I'm thinking of leaving DbD
I've over 2000 hrs in this game, which should tell anyone that I do like it. But I've some issues that aren't addressed
- Cross play between console gens is only possible with cross play enabled. This means I can't play with my friends, who 100% deny to play against PC players. Which means having a PS5/XBXSX is useless, because BHVR may not allow cross gen with PSN or XBOXLIVE, except with full cross play enabled.
- Way too many bugs are introduced with each patch. Instead of fixing things, it gets worse. It seams like BVHR is more after the money of players, then having a good running game. Too much content is released. No "We hold off any new content releases. We rather concentrate on bug fixes only"
- No break up of the META. It's pretty much the same stuff over and over on both sides. A ton of perks and yet we only see the same 6 perks. It's really boring.
- Toxicity of the community is a major reason to leave DbD for good. I'm not saying EVERY player is toxic. But the majority unfortunately is and this also has made me become toxic. I have become part of the problem and this is something that seriously bugs me. I'm not toxic in the sense of saying/writing mean words, more like toxic in gameplay. That's not an excuse for my behaviour in game to not let others enjoy the game sometimes. We all have to work on this.
Games should be fun for everyone. We players and the devs should work together. Right now it's just pointing fingers and not showing that the devs are also on the wrong path for an overall fun experience, e.g. keep buying stuff when they screw up like with the release of the latest patch. Sure, DbD has no real competition and this leads the devs to think they are untouchable. They're not. Neither are we players. But I don't see much change in the foreseeable future. So I rather take a break from DbD.
I'll finish the current Rift and then take a long break. There are a ton of games I should finally start to play.
Will I return? Maybe...

I’ve started with playing on some of my back log of games. I’ve been keeping an eye on the forums to see what’s up. Played a couple of games as the twins to see how good/bad it was. Feel like a lot of people are in the same boat. Just haven’t committed to staying or going yet.

Im on an indefinite leave too and I feel good about it. You should put the game on hold ASAP, considering how unhappy everyone on the forums is, its not a bad idea

I'd recomend that you take a break from the game for a week or so and see if you still want to come back to dbd. Personally, I've only played a handful of games of dbd in the past month and I'm peobably going to completely drop the game at some point in the near future.
