ADULTS ONLY: How do intoxicants affect your gameplay?

As someone with a med card who is also drinking at noon on a Tuesday morning, I feel like I genuinely make more mistakes and don't care/troll far more often when drinking and play 1000x more stealthily/Consider all options while smoking. I am the Urban Evasion player you hate only I don't use it so I'm even worse while smoking lol

I also notice I don't turn loops as tight and can't time pallets right. No need for apologies about my drinking, alcohol is an adult drink that most people can handle especially mid-quarantine whilst thinking of fun posts to create on the forums of one of their favorite games.

So how do you feel whatever it is you do affects your gameplay? Are you slower? Do you genuinely feel like you play better? And if anyone talks #########, I'll defend you no worries (:

DISCLAIMER - THIS POST IS IN NO WAY AN ENDORSEMENT FOR ANY DRUGS/ALCOHOL. THAT IS A CHOICE YOU MAKE AS AN ADULT. I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH '' Behavior interactive Video Game Company ''

Well I'm 43 this month so guess I'm pretty much an adult 😋 My gamertag on Xbox is a clear indication of me loving whisky, and I drink it with care and I'm a whisky collector also. I don't really get drunk just having a dram or two when I come home from work. They say if you have one beer you could become a better driver while you get a worse driver drinking two beers, it's a fine line. I think drinking just enough for you to calm your nerves it makes you a better player and less stressful while looping the killer for example.

So I think it makes me better since I drink responsibly. If you don't then perhaps listen to music or something instead of playing online games 😀 Think of your teammates.

I've played dbd while pretty drunk before, I'm not sure how it affects my performance. But probably not very well? Especially as if I've been drinking it's more likely to be late at night so the survivors are on hardcore mode, and I'm more likely to try killers I'm terribad with.

I'll leave it at alcohol because forum rules and the slight bit of discretion I have left.

I play/stream "Drunk by Daylight" sessions usually a couple times a week so I have some experience here (and it's usually alcohol + weed + edibles, just to make things interesting). I honestly wouldn't say my overall game playing ability suffers much at all. For the most part, as I have some activity to focus on, I tend to continue to play as well as any other time.

The true threat to my ability while inebriated is playing as Survivor, mainly because there can be a good amount of 'downtime" just sitting on gens and the later into the night it is, the the harder it becomes to stay awake haha. At least as Killer, you have to be 100% paying attention and doing something all the time but as Survivor, you can be lazy.

Also, skillchecks...I won't miss many - less than 1 a game on average most likely - but I definitely am not as quick to hit them haha. That needle be getting all the way to the last allowable pixel before I hit it haha. Toss in a drunk game vs the Doctor and you're really in for a good time!

When I drink, I never go in with a mindset to win, whether it be killer or survivor, because my already low skill level drops further. I very much just like to chill out and meme

Is Hyd your name on streams if you don't mind my asking? I'd be down for some Drunk by Daylight lol

When I drink 1 or 2 beers I become even more precised because a bit of alc. chills down my nerves, making me very calm and concentrated.

Sure thing, come join it sometime! https://www.twitch.tv/hydrilic is my channel. I only started it about a month ago I think, and been playing DbD about 2 months so, I'm no pro but don't aim to be either - still have plenty to learn about the game, but I play purely for fun so, it's all good!

I am planning to play and stream tonight but since I work tomorrow it'll just be a regular ol' sober stream :P

Lmao I feel this. I definitely played better for all of 10 minutes at first and then it was all downhill from there while drinking

Well, there's this sweet spot called *The Zone*, and it takes a different amount to get there for each person. I find one gin cocktail helps me feel less self-conscious, especially in a SWF. That extra confidence helps me try for better plays.

Now if I overshoot The Zone, I consistently blow gens and get lost in the EGC. Also, sometimes I can be found whispering at corn and bushes, 'Claudette, dat you???'

I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t use narcotics, (unless coffee is taken into consideration) in which case, I’ve played DBD completely lit-up on espresso like a absolute boss☕️

At least once a week me and my swf play a full night of drinking and dbd. It's a lot of fun since we also play meme builds.

We still play extremely well. We do make more mistakes but we're still bigger than 90% of red ranks.

I generally always smoke and drink when playing dbd. I can't even really play killer without an ipa or two first. My own version of bloodlust i guess..

After 5 or 6 matches of killer or so, I just usually have to bow out.. my reactions get too sluggish.

Then it's survivor time! Archive challenges can be fun. Go in with some silly goal, and solo q won't be such a bummer. I mean it will still suck, but you won't care as much. Getting 1st place while hammered always makes me laugh.

The only time I struggle with skillchecks is huntress lullaby. I agree with an earlier poster. Buzzed HL can be brutal.

Overall, have fun.. it's just entertainment.

Usually meme it up and overall don't care. I'll still try so randoms don't get their experience ruined but I'm putting on deception, and pebbles. Surprisingly can actually flashlight when buzzed

I've had a bit of irish whiskey and played trapper a few times to....moderate effects. Very relaxed games I can say that much.

I had a few edibles once before playing DBD. The problem was I grossly underestimated their...potency ( I rarely have edibles); so when it hit the best way I could describe it is my brain started lagging in real life.

I was not prepared; I went into a game as survivor and started just walking. I forgot gens were a thing entirely. A legion came walking at me very clearly from across the field and started frenzy running towards me when he saw me, and in that state I just screamed and powered off my whole computer after trying to close the game with shaky hands for a few seconds too long, because I thought he was "going to get me".

    As Killer:

    • 1 beer = I don't care if gens fly, I'm just messing around, not stressing if i miss a skillshot or whatever. Ends up 4k-ing most of the time because I don't tilt
    • drunk = if I secure 1 sacrifice then it's a miracle.

    Survivor:

    • doesn't matter, just sit on gens and fail loops. Skill checks are f-ing annoying, I wish technician stopped the checks so I could just hold M1 and talk with my friends
  • You can hold M1, press escape while doing so, go back to the game and it will keep you M1'd on the gen automatically; then all you have to do is hit space bar. That's about the best you can do.
