hit validation its worked all is fine, oni has a problem 1 week later hit validation dosent work...
what the fuq ? what is that ?
hit validation (24h beta test) was fine and was working, they take it off
hit validation comes out was normaly and perfect for 5-6h but oni has a problem and they take it off
1 week later hit validation comes back and dosent work haha pretty pretty good job so far, i don't know exactly what bhvr did in the first week but you could have saved yourself the hit validation ...
In the beta test and before the oni (NO HITS) hour something like that didnt even happen, I swear it was so clear that something that is going well you have to break, I'm honest if it goes so far I'll open a vpn and go to the NA servers over so that I also have a 100+ ping, because something like that is normal with dbd GG
a same action was with a spirit player i was away and she hit me (i was thinking Im just imagining it) but NO !
thank you thank you for nothing

It wasn't fine lmao during that time me and my friend were getting hit from 3-5x bigger distances than possible...

To be fair, that can be normal latency paired with the very generous Chainsaw-Hitbox of Billy. Hit Validation will most likely fix the extreme cases, but it cannot remove Latency completely.

100% !!! i swear before oni (no hit) validation that never been a hit !
they did something that week ... no matter what they did, because hit validation is supposed to prevent such hits, what do we want with hit validation if something like that is still possible? bro ######### serious question: WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH THE HIT VALIDATION IF IT DOESN'T WORK ?
These types of hits didnt happen once during the beta phase before the oni (no hits) debacle, after this, a spirit hit me (that hit wasnt on), billy hit me 1m behind me

Glad they're bringing back getting dedicated.

ohhh noice, then i downloed a vpn or i get lagswitch because heyyy dbd is that game when you have a bs latenzy you got will you be rewarded noice, and please pleassseeeeee dont be so stupid my friendo read it again "IN THE BETA TEST AND WHEN IT COME OUT THAT NEVER HAPPEN !" so it can be impossible that it has never happened before and that hit validation only comes up to great distances, Unless you can say before the hit validation took care of all hits and now no longer GG

Yikes! Laurie must have tripped over that table😬

Thats what, 1 meter? I don´t see a problem here.

Yeah,i don't get it either. It's just latency.Got chainsawed around corners quite a bit too

I can almost write this one off because of Billy chainsaw (#2 BS hitbox in the game after hatchets- when they make sense, they make sense, but I've been hit by some aboslutely disturbing chainsaw downs that should NOT have hit).
But I played a total of 3 games yesterday and 2 out of the three games had nasty little laggy hits. I got hit by a Pig around a gen and when I went down, I was a couple of character lengths away from her. Next game was a Freddy and while I personally didn't notice any lag (because I was only in one chase with him) every other player in the lobby commented on it, asking if he was VPNing. I guess my chase with him DID start with him smacking at the generator I had already run away from....
Anyways, nobody in the any of the post game chats believed that hit validation was on.

It´s not even a lot of latency. When i opened the video, i expected a chainsaw hit from across the room or something like that.
1 -
People just don't seem to understand latency ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1 -
Even if its latency how is hits like that fair at all? I know it shouldn't be possible to completely remove latency (at least to my knowledge) but they should try and keep it to a minimum.

I think Blight might be broken with this latest update. Had a VPN killer from china yesterday on blight, and he hit me outside of his 180 degree angle from a place that I'd never been running through myself, multiple times. Seems something broke even more than usual.
Oh, that's Billy, my mistake. It's pretty odd. Haven't come across a Billy in a while.

You're missing the point that hit validation is supposed to stop that. Majority of the time, hits like these looks bullshit for both sides, anyway.
0 -
Nobody argues that hits like these feel unfair on your side, but there's little the devs can do against that.
The only thing they can do is implementing hit validation to get rid of extreme edge cases and hopefully show us the killer ping again.Other than that there's nothing you can do to deal with latency as far as i know

@SunderMun funny you mention Blight, cos I just had a clip of Blight hitting from very far away as well. Might be something to look into.
1 -
Oh, you got a clip? That's great. I don't have the ability to record the game in quality so didn't get to clip it myself. Glad you did!

Hit validation to me doesn't work lol......also does the "Jail" icon means they are temp or perm banned?
0 -
I'm pretty sure that hit validation is only there to prevent extreme cases of latency.I'm not sure if it would have prevented that chainsaw hit.
0 -
That chainsaw was incredibly extreme, and at the point where the downed person was noticed by the server to not be near where the killer went into animation of hitting them, that should in theory count as a hit that is redacted, if the system works as intended.
0 -
Jail means they got a warning and are limited to how many posts they can make. (I believe around every 240 seconds) As well as this, they can't make new discussions. When banned, it's much more obvious. A red profile pic saying they're banned would take the place of jail.
1 -
It's pretty much one step before a ban (either perma or temp)
1 -
aaaah I see first time seeing that, thank you for the responses and apology for derailing the thread slightly. +1 for both.
2 -
Can't say anything about that honestly, considering how wonky my experience with hit validation is so far
0 -
I know! I'm just saying, if Hit Validation works as the devs claim it is intended, even hits like this should not be happening.
I never had much faith in the project, and would much rather they did something about people who VPN where possible, since it probably takes a lot of resources to potentially simply not work, just like the MMR system.
1 -
Even if hit validation worked as intended you'll still be seeing hits like that. Even if you had hit validation be fully survivor sided you'll still see bs hits (it'll be much rarer but across all players you'll get a bunch of juicy clips) or teleporting killers. There's no way to get rid of it in an online game.
0 -
In theory yes.
I would love to see a dev to talk about specific parts from hit validation.
There were still a lot of dumb hits that killers landed on me during hit validation even though my ping was around 40ms and i doubt that the killers pings was waaaay better than mine.
A ping indicator for the killer would be needed.Maybe on your screen in game too so that you can see if you had any spikes that could have caused bs situations.
1 -
I agree; I don't actually see why there is no ping indicator in the game right now when it comes to the killer; only survivors. Probably just yet another oversight, tbh.
0 -
I'm talking about a ping indicator for the killer that you can see in the pre game lobby and ingame.
Also,a personal ping indicator as part of the in game UI would be pretty useful too.
You can't always look it up in the menu.
2 -
I understood; I just don't see why you can only see the survivors' pings. Killer can't even check their own when already in a match; it's odd.
0 -
I really would like a ping indicator in the lobbies, showing all players ping so all players can see every other players ping as well.
