Kicking a gen should regress it instantly by some amount
I'm sure this has been suggested before, but this seems like such a simple thing to implement. Have a gen regress immediately by 2-5% when damaged. This would give incentive for Killers to actually kick gens (since many Killers don't kick at all unless they have Pop or Surveillance). It would also solve the issue of gen tapping, where a Survivor can tap a regressing gen for no penalty while continuing to loop.
The percentage would have to be adjusted, but I don't know how this hasn't been at least tested in a PTB yet. Please, BHVR.

As an alternative, you could make it so that a gen will continue to regress if a survivor isn’t on it until the survivor makes a successful skill check. Once they make a skill check they can leave the gen and it won’t regress. That would eliminate the “tap a gen for a split second and it’s fine” thing but still allow survivors to stabalize a regressing gen with a few seconds of effort.

Aside from the times I somehow work a gen for 15 seconds without a skillcheck, I like this idea too!

Yeah I like this, it actually adds something to all killer's base kit as a means of regression. And regression is part of the killer meta right now considering ruin and undying are in most killer games now.

2% seems doable, I think?

That's about 1,6 seconds worth of gen repair, killers kick gens in about 2 seconds, i think 5% (4 seconds) wouldn't be op or anything.

I think 5% should be the base damage, and then nerf Pop to 20%.

I am of the belief that the number should be small at the start to play it safe. If there ends up being more room for safe growth, then that's something that could be revisited.

How funny! I was recently considering making a "QoL Improvement Suggestions" post with that exact suggestion in it! Good to know I'm not the only one wanting to have this discussion.

I remember asking this on a Q and A stream a while back and the arguament is that the survivor is taking a risk to stop it so its fair (silly to me as theres no animation, they can vault a pallet and stop it with no commitment).

Yeah I agree, that's a silly argument. Taking literally 0.25 second to tap a gen isn't really a risk.

Yeah 1-2% would be great, so many times survivors didnt care because they they just need to Click the Gen once and it didn't matter even if you kick

I'd be onboard if it means less ruin unzzzing
