Doctor is A tier change my mind

Tell me why he isn't A tier worthy

Because he's insanely easy to counter if you have any experience using him as killer.

He was my first main. There is a very specific way to be efficient with him. So as survivor, I always assume the doctor is using that formula so I know what he's going to do well before he does it.

He's got a good chase and tracking power, but most of the A tier killers have some form of mobility power. At the end of the day, when it comes to moving around the map, he's still just a 115% killer.

You don't always need mobility especially on the smaller maps like coal tower. On top of that, he is pretty much always in chase it's no use hiding from him

    No mobility = bad

His anti-loop is also much weaker than something like Pyramid Head or Freddy, who have strong secondary powers to help them out as well.

Do I need mobility on meat plant or the bone maps? Also his anti loop is better then Freddie IMO because you don't have to be asleep for you to be affected by it

The doctors main way of finding a survivor is static blast. Most doctors will use static blast in 1 of 2 ways:

    1. Down a survivor, use SB to make sure nobody is near for a potential rescue. Or,

    2. Use SB as soon as they place someone on a hook so they know where to go next. (This is the more common strategy)

So get into a locker asap when someone is downed, and remain there til 5 seconds after the downed survivor is hooked. Pay attention to WHEN you hear the static blast because it will most likely be a pattern. Then you'll know specifically when to get in a locker. Also if it's been a while since anybody has been downed, get in a locker when his terror radius starts.

Sadly he can never be A tier due to how much the game is balanced around higher mobility killers.

I mean Deathslinger despite his amazing chase usually lose games simply because he can't physically reach generators in time(Mind you he'd only needs to be in 12 meters to reliably get a shot off) and he's only 5% slower then a normal killer.

Just remember the one thing ALL A-S killers(Freddy/Spirit/Blight) have is mobility in one way, shape, or, form.

counter to people playing like this is throwing on whispers. The doctor will know you're in a locker when he uses sb. The 2 points you made were the doctors not playing him right, why would you use it at a hook when you can use it at a gen?

Freddy isn't S tier he gets stomped in high level play as shown in the Hexy tournament a couple months ago. Blight is a normal killer at loops which is bad because god survivors love bullying killers who can't do anything at loops. Also pyramid is considered A tier due to him being very strong in chase and being able to counter meta perks but he has no mobility

Coal Tower is an outlier, being one of the smallest maps in the game. The average map size is around 10,000m^2, Coal Tower is 8448m^2. Most killers do well on smaller maps, especially ones who are already highly mobile.

Doctor's anti-loop is outclassed by the more recent killers, like Freddy (who can cause 15% slowdown and force medium vaults without slowing himself down) and Pyramid Head (who does direct damage, giving him amazing zoning potential).

Both of these killers also have strong side powers. Freddy has almost unmatched mobility and synergy with the best slowdown perks. Pyramid Head, while not having mobility like Freddy, can save time on hooks, waste the survivor's time by sending them to the other side of the map and negate the strongest survivor perks in the game (DS, BT, Deliverance, We'll Make It etc.)

I'm not saying that Doctor is necessarily a bad killer, he's a solid/high B tier at least. He's just outclassed by some of the better killers out there.

Lol. I hide from all the time, to the point where I’m usually the last to die if I die at all.

Doctor is only as good as A-tier killers on smaller maps. Overall no way is he that strong but he is solid mid tier.

  • Mister_xD
    Mister_xD Member Posts: 7,669

i thunk he should be somewhere in the low to mid A tier tbh.

though his map pressure is lacking and his anti loop is only decent.

I've yet to see a doctor use whispers as his power is a built in tracking mechanism. They usually use SB shortly after hooking to find survivors nearby to get a quick second down.

If your argument is that I'm playing doc wrong, why is it that I have no issues besting him and escaping 80+ percent of the time and you are obviously having problems with him or you wouldn't rate him so strong... 😉

He’s probably high B mainly due to lack of mobility. His chase potential is very good and he has great tracking but that’s it

I should record a match against a swf ik so I can show you how to play doctor lol most people that play him are trash or noobs

No mobility or innate lethality. Shock therapy is nice to turn unsafe loops into worthless loops, but if a survivor opt to drop the pallet of a strong safe loop early, your power is useless. Sure using pallets early can bite the survivors in the back, but only if they waste a lot of time. Good survivors will take a huge lead on objectives while you struggle to end some chases and get no hooks.

Its all about the time crunch, and Doctor simply ain't that fast.

Yep. Doc is good in smaller maps and exceptionally powerful against more inexperienced survivor, but as long as the team knows how to spread and do gens it it doesn't matter. He lacks map control.

  • MadLordJack

No, he definitely is. Strong tracking, strong chase power, a little game slowdown and overbuffing add-ons?

The doctor's noises are like nails on a chalkboard to me. I would always take my headset off. Since running calm spirit every match, I have had incredible success against the doctor.

It is almost as though when killers use the doctor, they heavily depend on his tracking instead of taking the 12 extra steps to check an area. Clown is the same. Throw a bottle to check for a reaction... no reaction, no area check.

    Lack mobility

Only good against stealth survivors but will get beat by any decent loopers who know how to play aggressive

His anti loop ability is overrated and can be played around quite easily

Doc is a noob stomper at best but gets rolled by any team that doesn't lack too many brain cells. His High C to mid B at best. His barley high B even with his best addons.

  • The_Krapper
    The_Krapper Member Posts: 3,259

The only thing I can think of that makes Doctor A tier would be his ability to track and his ability to shut down loops but in my opinion I feel like he's more on the edge of an upper B tier killer because he lacks mobility

  • ALostPuppy
    ALostPuppy Member Posts: 3,398

With add-ons he's A tier. Without them he's not anything special and pretty average. You don't even need discipline to make him A tier, even just a range add-on is more than enough. Being able to shock someone from so far away to deny window vaults with no penalty is really damn strong. He's so easy to play now too.

  • With addons? Yeah, he's up there. He's not weak that's for sure.

Calm Spirit can really be a problem for him though....

  • The_Krapper
    The_Krapper Member Posts: 3,259

And that's why I leave him B tier because his power can partially be negated by calm spirit on the tracking side of things which is supposed to be what he's best at , shock cancellation at loops is good but doesn't always work out if the survivor is good enough to play around that and stay up. He's just not fast enough and his power doesn't do any damage is what holds him back from an A tier in my book but hey to each their own I guess, maybe you're just better at Doc than I am so you grade him higher

  • SnakeSound222
    SnakeSound222 Member Posts: 4,467

With add-ons, he definitely is. Remove them and he drops to B tier because of his lack of mobility. Mobility is really important against good Survivors.

  • Zaytex
    Zaytex Member Posts: 841

Honestly, him having little to no mobility isn't even THAT much of an issue when his anti-looping power is extremely good. A good doctor will shock you correctly, negating any chance to drop pallets in a chase, or, if you drop it early, he'll still shock you and hit you on the other side.

Mobility is only an issue when you get the biggest maps on the game, smaller maps like coal tower doesn't require massive mobility.

  • I don't think that is enough to knock him down too much imo.

The reason being is calm spirit is not exactly the most common perk to run into because it's not always useful. Also, the chances of running into MULTIPLE survivors with it is far rarer. One person with it is not enough to throw an entire game for me as doctor; especially with my usual builds. I've gone against it and it's never really caused a noticeable problem for me. If it was that easy, perks like Infectious fright would be considered "Not very good" when we know it's a god tier perk on some killers. Doctor basically has that built in, freeing up another slot for any detection perk of your choosing calm spirit can't counter.

I agree with "B" though still. I mean that is where Otz puts him as well:

  • The_Krapper
    The_Krapper Member Posts: 3,259

That's pretty much the way my list goes except I would move hag and spirit down to A tier , in my opinion nurse in a whole class of her own that no other killer can't currently compare to

  • I dunno, a good hag is pretty hard to deal with. They blur the line between A and B imo, and Otz kinda says something similar. She has some little quirky weaknesses but she is undoubtedly stronger than everyone else in that A category. She also noob stomps above the others in A as well making her pretty brutal in solo queues.

Doc isn't A tier - and I say that as a Doc main.

It's just survivors that are Z tier.

i started a thread about this but it got locked.

yesterday my 6 year old played as a killer and used the doctor. It was his first one playing as killer using my account and he killed everyone. Yes a 6 year old using the killer for the first time and the doctor and he killed all 4 survivors. The doctor is garbage and annoying. He ruins every match.

anybody you play long enough to get good enough with is probably gonna be your personal "A Tier" except when facing the absolute most precise teams int he world which isn't gonna be every game and not everyday or week even for most ranks when matchmaking has enough kiillers to work less badly. there's a plastation streamer who's enjoying the ps5 fps bumps and I watched him as a red rank killers (think he was rank 1) taking down red rank teams consistently using alls orts of killers and he seemed to really like plague but he was also doing it on clown too with ease. Granted it loooks sweatya s hell but he seems tor eally feed off of the sweat in his case which was kind of why I got a kick out of watching him.

Players who thinks doctor is OP are noobs. If someone post something about doctor being too strong, is a noob survivor who never played killer before.

Only map he is good at is Gideon.
