So far, no character has been confirmed as LGBT yet, but it's something the Dev's have expressed a want to be more inclusive with their characters.

We don’t know. And that is good because it means they didn’t create an LGBT char just for being LGBT. Which is somehow still a reason for many to be anti inclusion, even though it’s already debunked.

some speculate it may be Nea (probably because she is not typically feminine) or David (he had a girlfriend at some point in his life though, maybe still bi)

Dwight is 10/10 locker twink tbh

They haven't announced anything about it yet. They've said they want to make sure they do it right and not just make a token character.

Sexuality is not important in a game like this. Mass Effect, maybe. Not a game where Killers murder each and every Survivor.

Unless you are eager for the woke headline of "HORROR MOVIE GAME NOW ALLOWS YOU TO FREELY MURDER LGBT CHARACTERS" that would surely arise from it.

My guess, based on your tone-deaf response, is you do not identify as LGBT. If all the characters were female, would you feel the need to lobby for male characters? Your answer proves whether or not your acting hypocritical.

No, I wouldn't. I'd be fine with an all female roster. None of these traits are relevant. At that point you could create any number of endless intersectionality boxes.

    Where is the trans character?

Where is the character from Ecuador?

Where is the character recovering from an opiate addiction?

    Where is the autistic character?

You could run that hamster wheel forever, all pointless in a game that involves the premise of "Did you get stabbed or not?". This isn't Dragon Age, where those themes are relevant.

Neither is this game. Especially when 90% of the voice acting work that wasn't done by the Narrator or Bruce Campbell is unintelligible yelling, grunting, screaming in pain, or exertion based huffing and puffing.

It is relevant for some players and it is relevant for the creators. So let them add it. And let people ask for representation, it literally doesn’t hurt anyone and does not affect gameplay.

there have been defined established characters with backstories, characteristics etc from the beginning. The writers already created an LGBT char, because they wanted to. BHVR just didn’t want to confirm it, but since they have gone deeper and more detailed with the lore they don’t want to restrict themselves anymore.

and it will always be just something for backstory/lore/tomes.

You forgot about Felix and that terrible section from his story. That part about his GF being pregnant.

---Mini-rant about Felix's story incoming. Please ignore it.---

Its insane. I have a ton of issues with Felix's story (mainly it is poorly written, Felix makes no sense as a character and there are a lot of pointless side bits to make it longer.)

One way it would make sense is if they tied it into him "playing" at being this other person when he's actually gay, or something. This would explain why he "feels like a phony" and why he "play-acts" for people. Instead, they are saying he is actually anti-social and hates it all. Another way would be to lean more into him being a functioning alcoholic, but his drinking is mentioned once and as a way for him to further his persona while also trying to deal mentally and emotionally with this persona.

As written, imo, he isn't "playing" at his life. He isn't "pretending" to be this cool, straight architect who is sociable and friendly. That's who he is. He wants to be a father, he wants this life, but they write in that he actually doesn't and is an alcoholic who wants nothing to do with anyone but has a ton of parties. Someone who has social anxiety and is antisocial would not throw a ton of parties to deal with their anxiety about being this false parting cool dude. This would make it worse. They would avoid it all because they would be drained and unable to do it until they recharge. The pregnant GF thing just further cements my confusion of who Felix is.

TL;DR imo its a mess and nonsensical. He isn't play-acting anything.

Yeah Felix's backstory is pretty garbage. Very long and boring to read, with a really sad attempt at making him sympathetic that ultimately falls on its face because it contradicts itself so often. Honestly the lore for DBD is really pointless: Long winded backstories that end up being totally irrelevant to gameplay and deliver mixed messages even when you seperate it from gameplay. It's very weak.

I pretend it doesn't exist, which is easy because their "lore" is completely irrelevant and it's painfully obvious they're making it up as they go along. They never expected anyone to want a story when they started making this game, that's why the early killers are so generic. lol.

there never was any LGBTIQ+ character confirmation

this was only made because Felix was going to be the next survivor, and in his lore his girlfriend is mentioned, because straight sexuality is included too on what the comunication here told us.

Nea has always seemed gay to me, that's why she's my main :)

Then why isn't every character a white man? Diversity matters. It's probably nice for you that you can see yourself represented everywhere, but it's the not case for a lot of us.
