When you don't play meta, survivors become crybabies.
I was watching a streamer the other day, he was trying off-meta builds that his viewers suggested for him, and he decided to play semi afk wraith. The idea of the build was to mori the obsession with rancor, and then get a new obsession with nemesis, then repeat. Admittedly, it was really fun to watch.
He ran up to a swf, which found him and flashlight blind him, successfully ruining his plan since the obsession gave away what he was doing. The purposely 99% a gen, and he decided to slug till they are bored, or they're forced to finish the gen so the game can begin.
2 people died on the floor, bled out. One died on the hook, and one survivor escaped. The swf, as expected, came on stream and started saying nonsense, like they can ban him for this, that he technically didn't win cuz he pipped, ect.
I don't think it's a bannable offense because he didn't play as they wanted, I did a bit of research and I didn't find any proof it's bannable. So the swf just kept crying on chat for half an hour cuz they were tilted.
Tldr: if you don't play meta the entitled survivors will turn into crybabies. Run bbq,corrupt,pop and nurse's otherwise you're reported.
Admittedly, I just wanted to talk about my experience with these dumbos, the forum has no real reason to exist :)

So what you're saying is that the vocal minority that wants all of those perks to be nerfed have a temper tantrum when you don't run them? Gee it's almost as if they're a bunch of hypocrites that shouldn't be listened to

I hard disagree.
My Myers runs Rancor/Nemesis/Furtive Chase/Deathbound. I get compliments.
My Pyramid Head runs Nemesis/Dark Devotion/Ruin/Blood Warden. They seem to like it.
My Blight runs Hex: Retribution/Thrill of the Hunt/Undying/Discordance. They really want to cleanse those totems...you know?
My Trapper is meta but...I normally play him to destroy, not to play. (I play around anyway but don't tell anyone.)
It's all in the execution. Of course, and people will be executed whether they like the builds or not.

Approve of the weird totem build, have had a surprising amount of survivors die desperately trying to cleanse my thrill of the hunt/haunted grounds combo on sniper doc

Why didn't the streamer just ban them from the chat? Wouldn't that be the most obvious thing to do?

AFK or semi-AFK builds are ######### miserable to deal with. It's understandable that people get upset by someone refusing to play the game til they have their powerspike.
Not trying to justify anything, just giving perspective.

Yeah, no, playing against farming killers or AFK killers who only come out at the end of the game is incredibly boring. No one should feel ashamed for thinking that. If I go against a killer who is acting weird, I just tell the friends I'm playing with to cleanse every single totem and make sure the gate doesn't get opened until we are sure nobody will hit us with Blood Warden, and be careful if they are the obsession. If playing like that is your idea of fun, cool. But you're gonna have to work really hard to have fun at the end of the game with your plan if you couldn't even give a real game for the rest of it.

Running an AFK Wraith build isn’t “not playing meta”. Nobody cares if you run an off-meta build, but doing something cheesy like AFKing all match so you can mori the Obsession at the end is about as much fun as a survivor hiding all match so they can key out once their teammates are dead.
Being vitriolic to someone is not okay but don’t make out like all survivors are screaming at killers for not running meta perks, when that clearly wasn’t their issue.

dude killer is afk for 5min and holding m1 isnt funniest part of dbd xd i would booli someone that makes me mindlesly hold m1 too i want fun chases i want to do sth in game xd if youre going afk screw you

There's a guy in YouTube who makes DbD vids. He has 3 videos on semi AFK killers beating survivors. One thing I noticed is that the survivors were committing really terrible mistakes. They were
1. Herding around a seemingly AFK Oni without knowing whether or not he has his power
2. Opening the basement chest
3. Taunting a motionless Myers even though he makes a noise notification when he tiers up
4. And not exiting quick enough
As expected, the survivors were all very salty but it was obvious that it was mostly their mistake.

I got hate for Calurophobia/Distressing Calm Doctor. Also for running surge once or twice.
Some people are iddiots. A killer raged at me for stealth juking with that Nancy walk speed perk the other day.

Because an AFK killer is boring as #########. “Winning” against an AFK killer by doing all gens in 3 minutes and immediately leaving is the least satisfying “win” you could ever have.

Here's the thing :
1. You got a period of time where one wrong move can result in a loss. Isn't that an adrenaline inducing moment? (Both in-game and real life)
2. Even if you win, why are you complaining? You won! Do you want your boldness points or something?
3. If you win, you basically proved that AFK isn't viable and there's a chance you convinced a person to quit that playstyle you hate so much

I watched Stalky Boi do the AFK Myers bait and switch on Youtube and tried it out. It works. :) But largely it was boring to stand there while silly people kept walking in front of me to try and earn free chases. It was neat to try once or twice, but I can't imagine ever doing it as a primary hunting style. Playing a Venus Flytrap isn't that exciting.

I play DBD to actually play DBD. An AFK killer isn’t playing the game, that’s why it’s reportable.
