Are the new maps ruined?
I love the new graphics design but I just played a game on the Suffocation pits and the dead zones on the entirety of one half of the map were horrendous.
and yet, the middle of the map was basically infinitely loopable. It was like they took everything from the outwards area of the map and put it in the middle.
Is there a reason why they made the map way more open and harder to hide, as well as take a lot of pallets away? It was awful playing there, because practically the only loop was around main house, all the woods were bare and quite frankly boring to look at and play with, and I was wondering if there’s a reason why.

It's like this for many of the reskinned maps. I imagine it was to help try and balance the maps out to be a little more fair to killers by granting them greater visibility/opportunity while secondarily preventing as much gen rushing (in theory anyway)

Do killers need that?? I found it fine as a killer finding and downing survivors without the massive dead zones they’ve put in now! It just makes the map look bland and the chase boring!

Exactly to my thought. The bright side to too bright, the dark side is too dark, the contrast is too much. MacMillan contrast is perfect.

Autohaven is pretty bad.... It's bright, unbalanced, and ugly to look at.

I don't like any of the new maps as killer, besides how they look. For every dead zone on those maps, there's a loop into loop into loop somewhere on there. It's also annoying that most of those unmindgameable pallets are right next to a gen.

They may. There is an opinion that the game is not balanced and that it favors survivors over killers which if continued will kill the game. This may have been a subtle move by the devs to boost killers.
Many players who main killers may not have deemed it necessary but you won't enlarge the killer pool without making it appealing to casuals and noobs. Granting higher visibility is one way to do that.

Oh that’s interesting, because I did notice a lot more survivors playing. Thanks for the response!
