Redeem Codes That Expire Are Dumb

I find it obnoxious that there are so many codes that expire in the store. Like why? I can understand the concept of having things that show off that a player was active during a certain season or year I suppose. But what is the deal with the codes expiring after a week? During Christmas 2020 just put up all 6 or whatever codes for the holiday and let them all last for 6 weeks so players don't have to keep going to the store tab.

Stuff like bloodpoint codes should never expire. God knows this game is too grindy. If a new player can use up all the codes that older players have used then that is a good thing imho. Catching up to the older players would be an absolute nightmare at this point. Hell, I would be 100% fine with new players who just bought the game receiving a one time new player redeem code worth 10,000,000 bloodpoints.

They're limited rewards for a reason. The sweater codes this month for example are free offers that depend on you using the given codes before your chance for free content is up. Wouldn't really be a special deal if the codes lasted indefinitely, cosmetic or not.

The cosmetics gotten through codes for the advent calander will be coming to the store at a later date, like all of the other Christmas ugly sweaters. This is just your chance to get them for free.

In general, I agree. But for cosmetics that will be going into the store at a later date, it's fair game, imo. Plus they told us the layout before the month began so that we could tell which days to look.

It would have been better to have them log in to get the reward than put in a code. But it makes you go to the store which means you might buy something so I see why they did it this way. Just frustrated in the execution since I missed a couple due to illness

The thing is,why are they giving the cosmetics through codes that expire after a few days instead of just giving them to everyone at the start of the winter event like they usually did?

That would have been the better way to do it imo.

The Frosty Eyes I agree with, and they'll probably be given for free at the end, but the sweaters usually cost money so them giving them for free and then getting them paid later I'm down for.

Well to be fair. The Sweaters aren't for free usually. Just hitting the store and I wouldn't be surprised, if some of the Sweaters will hit the store some time in the future as well. Only the Frosty eyes were for free.

I would make the argument that annoying your customers isn't a good way to retain them as customers.

Someone is salty they forgot to put in their code 👀

As long as they keep a specific code active for at least a couple of days I'm fine with them, because if you care about the game you should keep yourself informed somewhat regularly.

The game is grindy, yes, but keeping older BP codes active is not the way to solve the problem..

The thing about the social media bit is that you didn't have to do that. They posted the codes and their dates on the in-game news tab.

Anyone remember when events were fun and rewarding instead of grinding?

Yeah, uh... They stopped doing events, so now everything is like, DIY or whatever. It was kinda disappointing, I forgot which days some of the sweaters were and I missed Felix and Zarina. It's supposed to show on the in-game news each time you log in, but my news thing must be busted because it pops up maybe 25% of the time? Sometimes I forget it exists.

Having them expire after a day isn't good. Its not even a week. I tried a code a day or two after and it was expired. The codes themselves are an annoying concept and are overused. There was nothing wrong with getting the ######### on log in.

I just find it stupid how we have to enter codes fullstop. Like seriously, at the most just make all the gifts login bonuses. We shouldn't have to go searching around for these codes, especially when we are forced to watch people on Twitch we don't want to just to get something we want in the game. We are playing your game, just give us the items...

I’m ok with limited time codes, as long as it’s a couple days each time so everyone has a fair shot of seeing it.

What I’m NOT ok with is limited quantity codes. Essentially the only people who get those are the ones who live/eat/breathe DBD and see the code first.

You lost your cosmetics when unlinking your account? Strange, when I unlinked mine I was expecting to lose all of the clothes I got since the time that I linked it but it kept them all. The only thing I lost was character levelling progress, perks I bought in the shrine and player level progress.

I prefer the limited time codes to limited use codes, but I would rather there were some other method of earning the reward. This year, we're all stuck at home, so it doesn't bother me as much -- next year, hopefully people will be able to travel for the holidays again, and I hope they do something different, that doesn't require immediate access to a computer.

I'm okay with the concept of reward codes that only last for a limited time (in regards to things like BP, Shards, and event cosmetics/charms).

But I'm not a fan of how briefly all the Eyes/Sweater cosmetic codes are available. 2-3 days is a very tight redeem window, especially during the holidays when most people are enjoying some time off with their families. I feel that these simply could have been offered as code pairs for each week of the month instead. As they currently are, you basically have to boot up the game every day to make sure you aren't missing out on something...

Limited within reason, surely they should give you more time to redeem. I missed some of these cosmetics because it's one of the only games I've played where I only have 24 hours to redeem a reward. I usually miss them due to not being able to play that day, which I know isn't games fault, but they should give you more time to redeem these. Possibly 3 days? Or at least until the new redeem code is out. If I'm not wrong, there was a weekly cosmetic that expired in 24 hours. Seems like poor design to me. Shouldn't I at least have until the new one is out? What makes those other 6 days so special?
