What kind of Survivor/Killer are you?

Hey girls and guys, I'm just curious about your playstyles as Survivor or Killer. Maybe so I can see, where I can place myself amongst you. Or so we all can learn about other styles out there.

Survivor: Well... I think I am a supporter. I mostly do gens, go for the rescue when needed or go and find all the Totems when my gut tells me, the Killer has NOED. I'm not super altruistic nor am I the girl who loops the killer for ages. I can loop but others can do it better and more efficiently.

Killer: I just try my best. Does that count? I slug for 4k unless one of the two has earned the hatch. I dare say that I play fair, try not to tunnel nor to camp when not necessary. I kill those who betray their mates and let the victim go. When there are DCs in the early game and people struggle, I let them go. But I am harsh against OoO trolls, flashlight clickers and tbaggers. So all kind of toxic girls and guys. And sometimes when someone really pisses me off, I just want him dead. Regardless of the match's result.

Survivor: Terrible. Let's just leave it at that. I am so bad.

Killer: Well, I am very aggressive, and therefore tend to go to Killers that favor that style of play. I don't BM or be toxic unless it's done to me first. I try and not tunnel unless they just jump into my arms, that kinda thing.

survivor: i'm a good survivor, i always try to save my teammates even if the killer has NOED, killers usually call me toxic cause of flashlight saves/bodyblocking him while he is trying to chase someone. i don't believe that i'm toxic, i just play "altruistic" (75% of the games i die because of my playstyle, i'm rank 3 survivor) if i'm too far or unable to help someone i always do gens, if the killer is facecamping i do gens and don't even try to save the hooked survivor.

Killer: i don't play killer often cause of the infinite matchmaking, but when i play it i always try to do a lot of cc so the survs can't do gens, i usually play Freddy, Wraith and Billy. (rank 10 killer).

Survivor: I try and enjoy myself playing with builds I like over meta builds. I got all perks maxed on my main a long time ago so I can play any build I want and have fun. I generally play a balanced game between looping, gens, stealth, and unhooks. I'm excellent at using LoS blockers to get away.

I love playing against Nurse, Huntress, and Hag.

I get bored playing against Billy, Plague, and Myers.

Killer: I'm incredibly aggressive and follow my own code of No Tunneling No Camping. If you happen to be the survivor who got unhooked I'll slug you and leave. I want to have fun playing and I hope you do as well. I like to play killers who I enjoy and I play them well. I try and distribute pressure and hooks evenly.

My favorite killers are Spirit, Pig, Huntress, Hag, and Nurse.

My least favorite are Billy, Plague, and Myers.

survivor: gens. its all im really able to do. despite watching youtubers and streamers who are great loopers i just cant get the hang of it. so I mainly just do gens, not much else unless i feel i have to.

killer: mainly a farmer/memer at this point. I got sick and tired of feeling anxious every match so i decided instead of hoping for a less stressful game, i'll just make it less stressful myself. when i do play normally, its usually as Pig so i tend to get a bear trap on people while i can, and try not to go after them except maybe push them off a box because they are being stalled anyway.

surv: im good at chases(exhaustion perk) but i dont like pushing gens, so im doing totems (small game gamer here), loot some chests (plunderers), healing nea that is urban evading in corner because she is injured and scared (bond) avg im doing 1 gen per game and im done with it xD (well i dont care if i die unless i looted sth good)

Edit: my build is exacly as my playstyle ingame xD (exacly those 4 perks)

killer: wraith/pig main, i play more for fun/bp and kinda care of other side fun (most often i get 1st kill on 6-7th hook) i dont care if i win or lose (well if i lose i will play on chill ranks, if i win i get more bp ) i dont run slowdown perks (or noed) im too used to whispers/bbq/enduring to swap any of it (and most likely last is dev hope or other funny perk)

Survivor: just a jack of all trades. Really depends on the game. I like going for unhooks, but I'll try to finish a Gen first. I like mindgames, win or lose, it makes the chases more fun than just running around a pallet.

Killer: Was going to main demogorgon but after a short amount of time at rank 1 I decided to use the blood points to level up nurse and spirit instead. As soon as I have stridor three I'll start playing spirit with nurse games in between until I can play both effectively.

Survivor I play very aware and can be really stealthy when I wish too. I always look to help others and will gladly give my life for a save at the end.

Killer I play around and have personal goals. I want as many hooks and points as possible. The end result means little to me as I want to have fun chases as I get more satisfaction from winning a mind game versus a good player than an easy down.

A description of how I play, what I value in each role (survivor / killer), and the results of my games are:

How I play as survivor, what I value as a survivor, and how I perceive my results as a survivor:

As a survivor, I play dynamically. I'm not set on a certain role (e.g. gen jock). I go for whatever I feel I need to do at any given moment in a round. If you were to ask me what I prioritise in a trial as a survivor, it's altruism, as this category not only gives points quickly and easily, it's also the only category that provides WGLF stacks.

My goal is always to score points, while also proving to be a valuable asset to my team. I go for gens when the killer isn't around, I'm not being chased or there are no opportunities to assist a fellow survivor. My playstyle can vary wildly, from being immersed (usually only while injured and on deathhook) to sometimes even cocky (in times where I feel it is required, such as attempting to lure a killer away from an objective / other survivor).

I'd personally say I'm a versatile survivor player with a good enough understanding of the game.

My survivor game results vary wildly. There are games where I feel like a God that can't be caught and that hits every skillcheck as a great one, then there are games where I feel like I should be tossed back into the yellow ranks. Overall though, my games are average and on par with green-purple rank players (on average).

How I play as a killer, and how I perceive my results as a killer:

As a killer, I'm very aggressive. Operating under the "hook-and-forget", and "screw-your-pallet" terms, I chase down my targets with fierce determination. I'm decent at tracking, so losing me for a few seconds won't guarantee you've got rid of me. You best not try and squeeze in a loop you're not certain you can make, I will swing through that pallet and if you're not on point, I will get you. I will also pressure gens quite hard. If I chased you off a gen, I will hit it and then track you down. If multiple people are near a gen, I will not leave it until all of them are injured and scrambled, then chasing my latest target.

I am, however, a provider of fun, within reason. I will not farm with you, but I will not camp you on my own accord. Rest assured, if I do not leave your hook, it is because I have reason to stay there: blame your teammates, I have most likely picked up tracks of their presence. I will not tunnel either. You may be in luck if you face me: if someone unhooks you in front of me, I will chase your teammate instead. If I encounter you, and only you, after you just got rescued, I will knock you down but leave you there: a teammate may rescue you if they are able. If you are cocky enough to self-escape or deliverance off the hook near me, I will do the same. Once I hooked at least one other person, or you were healed back to full health, you best watch out as you are now back on my target list: I will hook you next time I get you.

There are exceptions. I play with an "eye-for-an-eye" mindset in the back of my head. If you deliberately try to ruin a game for me, I will do the same and, for example, I will tunnel you if I am able with no remorse.

My results as a killer vary too, but I get 3 / 4 kills in most of my games. Rarely will I get only 1 or 2 kills, and on very bad days I may get the odd 0 kill game.

Edit: Spoilers are whacky, anyone know how to color text here?

Survivor: I am a decent looper and playing altrustic, but I focus on gens really hard aswell. When the Killer plays toxic, I play toxic aswell. I use adrenaline, d strike, balance and borrow, but only because I always play in swf, I hate playing alone because it is not fun for me when I die mostly because of bad teammates.

Killer: I am a fair Killer (Many ppl just say that, but I mean that srsly). I never tunnel or camp, only if my situation requieres to do that. But I never farm with ppl or let them escape because one guy dcs, only if I see the survivor is really good. I never use op addons or perks especially Noed, noed is not op but for my opinion its really crutch and just a perk for bad killers.

Survivor: My style is to wander around lost a bit, explode a generator within five seconds of touching it, then run away screaming until I die shortly after.

Killer: I'm here to make BP and kill people, in that order. I won't tunnel or camp, but if you're the loud, slow, clumsy guy in the group, you're probably going to die first. Whoever I catch while on patrol goes on the hook. I'll give a warning slug once. Generally I try to focus on technique and awareness over pure viciousness, but if I'm having a bad day I might get on Leatherface and crank up the murder dial to max.

As survivor, I do whatever it takes to make sure my team lives. I'm decent at stalling time when I don't make boosted decisions and have had a few matches where I looped killers for 3-5 gens (the 5 gen was a baby nurse, but to be fair I was still less that 500 hours in the game at that point too so.... eh)

I prefer not to do gens but I'll do them if someone else is in chase. I'm altruistic but not to a stupid extent. Like, if I'm being camped and I tell my friends to just do gens and let me die, they still come anyway and then all of us die like I said would happen. If I know someone is being hard-camped, especially by Bubba, I say sorry and I gen rush. Outside of hard camping though, I will make every attempt to save other people, even if it means I die.

As killer: I play the way I would want killers to play against me, which basically means I don't tunnel unless it's the only person I can find. I don't camp (except for one game where I was doctor and the person had calm spirit and was a pain in the ass to catch). Everything else is fair game.

Survivor: I run to the next gen without hasitation. I mainly hope the killer is chasing me, i wanna kite him around.

Killer: Beeing the friendliest killer around. No tunneling, no camping, always leaving hook even if BBQ tells me otherwise. Almost no Nurse

    Survivor

I prefer to avoid confronting the killer unless I have no choice. I'm usually the guy pounding out gens and I always make sure I take out at least one totem every map. I'm not the best looper, as I prefer to try and shake the killer instead of wasting time. I'll always try to go for at least one rescue a game - and I always take responsibility for my rescues. If I unhook you and the killer shows up, you can bet I'm going to beeline for the killer and buy you time to get away. However, I am not afraid to ditch people who play badly or sandbag their teammates. I despise killers who farm and grit my teeth in frustration anytime I get one.

    Killer

Completely and utterly ruthless. If I'm a killer, I expect no quarter from the survivors, so I give none in return. It's rare that I display mercy. If I do, it's usually because a survivor's team was so utterly and totally trash that I feel bad for the last guy standing and cut him a break. Camping is not my default behavior - I tend to prefer finding another guy to chase as it's more tactically sound as it ties up more survivors. If you rescue with me standing there, I WILL go after the guy being rescued because what you are doing is dumb and it should be punished. If you have borrowed time, it doesn't matter as forcing the mend still buys me time and I still have the option of chasing the idiot who did the dumb rescue.

I play all the killers, but Doc is my main. If you see me on a railgun build, I'm not taking the game seriously anymore and am just memeing.

Survivor1: I play stealthy (Bright clothes too) and try not to be seen by the killer. I am always on a gen, will save if needed. Tries to get everyone out of the trail.

Survivor2: Some days i get tried of playing my normal routine and do a 180 on my play style. I run around, do saves, on a gen when i get the chance, attempts to loop killer.

Survivor: obj of obs player, I bait killers to get chases. I hate spirits more than anything.

Killers: Huntress, I have more than 2 thousand hours with her, so... Me destroy people. I try to not slug and go for 12 hooks, but obviously sometimes I have to play dirtyer. Anyway I prefer to play vs very good experienced survs than a group of boring urban evasion surfers that only hide.

I’m a really altruistic Survivor, to the point where I like to run healing-focused builds. Since I’ve run into a lot of Legion or Plague, I’ve adopted more of a generic all-purpose one. I’m usually the first one on the site to unhook and heal teammates. I do focus on generators as well, and they may take a small priority over saving a hooked Survivor depending on the circumstances. I like cleansing totems where I find them, but I seldom actively seek them out, even when Hex: Ruin is in play. I usually ignore chests unless I’m lacking an item. My play style is usually without regard to how many Bloodpoints I will earn for actions. I am, however, extremely risk-averse, so I’d rather try hiding from a Killer than looping them if they’re nearby. I won’t usually unhook if the Killer is nearby despite usually running Borrowed Time and I would prefer to wait and see if the Killer will leave the area first.

Those portals are f*cking deathtraps- especially paired with the extended seal times and fast recharge- I feel like the xeno from Alien: Isolation- there one second, gone the next- surge kicking in as I down the poor prey that got close to the gens near my nests...

As survivor, I guess I'm a bit of a generalist? I'm not an ascended looper, but I'm not a master Houdini that can disappear just like that either. And most importantly, I'm not consistent in anything. Some days it's like I predict every mindgame killers try on me and I hit pretty much all greats, other days I mindgame myself while running into a wall as I run away from a gen I blew up. It's pretty fun that way though, and on my "good days" I do feel I'm pretty competent. I'm also that guy that will die for you if I have Borrowed Time and it'll let you get out.

As killer I guess I'm pretty "nice" overall. I don't really care that much about end results like kills or pips compared to having chases I find fun, and when I get survivors that actually try to engage in little mindgames I have the most enjoyable matches for me personally. I think people can play however they want but I choose not to tunnel/camp as it's simply not something I find very enjoyable.

I also tend to not use items/addons besides brown ones. Not because I'm against using them, but because I'm a massive hoarder that wants the collections I have on my Ace and Huntress to grow forever.

As a survivor, I just play the game. I loop when needed, do gens when needed, and make saves when needed. The only time I don't care about my team is when they screw me over. Otherwise I follow the "No man left behind" rule even if it means me dying

As a killer, I aim to kill all four in the less painful way possible (most of the time). I don't camp, and I try not to tunnel. But at the end of the day, I am a killer and you get no mercy.

Survivor: I tend to be the looper of the team as I find the chase the funnest part of the game (which is why I dislike Spirit as she takes that fun away). However I know when and where I need to save and do gens.

Killer: I main Freddy so I just try to constantly apply pressure with Pop and BBQ, also it's fun shutting down loops as him with snares.

Survivor- I play what I call my utility build. If I'm not doing gens I'm hunting down lit totems with small game, and saving team mates with borrowed time and/or We'll make it. I suck at looping so I stealth a lot, empathy allows me to gauge if I'm safe to do a gen if someone is being chased and allows me to find injured survivors. Sometimes I'll swap out small game or empathy just to try out different things.

Killer- I'm not great but i can sometimes surprise myself when playing hag. I don't camp or purposely tunnel, though if you run into me after i gave you a chance, you're getting slapped. Usually i try and force people into a 3 gen situation, doesn't always work but when it does...yeah you're all screwed. Mostly I play relaxed and in my own way, safe in the knowledge that my messages are turned off!

Survivor: I try to be the 'jolly' of my team. Most of the times when I soloqueue, i bring aura reading perks to see what my team mates are doing. Gens? I try to get the attention of the killer on me. Crouching on a corner? I try to do gens myself. And so on.

Killer: I obviously try to win, but without scummy tactics (unless the survivors play 'aggressively', in that case I'll go full aggressive mode myself). After all, nurse is very versatile, and can adapt to every kind of opponents

Survivor - Looper/Objective-Focused. Simple, I'm either looping the killer or getting gens done. I don't go for hook saves unless I have to (Ex. 3 survivors left including me, one is on hook while the other is in chase) I am a good looper and can hold a killer for a long time using a minimal amount of pallets and I prefer to be chased over anything else.

Killer - I try when I play killer. I want to win so that means slugging for the 4k and doing whatever I have to do to win.

  • ukenicky
    ukenicky Member Posts: 1,352

Survivor: I try to sneak and blend(ette) to lose the killer as I'm awful at being chased and trying to loop killers. Killers usually pick up on me being the weak link and tunnel me out quickly if they're meanie so this is often bad lol.

Now all that being said I am also very altruistic. I'm usually the first to go for safe unhookings with Kindred + We'll Make It to heal up allies and take protection hits for them. But I'm most comfortable when I'm doing anything other than being chased.

Killer: I'm a nice killer but I will try to get all the survivors usually. If I absolutely murder survivors I take pity on them and let them farm up / escape or give hatch to the last Player alive.

When survivors are disrespectful I just say gg and report them if their behavior goes into actual harassment and or cheating which thankfully is rare lately.

I get way more toxic killers than I do survivors so I try to be a nice killer lol

By nice I just mean I play killer without making everyone die as fast as possible or unfun etc. I have the most fun when I know I scared the crap out of a survivor moreso than kill them lol

Survivor; I am literally everywhere. Every hook save. Every gen completed. The only survivor you are going to chase, and then never catch. I am not going to teabag you. I am not going to click the flashlight I found in a chest at you. I am just going to be impossible to kill. I know every loop. I know every tile. I know exact numbers to your powers. I have already found out your whole build before the end of the second gen. You lost this round before it even started, because I know I am entirely immune so long as I don't make a single mistake - and my role is easy and stress free in comparison to yours.

Killer; I don't care if you just got off hook. I don't care if you have Decisive Strike. I am going to do every single thing that kills you and all the other survivors in the fastest way possible optimizing on every one of your mistakes and singling out the weakest of you first. Plain and simple. The game's already broken in the Survivors favor to the point that you can't even meme as Killer anymore - might as well make the game as painful for you as it is for me.

I try to be altruistic and fun as survivor, not to farm with the killer but maybe make them laugh :)! I try to help out when I can and do objectives, but I always attract the killers to my gens at the very beginning of the match so I end up getting hooked first!

I used to let people go as killer, but I started taking it more seriously when the twins were released and I found out that they are my kind of play style. I only farm if a survivor plays really well or makes me laugh... so I guess very often lol! I can't help it, nice people deserve nice things :)!

As a survivor, I'm always equipping a key and the killer shack hatch offering. I NEVER unhook anybody even if they're on struggle... I just let them all die so I could take the hatch.

    Jokes aside.

As a survivor, I could be the filthy genrusher or the killer's time waster.

As a killer, I'm a non tunneling/non camping kinda killer. If a survivor gives up in my game, I'll let them do a lot for points and then let them go. If they wanna farm, I'll farm but if you're gonna be a toxic tbagger, consider yourself a goner and everyone's taking the escape.
