Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

DbD would benefit from a survivor of Indian ethnicity

Greetings and salutations!

I would like to say upfront that this is one of the most pleasureable experience of a game I've had so I am so grateful to the developers that they have made it possible and released a game that's bringing so much fun, excitement and thrill.

But yet as I am enjoying this game a lot I still feel like the new characters realeased are focused mostly on beautiful women recently, and I have yet to experience a character that would represent my country. There is so many characters of different ethnicities and natinalities, many of which are often repeated (mainly USA and UK) but there is none from India. I feel like India deserves to have a representing character, but I also have a feeling the main focus currently is to get really just represent attractive female characters (Kate, Zarina, Jane, Yui and more recently Elodie), with few exceptions like Felix.

I think that having a character of the Indian ethnicity would be a very nice thing to have and it would improve the game tremendously. I estimate that there is more than 2 million players in India who own the game and would agree with me that having an Indian character would be a great thing in Dead By Daylight.

Are perhaps you planning to release a new character of Indian enthnicity in your upcoming DLCs?

Thank you for your patience and for reading my inquiry.

With kindest regards,

- Sanesh

I mean it doesn't sound far fetched and wouldn't be bad for the game, however I do not know when this will happen so it might be a while

    Zarina's middle eastern ain't she?

Edit: I saw you mentioned Zarina in your post. I wouldn't mind hooking someone purely of Indian origin though. Make it happen BHVR.

I think Indian would be a nice addition for survivors, but I moreso want Native American heritage in a new survivor (similar to Piper McLean from the Heroes Of Olympus book series). I would 100% play that character, being partial Native American myself.

Its obviously going to happen at some point with as diverse as the backgrounds of the original survivors already are.

I just don't want every new survivor to come out be attractive. Beyond realistic.

Oh no. Now that you asked for it, they shouldn’t do or it will be bad bad pandering. /s

yeah I guess it will happen some time in the future, but there are way more ethnicities not present and they shouldnt restrict themselves and add every possible ethnicity going down a list.

We already have plenty of Asian characters. I don't think there's any rush

Asia is an entire continent with various different cultures. However, even if we were to go with that, there are far more American characters, so there's definitely a rush for non-American characters.

I think a Native American survivor and an Indian survivor would be great the for the game.

Always a fan of expanding representation, especially now that I've already gotten my German survivor. Would definitely love to see them tackle either form of "Indian" (Native Indian or Native American) in the future.

If possible, I'd especially like for them to consider having one or both of these survivors NOT be loosely from the present-day (unlike all other survivors thus far). For example:

    • They could have an Indian survivor who is/was a Sepoy (Infantryman) during the first World War. There's a lot of fascinating history to explore there which could be used to develop the character.
    • A Native American survivor could be brought into the Fog as the result of an unfortunate detour during their rites of passage into adulthood. If the DbD team ever does more with Hellshire Penitentiary in the future (it's presumably located in Nebraska, which had many indigenous people), it could be a good opportunity to create a character of this heritage.

But it's all just some wishful thinking. We might be spending a little more time roaming around Europe first if they continue to expand the saga of Dyer Island and it's mysterious cult.

Those are some very nice concepts, APoipleTurtle.

Glad they're finally slowly going with more different nationalities over the years.

Felix German, Blight Scottish, Elodie and Twins French, Spirit, Oni and Yui Japanese etc...

Having everyone to be North American would be so boring.

Now that non-humans are a thing, and there was speculation of a wendigo, go Inuit and Wendigo combo.

I agree, En3ermost. This is a very nice thing to have. There is so much variety already. Indian survivor would also give potential for Indian killer concept, perhaps based on Indian mythology?
