What's up with coldwind?
...what's up in your mind buddies?
Yall right? Because it's pretty certain you really like to abuse of all those things which create frustration and eventually get nerfed: flashlight macro spam, keys (even tho the nerf is super duper close) and abuse of broken maps such as Thompson house and Cowshed, this last with even 4 path pallets, cow loop, shack, cowshed Itself and 4 jungle gyms.
Devs pls after holidays and covid do something quick

To be honest, as a killer main, Thompson's House is the least problematic of the Coldwind bunch. On the other hand Rotten Fields for me is simply the worst map on the game, only followed by Fractured Cowshed. These maps are disgusting. It's jungle gym after jungle gym after god pallet after cow loop after shack after jungle gym... Not even talking about the bliding corn tho.

As deathslinger I can't ######### see anything oh rotten fields and all the other farm maps pretty much.

This is the realm where Billy got bullied as a child LUL

Ppl don't understand and would disagree. But dead by daylight is all about abuse. If ur not abusing something, ur not playing dbd.
4 -
At least I can say about something remarkable about the other Cooldwind Farms. Rotten Fields is just corn with infinite god loops. I wouldn't put your expectations high on it's rework tho. People say that the next killer will probably be a licensed one and if it is, I think that BHVR will release a new map instead of doing another rework. Just my speculation tho.

Oh so if a killer can abuse how small the map is and basically find any survivor super quick (like dead dawg), they MUST abuse it, so he will win guaranteed, and if a survivor can loop a killer and the killer can't do anything about it (On rottenfields) for ages, they MUST abuse it and they basically win? So you're saying: Survivor sided map? Abuse it, Killer sided map? Abuse it.
That is NOT balancing, that's just making both side frustrated, like it is now.
4 -
Dbd will never be balanced. Dead dawg is a survivor sided map and it is not small. It's my favorite map.
And yes, abuse what u can, just do it. Close ur eyes and just do it.

Youre right, and more and more people are catching on to Dead Dawg being a good survivor map as well. I see more offerings for it now by survivors who clearly know how to run it.

Whenever I depip as killer. Whatever map it is that I depiped on, I will use a map offering to play that map again. In this way I get more familiar with the maps and the more familiar I am with a map the more likely I am to be able to do well on it in the future. I'd recommend this for any killer main. It doesn't necessarily need to be a depip. Maybe if you get under a certain number of hooks, or maybe if you failed to hook all survivors, but I can't recommend this enough.

What do you mean? Rotten Fields is fine. There's nothing broken about jungle gym into cow tree into jungle gym into safe pallet into another cow tree. But then a giant void surrounding shack. Incredible gameplay if the survivor knows what they're doing and you're an M1 killer. I genuinely question whether the map designers actually play DbD sometimes.

Exactly. With deathslinger it's a real pain in the butthole, because 2/3 gens are completely inside the corn and you can't shoot at distance

Uhm i guess i will thank survivors for the map offering than.

Dead dawg is super small its only 136 Sq as compared to say Torment Creek which is average sized at 169 Sq.
1 -
Tbh I feel like the corn should be a "consumable" resource.
If you or the killer step on the corn, it bends down that piece and stays down for the remainder of the map.
Not only would that help the problem but it would be really cool to see patterns and paths forming in the game as it went on, as well as clear spots where vision stops being obscured.

Two words.
Disturbed Ward. The mere fact that the main building still exists is a travesty.

"Dead dawg [is] not small"
Saloon in the 3rd smallest map in the game, tied with Rancid Abattoir. But sure, it's not small.
3 -
I dunno what you guys are on about, as killer I only play two different map types, auto haven & Ormond.

If ur data is true, and it is in fact, the 3rd smallest map, than I stand corrected. I am totally wrong.
But that map certainly does not feel small as I perform best in that map. From 1 corner to the other corner seems pretty far.
The saloon and the shack being in the middle, also right next to each other, add the surrounding buildings, it's still a survivor sided map.
U still got to add the tiles from the multiple buildings if we're talking about square tiles. I mean ur pretty immune if ur on the 2nd floor as the killer needs to go inside the building, up the stairs, than go around to the exterior side. By that time, the survivor is long gone.

Run from one corner of DDS to another, then run from one corner of Mother's Dwelling to another and tell me the difference in time.

I mean... during the last Q&A they said the next one will be "Soon trademark" which DOES imply the next license will have a map with it.

Said no killer until recently lmao (in regards to Ormond at the very least)

It has the potential to spawn only jungle gyms and the pretty safe short wall loops. It's also MASSIVE. It's gotta go before Coldwind imo
0 -
I feel like Thompsons House in its current state is more bearable than it was before. I hope that either the Coldwind maps or the Asylum maps are up next for a rework though because Rotten Fields, Asylum and Fractured Cowshed really are poorly designed imo.
3 -
Well I can tell you that most M1 Killers hate Crotus Penn because it is seriously a pain. :) Rotten Fields is rough (but still hate Crotus more). Oddly enough I do ok at the Fractured Cowshed. Everyone says how strong it is, but I guess I've gotten poor Survivors when I pull it.

Rotten Fields, the map with 7 pallets?
0 -
Source? Also, it's not necessarily the number of pallets that makes a map strong, as there is other factors that come in place, such as how safe the loops are, how big the map it's, etc.
Solo, this data is kinda old, but I have reasons to bring it up. First, the devs haven't show the kill rates on maps recently, so this is the best we've got. Second, the safest maps haven't been reworked since then, so it's likely that their issues are still existing today. As we can see, the worst map for killer at that time was Rotten Fields, followed by Fractured Cowshed and then Haddonfield.

Sorry but git gud. All this whining gets old.
Rotten Fields is not broken unless you can't see in the corn. There is no endless maze of jungle gyms to loop around. It is an easy killer map other than being so large it makes patrolling gens hard. It's basically Shelter Woods but with corn. If corn is a problem I get it, but don't say it's endless jungle gym after jungle gym. The gyms at the edges are in a line and very predictable to mindgame the survivor. The map barely has any palletes is a gigantic deadzone.
If you are having problems with this map you probably have corn blindness.

The farm maps are host to some of the most broken loops and most spaced out gens. It's impossible to pressure gens on some of those maps, so you'd better get a 3-gen going.

Haddonfield is legit the hardest map for killers. That's even after the Balanced Landing nerf. Cowshed not so much really. Rotten Fields is a corn blindness issue. If you can see survivors in the corn it's not a hard map.

"Their issues". Dunno, rotten fields appears to have a 50% kill rate, which is balanced by devs standards and that's the "worst map" for killer. On the other hand, the best map for killer is at 70% which is way above 50%. Point is, even in the "worst map" killers do well so I'm not sure what issues there are. Balance means 2 kills 2 escapes on average, not 3+ kills. 3+ kills shouldn't be the norm, it should be reserved for very good players or when playing against worse opponents.
Because if we look at the data you provided, when killers get a bad map, they still get 2k+, but when survivors get a bad map only one of them escapes at most, so if anything the priority should be fixing the killer sided maps cause they are more killer sided that how survivor sided are the "good map" for survivors maps.
In other words, at 50% kill rate the map is not survivor sided, it is balanced. At 70% kill rate a map IS killer sided. Pause for a second and imagine a map with a 30% kill rate, killers would be freacking out.
Putting that aside, it doesn't matter how safe loops are when there are only 7 pallets. That's less than 2 pallets per survivor. Of course, I don't have accurate data(only devs have), but some time ago I used to go in KYF with a friend after each update and count the pallets for each map because devs kept changing the algorithm. Last time I checked Rotten Fields spawned as less as 7 pallets and never more than 10. Maybe things changed in the meantime, dunno.
