The three problems I have every game....

  • Killers hitting me from long distances anytime you make any type of close play
  • Bodies that enter dying state teleporting like 5-10 feet because it takes a few seconds to register survivor inputs. It's not a problem in this clip (I used this one because it's most clear) but it can make survivors VERY hard to find, I often lose survivors I just downed because they teleport so far I don't know where they are and I have to just leave them slugged)
  • Grabs getting cancelled mid animation as killer when I definitely had them; and also as survivor being grabbed from a locker after I got out and have taken a few steps away from the the locker.


Now like, I get that any game online is going to have hiccups, and I do find the dedicated servers better than the old peer to peer; but one would think that if somethings happens virtually every single game, it might become something worth looking into or addressing or at least talking about?

    They're actually working on grabbing now, as a matter of fact!

    The current problem is that grabs, similarly to hits, are registered on the Killer side, and not the Survivor side.

    So when the Killer grabs someone, the server does a quick check.

    During this check, a Survivor often realizes what's happening and panics, hopping off their current objective in favor of running, which tells the Killer "Nope. No good. Close, but no cigar."

    And then you get the stupid stun you get when you go for the grab but just swipe at the air instead.

    Sounds to me like they should implement a rollback system, like many fighting games use.

    But that might be a little complex for a game that isn't a 2D fighter.

    Sounds good. Hopefully they do something about the teleporting bodies too.

    It can be a real problem on maps with grass. It also tends to add like 1 - 10 seconds of just trying to find them every time you down someone. That's like being DS stunned every time you down a survivor, it gives them a lot of time to plan and prepare a way to save their team mate too.

    Speaking of, has anyone been having some awful freezing issues on PS4? I had them before but they have gotten way worse recently.
