I agree killer is more relaxing, you have much more control. The killer has all the power to dictate whether survivors can have fun, with their killer pick, playstyle etc. All survivors can really do is (really rare, like once every 2 weeks) bring extremely stacked perks or more commonly, a map offering, which you can just alt+f4 anyway. I only play 4 man too if I can help it because randoms are so dogshit it's incredibly frustrating.

IIRC you are on Xbox, I know on PC you can enable crossplay off if you want harder games, sadly I doubt this will be the case for yourself though.

Your timing to switch sides could not be worse...but good luck

While i had strange hits now and then, they are far too uncommon for me to be the problem you make it to be.

But from what i saw from your last thread on this matter i belive you have connection issues but rather blame it on everything else.

Exactly except most people seem to think it's actually stressful. Maybe against the actual near unbeatable swfs but other than that is say no. I dont really even dodge lobbies I only dodge keys when I see them.

Yeah no offense to my console brethren but the ones who turn crossplay off are just plain bad. that stuff is boring as hell.

I mean Is 60-70 ping is connection issues sure. West coast is full of vpn killers. Then you have the console players who have the terrible wifi.

Yes, and all that should put server hit validation in your favor. Yet it didn´t. I wonder why. (thats a retorical trick, i actually have a hunch why that is).

Wait until bad matchmaking happens, if it does.

If you're a super great killer, it probably won't mean much, but if you're less than stellar you'll get some nasty surprises in matchmaking, and it's going to get stressful.

I play a lot survivor and killer both rank one consistently. To be honest killer never been easier and going against randoms or mix randoms and swf is playing like against bots. Decent SWF even with non meta perks seems to resist sometimes usually at farm maps where is a lot of ultra safe pallets and strong gyms. Im quite rarely matching against super sweaty survivors with 4 ds 8 unbreakables and 12 keys like every crying killer main at the forum.

I dont think I'm the best but my basics like mind gaming and pathing are up there. The only thing holding me back is my experience with blight.

I dont blame you had the shack pallet bug where I couldn't break it.

This exactly. As survivor I see why more sweaty killers. As killer is actually like to go agaknst an actually super sweaty swf and see how I play. It would be nice to experiment with and test myself.

id agree with most of those but id say survivor is more relaxing than killer, because of gen "gameplay"

  • azame
    azame Member Posts: 2,870

I wouldn't say relaxing because it's just boring. Relaxing would be me chilling and having fun. Thats why I actively ignore gens as a survivor.

i do gens while listening to music, so its at least more relaxing to me. Id agree though just normally its boring af

Also just a thought i had, devs want struggle state to be interactive and dont want people to just be able to swap music that thier listening to but gens have always been kept boring.

Not saying id want gens to be spamming spacebar just wish the "minigame" was more interesting for both

  • azame
    azame Member Posts: 2,870

I cant bring myself to do gens unless I'm trying to win. Most of my survivor games I just want to get my chases and dip. Maybe die but as long as the chases are fire it's all good.

Hit detection that has only gotten worse since they officially released dedicated servers, but we'll let the other 50 threads on that topic cover that one. Been playing both survivor and killer since year 1, and imo right now survivors are in the worst spot they have ever been in any version of the game. When I did play survivor, I used to play solo-survivor non-stop in the beginning because of how addicting the game was, but since I've moved to only playing SWF in the modern format. Unless you are new to game or still figuring things out, nobody should have a problem acknowledging that killers are in a strong place right now. Killers have built up an array of good perk options and many of them combo well together; especially if you're someone like me and have all of the killer's teachables unlocked. I'd go as far as to say there's more good killer perks to choose from than survivor perks at this point in terms of how often it'll see play across different matches, utility, and advantage it can give you against another player.

In addition to this we are seeing stronger unique passive abilities, which are acting as an inherent 5th perk on some Killers, while survivors offer much less in comparison outside of their 3 unique perks. Even the new perks can be underwhelming and offer much less utility than ones already in the game which we've seen with many of the new survivor perks. I don't feel nearly as much anxiety as I did years prior when it took everything but the kitchen sink to down a survivor but they'd just keep coming back with their over tuned perks. Now, in the "modern" DBD I rather feel that I'm playing a relaxing adventure game featuring 4 unlucky survivors. Yea you get the fun and challenging games every now and again, but even my worst matchup today pales in comparison to some of the sweaty matches I've had in year 1.

Tbh, killer is way more stressful hunting down those little #########'s. I try to be nice but some people just deserve to be sacerficed

I'm a Killer main now and to be honest, the experience is just so much better than solo survivor.

    Only yourself to criticise.

More variety to play with and experiment.

If you're good with Killer, you'll generally always perform well against the average solo survivor team, whereas even if you're a good solo survivor, there's no guarantee you'll even do well.

It's the more challenging role, so the reward is more fun.

I like being able to rely on myself and not worry about my team dragging me down. Another thing I really like is showing off my skills to survivors.

I consider myself good so I typically 4k most games at red ranks. My rank 1 hasnt been reached yet only because I'm playing and learning blight at the same time. I'm like rank 3 or 2.

I dont really consider killer that challenging tbh but that's just me.

  • Zaytex
    Zaytex Member Posts: 841

It becomes challenging and sometimes infuriating when you go against very good survivor(s) with a good map for them.

Old Ormond against very good survivors was literal rage for me. There was nothing you could do.

  • azame
    azame Member Posts: 2,870

Hits have definetly got worst over the years. I didnt have to pray the killer had good connection to not get hit. I've restricted myself to swf mostly maybe solo for like a video but other than that I dont like solo it's not fun when your teammates are just not good.

Killers have gotten stronger over the years and I feel like most of the killers on the roster can deal with average to good swfs. When I say good I dont mean top percent. But even then you dont see those as often.

I feel like in today's dbd killer is 100 percent more fun than survivor and survivor is a boring mess that needs tweaks. You have to throw the game to have fun which I could go into but for now I'll leave you with this. If a streamer plays with a swf they wont focus on gens they will usually try and go find the killer and mess/loop them until they die.

  • azame
    azame Member Posts: 2,870

Once again that is subjective. Most maps arent inherently bad anymore. Haddon field is probably the worst currently even crocus prenn with the infinite is fine. The map is too rng focused on the outskirts. I digress though. Very good teams are fun to verse I actually have to try and win and test my skills.

The only thing that pisses me off is the ######### console frames.

Four very good survivors with the best perks, items with add-ons, all split up on generators is a real challenge to beat.

    "Beat" being a 4K here.

It's impossible unless one of them makes such a huge mistake that they hand you the game.

I thought that was a given though lol. If they are very good I expect them to be hard to eb ssd t thus the challenge I want. Also beat means 3k or above not a 4k. This is based on the devs criteria and it is accurate.

As a blight main I think I dont need to rely on them to make a mistake. But then again if I mindgame them at a jungle gym then I made them make a mistake. What I'm trying to say here is that you dont need to rely on them solely to give you the win. Also heres some food for thought you said "very good" not "perfect" therefore them making mistakes is inevitable.

I don’t blame you. It’s obvious that the deva are catering killers because judging by the latest reworks, they want pallets GONE

I played solo que last night. Managed to escape 4 out of 6 games, got my challenges done.

The last game I lost because the killer was guarding the hatch and the last couple of gens were in hearing distance and anytime I touched one he would come but I couldn't get to the hatch and he didn't close it.

So that part of the game lasted another 15 mins and I finally got caught cause I got bored.
