Required Survivor Perks... I guess?

For my entire career playing DBD I've never really run the "Meta" perks, I usually like to mix and match things to have fun with different builds. I have yet to even unlock the teachables for DS, or BT, and maintain rank 1 survivor perfectly fine. Until about three weeks ago i was content to not need those perks, and in fact haven't even unlocked the teachables for them. Then somethings changed.

I'm used to the odd killer face camping or hard tunneling, i just move on with it and join the next match, but starting ~3 weeks ago, no word of a lie, 4/5 killers ranging from spirits to bubbas to Oni Pepperoni's, Ping Pong and Ding Dong, console and PC, have been HARD CAMPERS, then HARD TUNNELLERS. It's gotten to the point where either I'm quitting the game for a while to cool off from their toxicity, or invest my bloodpoints in these perks and be, according to the killers, "Toxic Survivors with their Toxic Perks". For the past few years off off and on play, I have not bothered with those perks but honestly i feel like these toxic killer are forcing my hand?

Similar story. I currently run Bond, Leader, Vigil (or Technician), and Visionary, and I do mostly fine at red ranks as a solo survivor, and make sure I’m as helpful as possible to the team (provided they aren’t total idiots or trolls).

Typically the community becomes very toxic around Christmas, because of all the new players. The new players are frustrated going against veterans, and the more toxic vets come back because there are so many new players to bully. Legitimately should be a little less toxic in a month or so.

No perks on survivor are necessary, even at rank 1. You get some facecamping killers here and there but honestly it's typically exaggerated and usually more manageable than people can admit. The amount of matches where me or my team playing differently couldn't have handled the killers camping/tunneling and still won is slim. I don't think a lot of people realize how bad they play and how much those second chance perks are carrying their bad plays. Instead of realizing this they say that the reason they died so much without them is because they are necessary instead of recognizing their or their teams mistakes.

As I tried to emphasize, this isn't always the case obviously. However it is the case much, much more than people want or are able to admit.

The problem is that the two sides are so different, and its a 1 vs 4. Toxic killers force survivors to bring meta perks once they get tired of being tunneled down. Toxic survivors bully killers and bm to piss the killers off, making them not give a crap if one survivor doesn't get a chance to play the match.

I play both sides, the only time I will bm or bully a killer is if they are tunneling/trying to tunnel me or someone else. The only time I'll tunnel a survivor is if they bm or point me after dropping a pallet. Either way the other player is asking for it, I personally think its because of players that only play one side, if you know how crappy it feels to be on the other side of the behavior, you don't do it, unless you're a real pos or psychopath.
