A 100% effective way of spotting a SWF team
So I've noticed a lot of killers tend to get extremely worked up over the fact that SWF exists, even though it's been there since the game started. Seems like every other post in this forum is someone whining about this issue. Now I understand going against a coordinated team is hard and sometimes very frustrating but bear with me, I'll tell you the most effective way to deal with this. It's actually extremely simple:
Assume every team is a SWF and play accordingly
That's it. No need to keep coming here asking for the devs to identify swf players. No need to ask for an extra perk to compensate. No need to rage. Just from now on, start playing as if every single team was on comms. If they're not, then great! You get a chill game. Otherwise just expect the DS Unbreakable Adrenaline plays. That's the standard, not the opposite.
I promise if you start doing this your killer games will be less about blaming the game and more about figuring out what you could have done better. Honestly killer is not for every player and at this point it's pretty clear the devs know this as well.
So yeah, hopefully this helps somebody. Stop complaining about stuff you can't change. You can choose instead to adapt and try your best and if it doesn't work just accept you got outplayed. No need to rage.

How does this let me spot the swf as a survivor?

You will spot a SWF as a survivor once your in game and die on first hook.

SWF was not here when the game started. That was added later.
Personally I wouldn't mind if we were told someone was in a swf "after" a match ended. That way I would know if it was a coordinated team. We can't be told it's a swf before the match starts because people would just lobby dodge.

Outside of like, OoO, or bringing a key and a map and an offering, item coordination like that.... I don't have much of a problem with swf tbh.
Most of the problems I find are with matchmaking/ranking system failures itself.
Solo queue is often hard because you have like 2 very good survivors, red rank, who coordinate well, and 2 people who might be red rank but they shouldn't be in the same bracket as the other 2; and they cause the killer to just wreck everyone because of it.
SWF if you are all put against a killer of appropriate level, odds are it would still be a close game. Thing is you'll be a red rank 1 competitive team SWF or something, and some guy with 100 hours hit red ranks just by playing the game a lot recently but is nowhere NEAR ready to play against you, of course he gets demolished. He shouldn't even be playing against you.
Statistically, SWFs only perform marginally better than solo's according to bhvr anyways. I think that is because they have slowly been balancing killers around SWFs existing; but giving more information to solo queue players to coordinate better.....however still the problem is landslide matches on one side or the other; which again is caused by matchmaking/ranking problems, and then BHVR says "Well that means it's 50/50 so it's fair" rather than looking at a survivor and a killer curbstomp and recognizing the problems with each.
Anyways, that is how I feel about it myself. Agree or don't, but I feel SWF is barely a drop in the bucket to the real problem.

I mean @ars_perfecta you are right with what you say there, but people come here to complain about an issue. Expecting the issue to be present in every game might make it less miserable but it wont really solve the problem.
Everyone who thinks there are issues should be free to speak, thats why most are here, and it does not really matter what the problem is. Communication with the devs will help them to improve the game.

Here's my way to spot SWF pretty consistently:
Either very different characters or very similar characters is what SWFs usually run.
Mainly female and 1 male character.
All cross play or all on the platform you're on (can be less assuming a 2 or 3 man)
Assuming 2 or more players are playing the same character (such as dwight), their animations will be synchronised (not consistent though).
Quickswitchers are a massive giveaway.
People with DBD related names usually play in SWF more often, especially console players. Same goes to TTVs.
All characters dress up as though they're good.
If they're a meme SWF you should be able to see that instantly.
Most if not all SWFs Ive met follow at least one of these patterns, leading me to be prepared whenever I get into a game. Seeing what types of outfits and names SWFs run should give you a good idea of when you're versing one. I'm not gonna load into a match and start tunnelling at 5 gens because I think 2 baby megs and 2 baby claudettes are SWF.
Overtime when you verse many SWF you can tell from their outfits alone whether they're a SWF. Well, at least I can. IDK about other people.

I agree with Echorion, from my experience most 4SWF (the supposedly dangerous ones) are not THAT good or unbeatable, they usually make for closer and faster games and a a lot of those have that 100-200 hour Survivor who reached high rank because he plays 4SWF with his friends, he is decent at pushing gens and maybe at hiding but not that good at looping or disengaging so they tend to have one weak link you can capitalize to put a lot of pressure on them with early hooks, if you find the weak link of course, as I said they tend to be decent at hiding and the best player will almost always try to get aggro from Killers to avoid exposing easy prey.
That being said, there are 4 people SWAT teams composed only of very hardened Survivors with thousands of hours and extremely good at looping, hiding, disengaging and pushing gens but they are very very rare, Im consistently Rank1 each month and I can say I face maybe 1 of those every 30 games maybe, and yes I obviusly get demolished unless someone makes a critical mistake and allows me to snowball, which in turn gets me 1 or 2 kills in any case when I got crushed I usually can tell all the mistakes Ive made that lead to my defeat or I can blame the map (playing Myers on Mother's Dwelling or Corn or getting an absurd amount of pallets on Blood Lodge etc).
Im going to say something a lot of people wont like, if pretty much every 4/3 people SWFs beats you harshly it may be for 3 reasons, either you believe the game is balanced around 4K and that should be the norm (its not, they aim at balancing around 2K) or you are only noticing when you get beaten by a good SWF but not noticing when you beat a bad one or you are not as good as you think and reached rank by smashing boosted potatoes so now you are out of your league facing the hardened guys.
