If the killer doesn't make mistakes tracking you, you're kinda helpless.
But for me the whole "no counterplay" argument is flawed, because if a survivor doesn't make mistakes while they're looping you (assuming you fall into the majority of m1 killers) then you're also kinda helpless.

For me personally, I don't like her power. There is zero counter to it. Every other killer has some kind of a counter. Trapper - Disable traps, Wraith - Lightburn, Ghostface - Stare at him. The list goes on. Spirit, nothing. You have to guess when she's about to unphase on you, and maybe hope a pallet can stun her, or she misses. And the fact she can just stand still and fake her power for a free hit. She's not super OP, but it does seem pretty unfair there's not much you can do to counter her Phasewalk when you can barely tell where she's about to come from.

okay okay , good , diversion can counter if you use ironwill but if spirit use stridor .... that's hard

1. No real counterplay, you are just relying on the killer to screw up
2. Haunting recharges pretty damn fast, making the spirit extremely mobile. 4.4 movement speed is also enough for chasing normally so you're not even forced to use the power to get hits
3. Haunting makes tracking incredibly easy by basically muting everything else but the survivors, stridor is absolutely unnecessary though it does counter iron will

-No counterplay on your side. You just hope the killer messes up, there's nothing you can do.
-Her add-ons are absolutely ######### busted. Chuck on Yakuyoke+MDR or the green Duration + Movement speed add-ons, it's absurd.
-She has no real skill floor. I play spirit very very rarely. Half of my headset doesn't work. I'm normally in a call with very loud people. I still constantly 3k+hatch/4k almost every single game, with a lot of those games being 32k points and NOED or RuinDying nowhere in sight. She doesn't take skill to play as.
-Stridor on her is stupid and should be removed as soon as possible.
-There is absolutely zero reliable tell as to when she is using her power across all of her skins.
Her passive phasing is the one thing I don't mind. I think it's kinda neat.

Because she doesn't necessarily have to rely on survivors mistakes AND she forces a different play style. Regular looping does not work!

-Braindead looping won´t work
-lack of feedback and cues when she uses her power
-she has agency in the chase
-broken addons, making her the strongest Killer imo
-too easy to play for how strong she is, similar to Freddy

She’s the only killer in the game that gives you no info on what she is doing.
As much as I hate fighting nurse and slinger at least I can see what they are doing and try to act accordingly

eben if she misses she doesn’t have a fatigue or cooldown so if I outplay her(guess right) she just gets back on me in mere seconds
also hate her moaning sounds but that’s beside the point

Her tendency to tunnel and to always go back to hooks the moment there is an unhook.

Same reason they don’t like Deathslinger? Their power isn’t fun to play against and lacks interaction on their side.

Pyramid Head wasn't nerfed #########? The changes that were made to his M2 cooldown did almost nothing, and the reduced cooldown on his ranged attack makes it even spammier than before. You can still do the lose-lose BS with him at every pallet and window.

Because there is no interaction against her, playing against her is just a gamble (oh yes there are counters to spirit players that don't have a lot of experience with her like dropping pallets randomly when she's probably so inexperienced that she didn't even know you were there or walking instead of running which will work because said spirit doesn't like ear-bleeding just to win in a game but when it comes to experienced spirits that use stridor and have good sound settings good luck with those fancy counters). She has addons that make her power exponentially stronger even with common addons, a lot of her addons are really strong and some straight out bs. On top of that everyone uses her with braindead builds like unruin corrupt stridor which on a killer like spirit outside tourments is quite vicious.

Its not that she has no counter play, she does but its complete guess work. You have no way of knowing if what you're doing is actually fooling her.
I honestly wouldn't mind if that sound bug she had was part of her kit

I don't like that the only real counterplay against Spirit is to play against a bad Spirit.

After reading some of these comments let me ask this.
Why is it ok for killers to rely on survivor's mistakes, but it's not ok for survivirs to rely on killers to make a mistake?
Why is it ok for killers to guess, but it's not ok for survivors to guess?
Why does every killer have to be loopable?
90% of killer gameplay is guessing and hoping that every move you make is the right one, but when it comes to a killer that is rewarded for playing well and forces survivor's to play differently its a problem.

Every time she phases -- which you have no idea when she does as she can just be standing there -- it's a complete guessing game for the survivor while the Spirit just has to run at them with headphones cranked up to tinnitus-inducing levels to get hits the survivor really can't do anything about without iron will if they're injured or step through grass/corn.
She also punishes you harder than any other killer for playing "noisy" survivors like Jane, Jeff, Ash, and Yui while having a much harder time tracking quiet ones like Ace and Felix, which is kind of dumb imo.
Also doesn't help that Spirit players seem to have a reputation for usually tunneling off hook the most.

I don't believe you're asking the right questions.
The peak of the game is the chase. The interplay between survivor and killer, where the man has to outwit the monster. In the interest of this, and making the game more fun, each side should have equal opportunity to outplay one another. Through sound cues from each side, through their tools, through their tricks and traps, a survivor and a killer should have the ability to mindgame one another and come out on top. The killer should be more rewarded for coming out on top, but the survivor should have equal chance to outsmart the other.
When a killer watches someone run to a T wall window and reverse moonwalks, he's making a read on the survivor. The survivor, in turn, can see that there's no red stain on either side and has to read what kind of killer they're against. Is he clever enough to moonwalk? Is he expecting the slow vault back and reverse moonwalk? Is he mad enough to simply run straight ahead? Both sides are capable of reading the other and coming out on top-- the killer rewarded with pressure, the survivor rewarded with precious more seconds of life.
This is the Killer's lot. You don't rely on mistakes, you force them. You put your mind and your powers to clever use and force survivors to make bad decisions and bad reads.
And this is fair, because both sides have information. Killers, breathing, injured sounds, footsteps and bloodstains. Survivors, red stain, terror radius, footsteps and sound cues.
And then there's Spirit.
Killers, breathing, injured sounds, footsteps, bloodstains.
Survivors, nil.
Now the outplay AND the reward is on the killer's side. And even if it weren't, what can you do? She moves at 176% speed and has an incredible lunge, the only punishment for missing being not being able to do it again for another 15 seconds. Your only defense is a lucky guess, but not for long. Now, your skill and wits are irrelevant as a survivor. Once the Spirit is good enough, she WILL get you. It's just a matter of whether or not you get a lucky roll or two in the meantime.
And that's the crux of it.

Survivors have ways to counter her unlike nurse that can’t be countered by perks

For nurse you're required to use dead hard or rely on her mistakes. Freddy can just make any loop unusable, teleport to gens. You will lose if you don't have borrowed time against the twins. Ghostface can stalk you while you are staring at him or he crouch reset you. Pyramid head makes vaults and pallets a suicide. Huntress can hit you from afar. Leatherface only has to get close to you. For hag you're required to use urban evasion and borrowed time.
Why is spirit so unfair compared to these few examples?

Because although you're examples are great none of those are no win situations or killers if they don't make a mistake! Even with the Nurse there is a still an amount of survivor side counterplay (no matter how many people like to say otherwise) because you have to be smart and calculated with your movements, calculate where the nurse is calculating that your gonna go and dont go there!
All other situations there have workarounds or counters that arent perk based!

No, but i would immediatly buy the dlc and that skin if it were in the game. the reason I dont like spirit is i dont have a proper gaming chair and cant counter spirit

Because there's no playing differently. You stealth against a spirit and she will get a 4k maybe 3k if you stealth so well to find the hatch.
Nurse doesn't have to rely on survivor's mistake and she isnt anywhere close as annoying as spirit.
Add to this that the experience to perform at the same level as a good nurse is 1/10 with spirit and you'll know why many people don't like spirit.

Nuanced killer design that feels oppressive because survivor options outside of looping is trash. Thats the core of the issue many will cliam spirits the issue no killer design like hers is unique and pushes boundaries. Survivor gameplay is the same tripe and needs innovation. Where's the glyphs that were promised why does every unique new survivor option come in the shape of a perk. The last quality of life update for survivor was lockers. We need more options like this not another perk to slot into our bloated builds. Yes nerf the busted crap keys, undying, ruin, unbreakable and ds. There's so much I would do. Not release another chapter that does nothing but breaking 6 or eight killers. If you need money stick with the cosmetics there clearly rolling in the money not that I care.
I know its ranty but I just hate seeing the community go nerf the unique concept of a killer as opposed to maybe examining the survivor role that desperately needs (unique passives)survival traits, slinger spirit hell the twins are gimped by odd restrictions just because it all has to play with a desperatly limited tools set opponents
