Did I miss something?
People keep lumping in bypassing DS in with the viability of the new mori conditions, but I can only see it happening one way:
In the rare instance if a survivor goes into struggle off the first hook which is going to be rare overall, isn't it?
Iirc, DS activates automatically on the first pickup so there's no way to hook a survivor twice without DS activating. It can't be banked, and it can only be used once.

This was how DS used to work and it was....far from balanced

We have come full circle

ok, please help me out here.
I know I glossed over the mechanics of DS.
how does this work because the wiki still reads that DS automatically triggers when picked up after being hooked the first time, you hit a skill check, or not, and that's it. Ds doesn't trigger again.
I'm aware that it activates on other sorts of pickup, like locker grabs, too.
So if Mori only works off struggle phase unhooking, and a survivor is rescued before struggle phase you can't use mori to bypass DS. Right?

DS will activate off first and second hook if it isn’t used. Either the survivor can not attempt to hit the skillcheck, or the perk timer can run out if they’re not picked up within 60 seconds, in which case it will activate after they’re unhooked a second time.
The idea is that you don’t immediately go for them off first hook, when they have DS and you don’t have the ability to mori them. First hook a couple of survivors. You’re then free to mori them off their second hook with no worry of DS.

Mori's only work on the struggle phase, this means as long as your next hook does not result in you being sacrificed an Ebony and Ivory will not work
So that means DS will still work, however its harder to activate when your next hook is death hook

So if a killer waits out the DS timer, or the survivor doesn't try to DS the survivor keeps the use so they can use it off the next hook?

Yes they can

I appreciate the enlightenment. I missed this update during my break, the wiki doesn't seem updated, and it hadn't come up in any youtube vids I saw.

Yep. Once the perk has been actively used, either by hitting the skillcheck and stunning the killer or by missing the skillcheck, it will never activate again. If neither of those things happen it can be used off second hook.
