Teammates making bad plays is interesting
Survivor main here, I've noticed in most of my games the most common way my team loses a game is because they all rush the hook at once, allowing the killer to slug each survivor one after another.
If it was for the points it's understandable but no one seems to have a plan going in, "no one brought BT and the killer is 10 meters away, so it's safe to unhook, just pray they have decisive I guess."
Bad plays like this tend to lead to toxicity. The end game chats are filled with claims of camping or tunneling and whatnot, but what was the killer supposed to do? Watch everyone run away and give them a head start?
You can't make a stupid play and then be mad when it doesn't work out, and you especially can't blame the killer for taking advantage of your play, because their job is to literally take advantage of your plays.
Can we just stop doing this? Wait at least until the killer leaves?

I'm glad you recognize that the problem is bad teammates instead of asking for killer nerfs. This is also why camping is so damn effective against randoms. If everyone is rushing the hook then nobody is doing gens. Your just feeding the killer more hooks. Like you said, what do they expect the killer to do? They are capitalizing on the survivor's mistakes. Survivor's would do the same if the killer made a bad play. It's one of the reasons I always bring Kindred when I play solo survivor. We need more survivors like you in this community.

I agree. I've had a killer BM me one game contributing "nothing" because I don't rush the hook with everyone else and get chased, when I can see with Kindred that there are already two others doing it while I am on a gen. I can understand making fun of the other perks I was using though (Calm Spirit, Iron Will, Urban Evasion)

That is why Kindred is an amazing perk for solo survivors. You can see if the killer is camping or not, where your team is in relation to the hook and if they are about to do something... unwise. You have all the info you need to make the right decision. Stay on a gen, go for the save, or sadly sometimes, start planning a hatch escape.
Of course the worst part about Kindred is when you are hooked yourself and broadcast all the above informations to your whole team and yet they still manage to make a terrible save with everybody running around the killer like headless chickens.

I hate when people do this. If someone does it to me while killer has no pressure I'll just stay right under the hook, won't use my ds, let killer hook me and get out of that game

It's truly amazing to watch how many survivors in this game seemingly lack the ability to play with any strategy whatsoever. I have a family member that also plays the game. They used to be one of the people you are talking about. She was going to go for the save every single time as quickly as possible. It didn't matter where the killer was.
I finally asked one day why she kept doing it. She told me it was because even in a video game she wanted to be a nice person and do the right thing.
I explained why the way she played actually made it easier on the killer to kill her whole team. When the realization finally hit her that what she had considered altruistic was actually just the opposite she started playing differently.
There's also the thing where bloodpoints are awarded to survivors in such a way that it provides incentive for a player to unhook whether it's a safe time to do so or not.

The game management from solo survivors is typically pretty poor. A lot of players don't or can't read the HUD. You don't even really need Kindred to make good decisions.
Someone is on the hook, and someone else just went from healthy to injured or you see the obsession claws wiggle. Unless you're finishing a gen in the next 10 seconds, you need to get that save NOW.
If someone's hook progress is halfway to the next state and nobody has saved yet, you need to go NOW.
If someone just got hooked and you're across the map, give it 20 seconds or so before you begin a crossmap trek of inefficiency.
It's not new math. If you're close, go when you have a good opportunity and it's safe. If you don't have BT, don't rip in front of the killer unless they're about to go to the next state anyway. If you're across the map, I guarantee someone is closer and the save isn't really on you right away.

As someone who runs an ambulance build with Kindred, some games are just flat out sad to behold.
I see someone go down and i'm ready for action. I know where the killer is, and i know when he's moved away from the hook. I make my way as carefully as i can to the hook without crouch walking all the way.....i know i can trust in my We'll make it and botany after i get this person down as soon as i judge it safe to do so (i don't carry BT because i don't unhook in the killers face) then heal them mega fast under the hook if i see the killer is otherwise busy, or heal them a little way away if not. If i screw up, i will take the heat! But 8 times out of ten, this build allows me to safe unhook and get the survivor fully healed and back in the game in much less time than usual.
Lo and be-fricken-hold, no sooner am i a few meters away, here comes 2 to 3 people a-running! No plan, no caution, no waiting for the killer to get far enough away that unhooking isn't a second death sentence for the one on the hook. No BT, just unhook and leg it away...leaving the poor unhooked sod to do a backflip once the killer downs them again.
I understand that other people don't see my loadout, but this happens even when I'M the person on the hook and literally broadcasting everyone's movements. Is it a race for the points, some absurd adrenaline rush to be there first? Who knows.
If you are observant, the HUD can tell you so much, but since a good portion tend to ignore the bright yellow aura's of their team mates, i really don't hold out much hope.
I'll be honest, the many, many times i see 3 survivors go down like dominos because they think they can unhook in a killers face (essentially making it more profitable for that killer to camp) i sometimes end up just noise spamming for the killer to find me so i can die and get the heck out of there.

Unfortunately, the people who play like this won’t learn because they refuse to accept that they made a mistake. That’s why they blame the killer - it’s easier to say “well it wasn’t my fault, the killer was camping!” than it is to admit that you might have something to learn.
People do this all the time. Killers who cry gen rush after chasing one guy for three minutes and barely using their power. Survivors who cry tunnelling and camping when they make it the absolute easiest option for the killer.
Hopefully one day they lose the ego a bit and realise that even experts and geniuses learn new things all the time.

If you’re on the hook you can see others but unless you’re using a perk they can’t see each other. I think more often than not that is why so many people rush for the save. It isn’t stupidity it’s just ignorance due to lack of information.
But then some players are just stupid even with enough info.

It's not an issue with Kindred, as this still happens plenty of times even with the perk active. And survivors unhooking within terror radius without BT happens all the time, which is nothing more than a lack of common sense.
