A friend of mine has now been banned for 24 hours because her game connection failed, the game before a different friend of mine was banned only for five minutes but also because the game kicked him out..and is there anyway this can be fixed? I don't really know where to post this but I think its unfair for people to be banned because of the game kicking them out... its quite unnerving..

There is no way for the system to tell if someone left the match genuinely by internet cutting out or by "pulling the plug" that's why DC penalties are applied across the board. Also, you have to have a lot of DC's before a 24hr ban is applied.

I know it was the game kicking her because she was still streaming when jt happened and my other friend still remained in the party..

Nope only way to get a 24hr ban is by frequently disconnecting from the game. No way for the system to tell if it's a system crash or an intentional leave.
If she having frequent disconnects because of her network then she should try to get it resolved to avoid any more crashes.

Why a pile of garbage system this is we paid for this game and dlc how can you think it's alright to ban people when you yourself admit you cant tell if someone did it intentionally or not. I would say until you implement a system that can tell the difference between a power outage or network problem or and angry person leaving you should scrap this ban system asap. It doesnt improve this game at all I just watch more people suicide on hook.
We paid for this game dont ban us for things that can and mostly are network glitch or power outages

Instead of banning folks (since they have no way to accurately determine the cause), I'd prefer they simply award remaining survivors additional bloodpoints - right now, the 600 that gets awarded in no way makes up for the loss of a teammate, let alone if more than one "abandons." If someone DCs, give folks more bloodpoints to ease the pain of having to carry on without the additional teammate/s.

with the recent changes this is one of those times where they oughtta give a three dc per 24 hour period leeway for a while

The vast, vast majority of DCs I witness are immediately after a survivor gets caught and downed. I'm sorry but I refuse to believe they "mostly are network glitches or power outages".

If this game was free I would say yes go ahead and ban people all you want. Otherwise I would say its illegal to ban people from content when they themselves admit the system cant tell the difference from Acts of God power outages or angry players leaving. I would say your at risk of a class action lawsuit.

As your attorney I advise you to read the EULA.

exactly my thought! (the EULA-Thing, not the attorney thing)

What an amazing coincidence! I nailed that Dwight with Pyramidhead's Judgement and the second his body hit the floor he disconnected!
Technology sure is funny.

As others have mentioned we do have the EULA.
The fact that there's no way to ever tell if someone intentionally shuts down their device or pulls the plug (nor can there be), is why the penalty applies across the board - it's still ruining the game for the 4 other players in the match.

Ok so it's fine to ban people for things out of their control when the bans havent fixed the problem anyways. Your lowering the player base and pissing the people off who aren't dcing deliberately. Like now I'm at the point where I can say I'm uninstalling and never doing business with your games again. Thank you behaviour I love you I love you long time.

All kidding aside, there is something about Pyramid Head that causes my controls to cut out and go bonkers. Could he also cause somebody to disconnect? It’s a possibility, but I wouldn’t count on it. But I could see somebody getting angry enough at the game for controls that keep cutting out whenever in close proximity to the killer.

Yes I just bought cyberpunk thank you behaviour for ending this game for me. Good bye I love you long time behaviour.

We went against pyramid one time today and it was early this morning but she really didn't leave she was pissed she made a new account and she played on that🤷🏼♀️

See thats what my problem is it hasnt personally happened to me but once it does and I have to wait yknow 5 minutes or watever im not goona be that mad but I sure won't be happy about it

See every person I've played with doesn't leave they get lagged out they aren't even being chased half the time because they don't want to get banned, most people don't want to get banned.
0 -
Well they usually just kill themselves on hook, most disconnects are usually survivors who are salty and DC as soon as a killer picks them up, or a killer right when the last gen pops haha.

I have DC'd occassionally thanks to network issues. I have never been banned. The keyword is occasional. If she is getting 24 hour bans that's some heavy DC'ing she's doing on a habitual basis. I haven't even hit the 5 minute ban mark. She seriously only has herself to blame if she is getting 24 hour bans.
If she is DC'ing enough to get banned that much she's either a serial DC'er whenever she gets hosed by the opposition, or her internet is so bad it keeps cutting out. Both are issues on her end which can be fixed.

I tend to drop frames when I'm chasing survivors on a loop and in bloodlust and most likely going to get a hit. I don't have an amazing laptop just a mid grade gaming laptop from 2017. I don't think I need an 1500 dollar machine to play a 40 dollar game. It is annoying to get cheated out of hits because its game changing to miss a down in bloodlust. Same issue happens occassionally when I'm following a survivor 360. Recently I've had problems with console survivors just teleporting into think freaking air. I generally stop and run a speed test and I'm usually 30ms ping or better with 20MBps or better.

Personally I preferred the game without the DC ban. Yeah some games got ruined by DCs but the same thing is accomplished now regardless of whether you DC or not. I also have gotten several short bans for not loading into the game, which is a little irritating.

Your friend DC too often. The penalty is cumulative starting at 5 mins. So 24 hrs is A LOT of leaving mid match. If it's internet related then they NEED to fix their internet. It's not fair to anybody in a multiplayer team based game if your internet gives out frequently.
1 -
Its not internet related because she was able to keep streaming and stay in the party? But I guess she admits she used to DC a lot until she found out there was a penalty now she avoids it like im sure a lot of other people?

See I've never Dcd so the one time I did sure I was lagged out for a whopping 5 minutes but it was totally the game, randomly I was blue screened and that ticked me off because I have never purposely left that game granted alot of people have, but I think it should restart weekly, because she has been avoiding leaving since they changed it and the game has just blue screened her so much shes a player that plays all day everyday and streams it; she wouldn't leave knowing she could be banned yknow?
0 -
You have never been banned? See does the banning go back before they added it? Because she used to DC a lot but she told me when they changed that she stopped from fear of being banned, its not her internet she keeps being blue screened, along with a different friend of mine happened 3 times but he was also only at 15 minutes, but does it back lash to before the ban became a thing?
0 -
So 24h ban, huh? Thats alot of "random dcs". Imagine how many survivors got their game ruined because of this? I would prefer dbd to lose small portion of people with dc problems, than to get a dc at the first down every game.

The EULA says that anyone can be banned at any time for any reason. And that pay2win items can be sold in the game at will. Are you sure you want to bring up the EULA to shut down an argument on the forums, especially when the second half of your post accomplishes that already in a much cleaner way?

It's in response to the previous posts @Madjura and yes I am comfortable with my response.

The game has never been better since I uninstalled it.
