Totems should not have (too) good hiding spots

(Warning unpopular opinion)

I know, I know just do Bones. Every time when a Killer use unfair perks like Ruin/undying or Noed the survivor need to get gud...

But you can't find most Totems spots, so we should not Nerf the perks himself but make it easier to find them. Like the one in the Killer shack. Or we should have 5 fix spots for each map. That's more fair and fun for the survivor side.

5 fixed spots is fair? Half the time hex totems are gone in the first 2 mins as it is!

If there were 5 fixed spots on each map, every hex perk would become unusable because survivors would always know exactly where to go to cleanse it.

Totems are map dependent. They're very easy to find in maps such as Autohaven, Macmillan and Crotus. However, I have 2k hours on this game, and I'd still be unable to tell you the totem spots on any indoor map except the game. Sometimes I struggle to find totems in Dead Dawg but I'm getting better with it.

The new totem spawns are really horrible, I had games where I had to run around the same place with Small Game trying to figure out where exactly the totem is for about a minute or two. I don't know whether it's just me being unfamiliar with the spots, but some spawns are almost impossible to find without Small Game or Detective's Hunch in normal gameplay. You just won't waste 20 extra seconds for every tile the map has just to check all the corners for totems, so the hex perks now actually stay for quite long when I play soloQ survivor.

But the won't nerf it or do anything with it, because the game is being balanced around SWFs. And SWF sweat squads can clear all the totems on the map within a minute from the beginning of the game, since they can coordinate their found spots and deduce the remaining positions. Even if they can't cleanse it, they just share the info on the totem they've seen with others and someone else will cleanse it: if one player has seen the totem, his entire team has seen it. Moreover, they can coordinate to leave easy-to-find dull totems so that they have a better chance of cleansing NOED. Sometimes my NOED goes down within 10 seconds flat after activating, because they immediately check all the memorized dulls they've left just for this case. You will never see such a perfect coordination in soloQ games.

In solo games the NOED is not even a hex, it's a simple perk which lasts forever: once you know it's there - you'd better run out of the gates, since there is no way you can find that totem if it's not in one of those spots that get cleared by lucky survivors at the very start. By the end of the game only those barely possible to find totems are left, and NOED is on one of them, good luck searching the whole map for it with the insta-down killer running around.

So everything with the totems will stay the same since it's fine in SWF games. Nobody cares about our suffering as solo survivors.

They don't. dedicated survivors remember all the spots or even have maps showing spawn locations.

I got maybe 150h as survivor and I know every spawn location on every map except hawkins barely ever played that map and saw only know about 8 locations but det hunch takes the trouble of finding it away

Try to play using Small Game/ Detective's Hunch and if possible Inner Strength (so you get value out of cleansing). By doing this I've learned many totem spawns on multiple maps and I include Inner Strength in most of my loadouts (it's my favourite perk, really underrated). If there are specific maps you struggle with try to find totems in custom games. I've done this with friends and it works, trust me.

I agree with the fact it's an unpopular opinion lol even most survivor mains would disagree with this.

The game shouldn't have only 5 fixed totem spawns per map. That would mean every totem would be destroyed in about 1 min if the survivors know the spawns. I think the map should have a mix of good hiding spots and not great ones.
