Not sure any decent killer ever said ruin is useless. It's still a good perk without undying.

That was more around when the ruin rework came out, but people eventually came around to it.
It is good, but it suffers from what all totems suffer from, bad RNG. Meaning it could spawn right next to a survivor.

Thing is, it's RNG, what you get out of it isn't what someone else got out of it.
Most the time the totem spots I come across are ok, not too out in the open. But close enough to a gen to know it'll be found decently soon.
But the one spot I love to get with good rng, is one in lerys, where the totem is in a box facing the wall.

Yeah, though to be fair the mori nerf was pretty bad timing on BHVR's part. Not sure why they couldn't have made the key and mori changes a packaged deal.

That's the thing I question about bhvr's decision-making.
They know how both go hand in hand with each other, so the wisest thing to do was to release both at the same time.
But i don't think the devs think things trough.
They are like the joker from the dark night, they just do.
I don’t think they want to create diversity on dbd, but i don't think they realise that they create it this way.
And i do fear for ruin and undying tho.
They made it very clear with old ruin, they don't want very good perk synergy.
That is, on the killers side at least.
You could basically hear them hinting at it in the Q&A when they talked about briefly.
As well as when they talked about the ranking system between killer and survivor.
"I don't think it is hard to pip as killer, I have more trouble pipping as survivor" 🤦♂️🤷♂️
I fear that there will be coming a nerf to undying in the next few months the same way as with mori or the old ruin.

I believe it. That's why I need to have at least 1 or 2 people I trust when I play because some random survivors are allergic to doing generators. It's like they were born with gen allergies.

Hahaha yeah sometimes I wish I had smarter survivors too.
Don't get me wrong, I play for the chases and not escaping, escaping is just a fun extra.
But when you spent so much time looping the killer and he refuses to leave you alone, but barely any gen got done, than that really annoys me.
It's more annoying when I go play killer and I apply a lot of pressure without tunneling or camping, I get organised teams.
Wether it be solo's or swf, gens keep popping.
And i get those survivors mostly 1 in a 100 matches 😂

The thing is, Ruin/Undying even helps bad Killers. While the change of Ruin was good (effortless Slowdown transferred to Slowdown for Killers who play well), the addition of Undying made it that even Potatoes can get quite good value out of Ruin.
Add Tinkerer, which is a big "Abandon Chase and go there for Slowdown!"-Sign, and basically a Toddler can play that on a high-mobility Killer.

You're telling me that I have to look for totems and destroy them? The game is literally unplayable. But seriously yea every post about undying and ruin people don't wanna run perks to help find totems. They don't even wanna use maps like what? They just like to throw their favorite word "boring" so much that its lost its meaning.

I don't use totem finding perks or maps and still find all the totems.
It's not hard to find them, once you know where they spawn, you just need to remember the spots and next time you can check these out 😉

Man, I've seen all types of em. The weirdest is I've had a few killers in purple ranks that refuse to chase around a pallet loop and they just do this weird thing where they go back and forth but don't commit to fully going around; kinda like a game of pong, just back and forth at an object, but not around.

I hope not, undying/ruin is the most balanced meta there is. Mostly because the dang perks can be outright removed from the match.

You're right, I've had my Undying Cleansed at the Start, Ruin found right after.
It's the reason I run Pop as my 4th perk.
