DC for Hatch
Just had a game with an SWF. Slugged one girl and left to go after the last survivor that was left. The slugged girl DCed and allowed the other to get the hatch. They where obviously using comms to communicate so that the other girl could get the hatch while the first DCed. Can we have that if there is a DC in the match the hatch can't open? it seems fair to me and makes sure people can't cheat to take away points earned by the killer because they are spiteful and can't deal with basic game mechanics.

It wouldn’t be functionally possible, being that if a player DC’s as soon as the match starts, all other survivors would be robbed of the hatch escape.

I'm not saying its perfect, but its the best idea I can think of. If it could detect a DC when only the last player DCed that would be preferable, but I doubt they can do that. Whereas they can detect when a DC is done at any point in the game and just prevent the hatch. Its already an unfair mechanic anyways, as the survivor can literally get away without doing ANYTHING.

If they're SWF then they're both already being punished by the DC penalty. If they want to play together they both have to wait for the time to run out.

Bruh I had 3 people DC during mori I was doing for a challenge multiple games in row... I moried after 2 hooks each... And they dc and it don't count for #########... Worst part is I was doing adept(usually min 1 DC or suicide on first hook) and I was gonna get it if they all didn't dc...
I'm ok with hatch cause I slug for it but if u disconnect it shouldn't be 5min cd... Same for mori if u getting moried and u dc ur cool down should be a minimum of an hour but then again it's still too little...
Should be more like cs 30min/2h/12h/24h/7days and it resets a minimum of one week after last DC

this is why there is a weak penalty system put in for people who dc to allow that. but it's a step in the right direction. I know they say don't report it but i've moved on reporting disconnects but reporting the exploitation of the leave match functionality to further their own gains (friends getting out, rage quit, what ever).

The penalty system is not "weak" because of people like that. It's that way because, sometimes, you can get stuck in terrain or otherwise suffer from a glitch that can prevent you from playing, while still locking you in the trial.
1 -
so there is no penalty system implemented to try and deter people from breaking the game rules? that's quite interesting you think it's only here to punish people with bad internet. I totally can't agree to that because those with bad internet are the ones caught in the cross fire but you can't make something that can discern a network drop outside of the player's control versus a network cable being pulled. Also the Leave Match functionality is still available to stop people from having to shut the game down in bad ways if they do get stuck in game where egc can't stop it. you might want to re-read what you posted as you are saying the penalty system was implemented because of people who don't deserve to be punished when it was the people that broke the rules badly that caused it to exist in the first place.

How about a DC functions the same as a sacrifice, that way the Killer has some time to get to the hatch.

Alright, reformulated.

Honestly, I dont think that this is a problem which should be solved, at least not until BHVR does not have any issues to solve anymore - so basically never.
Yes, it sucks if one guy gets the Hatch because of that, but it is happening really rare. And the person DCing will not get any BPs out of this game and will have a penalty. If they were in a SWF, they will all have to wait until the penalty expired. Losing out of BPs and gaining a penalty will also result in them not doing that this often.
And yeah, while it surely can be a problem, I consider it too minor. There are other things they should take care off.

i never said it was weak because of anyone, just that it was weak. there was no one even attached to the fact it's weak. but fair you did change it and it's more understandable and doesn't seem to be you trying to make others look bad.

honestly it had to be solved and has been solved. the penalty system is there, and because others abused it. that person got a 5 minute time out or more depending on how many times they dc'd. blood points is not a penalty to many, they just don't care anymore, and they drop out of the swf for a while to let their friends play on.

They get a penalty for the d/c and lose all their BP. This thread is a waste of time.

I like this idea. It would also be nice if it gave you full hook states and all the points you should get for those hooks as well.

the penalty is tiny, the blood points inconsequential, the depip is a reward not a penalty. this thread is not a waste of time because of this. now if they had their characters reset a prestiege level and more, perks reduced to tier 1 that'd make the loss of even 32K blood points very much felt. anyways great response from someone who can't read a paragraph 3 lines longer than this.

Don’t slug then

Nobody wants to sit there for 5 minutes crawling around or just waiting. They want to play the game.
1 -
DCing is already being penalized and with this? Surely would make the game challenging.
0 -
wait you mean the game isn't challenging for survivors? say it isn't so!!!1 <Sarcasm off> yea that is true.
0 -
Sarcasm or not there is people saying this game doesn't favour the Survivors.
0 -
i'm agreeing with you, was being sarcastic about your comment because i thought it'd be funny :)

The dc itself will get a penalty.
Just because you couldn't slug to 4k doesn't mean new rules should be enforced guaranteeing the 4k.
Just move on to the next game knowing both of them have to wait the penalty if they want to continue playing together.
If they repeat this dc hatch tactic, the penalty increases.
Is hatch really worth a dc penalty?
Is a 3k really considered a loss?
It sounds like both parties are at fault for being greedy, and both parties got penalized.
You missed out on 1 kill, they get to sit and wait even longer for next match.
No new rules required.
2 -
That's cool but I think we need perks to be Buffed over the Killers powers.
0 -
While it is about what I missed out on, its also bringing up an exploit/cheating in this game that should be taken care of. Its not something to just turn a blind eye to, at least I don't think so.
0 -
It's not cheating if it's already penalized.
0 -
The DC is penalized. But the person who was allowed to get away scott free was not, and the killer is penalized for trying to get BP and Emblems. So its really not fair, and its really not properly penalized.
2 -
Both survivors are having to wait the penalty, and the killer is penalized for being greedy.
0 -
...For being greedy? For trying to get more emblems and blood points? Wow. Just...Wow.

Survivor mainers logic my man....Survivors Mainers logic....don't argue lol....it's kinda like them complaining about Face Camping/Slugging but then saying other stuff shouldn't be complained for Survivors.

and I agree there as well, we need perks to be buffed and tweaked so things are better.

It’s not a bad idea at all, pretty good, and at least generating some attention toward a conversation on the issue.
Probably a time consuming effort on the devs behalf to write a program for the DC timeframe detection, apart from their other daily DBD work duties tho.
The husks that the devs mentioned may be the best opportunity to aid in avoiding the “DC for the hatch” scenario.
In the event of any player leaving the match prematurely, the husk would remain in place (instead of a dead survivor) that could be interacted with by the killer to pick up and sacrifice, thus providing time to counter the last remaining survivor’s escape.

That’s actually a pretty good idea, here’s hoping they can implement it

I'd like a button prompt to leave match (not the DC leave!) when the mori animation starts. I'm dead, that's fine, but I'd like to move on, I don't need to watch after I've seen it plenty of times.

FYI, you lack critical thinking when you resort to insults.
'tiny and inconsequential' thanks for those anecdotal subjective talking points, because it just looks like whining and entitlement.
The fact you want to go the route of MORE punitive measures is sad. What people like you and this community in general fail to understand is WHY the d/c happens. Why don't you incentivize people to STAY, instead of punishing them because they leave.
As I said you already have punishments, and you want to increase that. At what point do you realise that you're playing a computer game. People won't stick around if its not fun.
Think outside the box, get out of your bubble.
EDIT: Also I notice you didn't reply to @keygun posts who succinctly explained why your idea is bad. You conveniently skipped over it and went for the low hanging fruit.
