even look how it should. I can guarantee you that if we had the ability to customize linked sets you would not see as many complaints; at least then we'd have freedom and didn't feel like we're getting ripped off for terrible skins that aren't anywhere close to being worth $10-$15. They also don't fix clipping issues like the devs like to claim, they still have multitudes of clipping problems so there's no reason why we should be limited in customization. They could easily make Legendarys and sets customizable, but they don't and that's bullshit.

bro there are like 5 other posts saying the exact same thing, i dont get whats with people tonight like ds and pop talk and this people are just spamming posts instead of leaving a comment on an already existing post

I'm not spamming posts, this is the only one I've posted. Not to mention I felt like I have more to say about it than what others have said.
6 -
Not worth defending them on this one.

I've read your post and I agree with what you've said cybil looks horrendous, she looks like a addict, the only thing I'm bummed about is that I kinda like cybil from silent hill and they trashed her here so badly but oh well I guess I'm saving my 15 bucks, maybe I'll order some pizza with that money

Why is so hard to recreate a ps1 model? They made Steve’s face spot on. I think they made Cybil ugly on purpose.

She looks like Karen.

I KNOW RIGHT??? How can they do so well on Steve and Nancy (and to a lesser extent Ash), but do so terribly on these 20-year-old models?

Big talk for someone who's pfp is Quentin /s

I know it's a joke, but this "Cybil" skin makes current Quentin look like a normal human. Plus I'm still holding out for his face rework, although at this point it really seems unlikely ;(

xD never saw it that way before but she totally does! That hair really is atrocious

As a skin it doesn’t look bad, but when you compare it to the character, then you start seeing the problems. At this point I’m not surprised that another Legendary cosmetic isn’t worth it and could very easily be passed off as a normal cosmetic. It’s the same thing with Minotaur Oni and Lisa Garland. They’re all just normal skins at an even crazier price point than normal.

Yep Cybil looks like TRASH. Whoever created her face model must’ve been a trainee or something, she looks like a busted ass Toy Story character.

You know, before this was announced on leaks I was actually hoping for the legendary skin to be Maria, but now I'm so glad it isn't. They're not adding Maria to the game until they get their ######### together, because this is just pathetic. It's literally just Cheryl doing a bad Cybil cosplay.

She still looks bad even without reference to the original, sure they missed a lot of specifics, but "Cybil's" face would still look like a crack addict and her arms would still be far too skinny (even Cheryl has larger arms!). I do agree on the second half though, really no reason at this point why and of these skins should be linked

THANK YOU, I totally thought she looked really off. I was actually really excited when I heard the rumor they were doing a legendary Cybil skin, but when I saw it in game I was VERY disapointed. I don't 100% agree with all your points and was gonna say you were overreacting a bit, but then I remembered that this is 15 DOLLARS(more than getting the silent hill dlc and is necessary to even use this skin) and can't be mixed and I definitely can agree with your frustration here.

Yup, and for the ones that are $10 forced linked sets, you cannot buy them with shards and none of them that they've made have had a valid reason for being linked.

Amy Poehler on crack
that got me lol

They'd screw Maria up so badly, plus knowing Behavior they'd just retexture Cheryl's skirt and Lisa's shirt without any actual model changes.
3 -
Actually,Cybil uses Cheryl's body textures, she doesn't have her own textures, (you can even see that she has same scars on her arms as Cheryl, and her body texture doesn't match with her neck -head texture)

Yeah, I mentioned that in the OP

"Legendary" is just an excuse to take $15 out of a players pocket. The skins are all awful. There's nothing "Legendary" about them.

I'm not defending anything because honestly I don't care much, but to me it seems it was intentional. The original has a very distinct Barbie look, and they probably wanted a more realistic take on the character. Remember also that the license holders liked the ending result, or else they wouldn't have allowed it.

But the original version of Cybil looks far more realistic than this new version does, I don't mind changes as long as they aren't actively making the character inferior like they are here
2 -
Thank you for this very in-depth look at why it looks so wrong. Dbd Cybil is very much in the realm of uncanny valley.
I just don't understand how the art department can be so inconsistent when it comes to quality? You would think they would want to make a faithful recreation of the character they're trying to sell you...

It's really weird seeing as how decently Steve and Nancy turned out, they actually look how they should.
1 -
True, sad to see they still haven't fixed this "Cybil" skin or any of the other ones.
0 -
It's really sad that they didn't even care about the karen looking they gave to cybil and to this day... she still looks like a crackhead that already sold her gun to buy more crack.
1 -
Yeah, and that's not even touching upon horse-face Lisa or anorexic Cheryl. I don't know how they screwed these characters up so badly when they did Steve and Nancy so well; and those characters DON'T EVEN HAVE pre-existing video game models to be based off of.

Good News! You probably already know, but they fixed her face!
1 -
That's a good first step, but her body still needs to be fixed, she needs her own voice, and her own P3.
