Survivors hiding by Hatch with key wasting time

Hi this is my first post so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right (sorry) Anyway I just played a match where two Claudettes picked Lampkin Lane and brought a key (I wasn't paying attention in lobby) the match goes on till 2 gens and the claudettes are left. Hatch spawned between a 3 gen so I figured I won. They hid for a good 5 to 10 minutes then when I finally found them they jumped in hatch. They claimed I was babysitting hatch but I left the area multiple times to check on a gen at the end of the street. I have a lot of gripes with this games mechanics, but I can work with keys, moris, map offerings, toxicity, etc. But this is just a waste of time and boring. This reminds me of old DBD without the end game collapse where survivors would just tbag and wait at gates to waste the killers time instead of ending the game. Anybody else have to deal with this?

TL;DR

Had survivors hide by hatch with key just to waste my time.

That sucks dude, nothing you can do though. Toxic survivors only become more and more common.

If the one you're talking about is by Otzdarva I have seen it and I think it is a pretty good Idea.

I hate players who waste time. What those survivors did in your match sounds boring as hell. So yeah, I agree with this video:

The hatch shouldn't spawn unless only one survivor is left alive or all five gens have been completed. It would mean no more hatch camping, and that alone sounds like heaven as both survivor and killer.

I mean, it really should've been this way from the beginning. The whole point of the hatch was to give the last survivor a chance at escape, so why does it spawn before it's down to one survivor? I could understand if mori offerings had come with the current hatch conditions as a counter, but just automatically having the hatch mechanic as it is right now? Nah, this definitely needs to change. Even with DC penalties, survivors will still DC to give the last one the hatch; this change would make that a hell of a lot less effective.

It would be cool if BHVR implemented a *DECAY TIMER* on keys once the hatch spawned.

Just watched the vid. I do like this idea way better.

I dont think killers realize how often keys in games actually help them. As a solo survivor, most of the time my teammates stop playing if they even try at all. They strand two people with one gen to go and take the hatch instead of helping and having all three people have the chance. It happens all the time. I'm sure SWF is annoying, but I don't think it happens as much as keys actually hurt solo survivors. And blame the devs for once again putting a hatch escape challenge in the rift.

Definitely. Idk what people are thinking when they say things like that.

The information in that video is incorrect. If this video came out 5 months ago, yes he is right. But the devs already changed how the hatch spawns. Which is exactly what that YouTuber suggested.

Yeah that is true. I play solo queue survivor a fair amount and do see that a lot. Kinda like the issue with Urban evasion.

not sure how you seem to find this surprising right now, it's gonna happen a lot more frequently for a while and I'm gonna do it myself sometimes just for the lulz if I decide to play again soon. head on, urban evasion, spine chill and ds maybe and I'll just do literally nothing but worm around hiding until the hatch spawns lmao

They need to just do away with the hatch completely. I mean, what is the point of it, really? It's a free escape for the last survivor, which, if it comes to that, it basically means the Killer did their job and won, so, maybe just die with dignity or continue trying to escape the intended way? And for people with Keys, it's a shortcut with no counter other than for the Killer to try and do what they normally do every game.

In either scenario, I've NEVER had a game where people simply open the hatch and jump in, they are ALWAYS waiting for me to show up so they can teabag and taunt me, ALWAYS. And if I don't show up (because I know what they're doing when things go quiet for too long), they start vaulting and slamming doors like crazy to try and get my attention. It's a total gimmick, just remove it...

Exactly. I know this because on the rare occasion I bring a key in. My play styke changes drastically if things are going sideways (with a key compared to without).

Without a key, I'll still try to push gens. I'll try to go for that last unhook or slug.

With a key, nah. I'll just look for the hatch. Sorry boys and girls.

Well whatever floats your boat. I don't really care about the toxicity, sure it can be frustrating at times but sadly it's kinda the norm with this game. What I do care about is having to look for Claudettes for 5+ minutes on a map I hate just for them to leave through hatch. Everything else is fine, DS doesn't really effect me, urban evasion is a joke, head on usually gets me free hooks, and idk about spine chill ig that means it works haha.

I see your point but I think if they remove the hatch the devs would have to replace it with some other second chance option for the last survivor. Gens aren't really an option unless the last gen is almost done, and even then it's more beneficial to leave it alone as to not give away your position. I think if they removed hatch they'd have to make doors spawn farther away from each other to give the survivor a fighting chance. I'm no idea man but I think fixing keys and when the hatch spawns is the best idea.

oh I didn't mean remove the hatch, it should spawn whent he lasts urvivor is alive or the exit gates are powered, the key just should not be able to open it any longer until the exit gates are powered or there is only one survivor remaining alive to make them fair with moris no longer giving an early kill versus the key's early escape. the hatch should spawn as usual, just not be able to be opened until one survivor is left alive or the gates as powered a smentioned, but should be able to still be reopened too once the killer closed it by using a key. But allowing early escapes still, considering the lack of enthusiasm it seems there is to play killers now especially, gonna be bad for a long time at least till the next new killer comes for the queue times unfortunately if they continue allowing early swf escapes.

Oh ok. Yeah sounds like a good idea. I see at least 1 key a day and I only play around 3 matches. It's really frustrating. I also just played a match with Plunderer's instinct and all 3 chests had keys, 2 purple and 1 pink. Keys really ruin the game rn imo.

Yeah I played 3 or 4 matches last night with elodie or whatever her name is t check out the sweater, first time I playe din a while by now but I wanted to stockpile the 300k login bonus too. I used plunderer's ina couple of the matches and got a purple key out of the firstc hest opened in the first match I used it in and she only has tier 2 plunderer's LUL. back during the no dc periods, one of the last ones, I played around with builds including no mither and also plunder/ace builds and found pink keys even so often that it kept me playing even though there was often a dc or two in many matches I had.

It would have been nice before they were hit so hard if a killer could have equipped a pair of perks that frequently gave them mori and colored power addon capability in the middle of a match out of nowhere without the warning being burned on the offering screen for the lulz. I imagine survivors would have lit the forums and steam discussions up more than portland over something like that.
