You were a fun perk while you lasted, you protected my totems dutifully. But we can't ignore that you were an RNG based perk that could be removed 30 seconds into the game, or easily seen with a map or two other perks. Or the fact that dull totems could be removed before the hex perks could be transferred. I guess survivors can't resist gens so much that they can't hop off one to do bones for extra points.

The key nerf will most likely be shadow nerfed right before the update releases on live servers like Discordance to avoid people spamming keys during the PTB. This already is happening because of the mori changes, but still.

They never told is what the change is for all we know it could only show the aura of a survivor when they are cleansing a totem instead of being in a 2m range or it could be any totems reset by undying are also destroyed when undying is destroyed

Tbh I think this isn't a terrible change. I was worried what they were going to do. They've given other Hex totems a buff with this change.

And Hex-Perks are not meant to stay up all game. Two days ago I had a game against a Blight with Ruin/Undying (he did not have Tinkerer tho), and in that 12 minute game (he got a 4K), I cleansed 3 Totems and he still had Ruin and Undying left (he was a streamer and I watched the VOD afterwards, so I knew that those Totems were still in the game).
And I only knew of 1 more Hex-Totem, so even if I would have been able to cleanse that as well, it would have been a 50/50 if Ruin is really gone. This just shows how good Totem Spots have become on many Maps and IMO it should not happen that you have to cleanse 5 Totems to cleanse one Hex.
And now Undying can be used with other Hexes, while not being too oppressive with Devour Hope.

Not too torn up. It's still decent it just won't carry as many killers. Personally I'd have been fine with just removing aura reading. Their reasoning is sound though. It was a hex that removed the main weakness of hex perks.
I got bored of Ruin/undying very quickly due to how uninteractive it is. Can't wait for all the rank 10 killers to clog up the forums with "dbd is dead" posts.

In memory of Ruin: Undying, the beacon of strength for killer mains. When killers had to counter up to 16 second chance survivor perks per match, undying stepped in and helped with our second chance. Unfortunately it lived a short life at only 1.5 chapters. In hopes that survivor’s second chance perks will also be reworked, but this seems unlikely

It’s still going to be useful, even more so for Devour Hope. Zero issues with the change.
unless of course we can agree to bring back OG MoM, instaheals, recover from exhaustion while running, use DS whenever you wish, 75% fall recovery always with BL, etc

If survivors wouldn't run anti totem builds for old Undying, why would they now?
What you've said makes absolutely no sense lad.
Perks like Lullaby, Devour Hope and Third Seal are all now buffed. You also still get 2 Haunted Grounds with Undying. The aura part of Undying also hurt Thrill so it being changed there makes sense.
Not all totem spots are amazing but one of the worst for it was Disturbed Ward which is now getting changed. So I assume now it'll be a lot better there and all the other maps seem decent atm (maybe except corn maps).
They've done something good here with these changes so I hope it makes the other Hex totems more viable.
Btw I will say I dislike the new HUD. Too similar to mobile imo.

Your saying this to someone who runs WGLF and Iron Will in his 4 perks. Yes those 2 amazing second chance perks I must have and can't play without.
It's hard to tell solo q players to run an anti-totem perk when they're already told to run Kindred, DS, perk to heal yourself (or hide your cries) and many other perks that I can't think of right now.

I think it needed a change. That being said, it's hard to ignore the disparity between top killer perks being changed and survivor perks. What was that like 3 months or so? Sure wish they worked that quickly on Decisive Strike and Object of Obsession...

@Snipsnappy I saw your reply just in time 😁 yea it's probably a rank thing. At red ranks you never see totem finding perks like detectives hunch or small game. Maps are very rare also but you still see them occasionally.

Gen rush is real. Ruin/Undying was one of the better ways to handle it and again, they will appease survivors who want 5 minute matches (slight exaggeration).
Compounding this is whatever shadow change they did with spawning. I'm spawning next to other players much more frequently and typically at max range from the killer. It is quite common for a team to slam a gen before the killer can even make it to them.
The other day all 4 of us spawned within 5m of a gen and knocked it out super quick. This is just beyond stupid. Now nerf Ruin/Undying? It's a joke.

They should totally get rid of the random aura effect when walking by a totem and instead have a survivor's aura shown when they start cleansing a totem. Make it work on hex perks too since they removed that part for some reason.

You realise spawning survivors closer together is technically a nerf right? If you ask any tournament team that rather all 4 survivors spawn at separate gens.
Max range from the killer is also excellent because of Corrupt and the killer knows usually that's where survivors spawn. All 4 of you being together means the killer can injure multiple survivors at once early in the game.
Just like the previous person what you've said makes very little sense.

honestly i'm pretty sure the main reason undying-ruin was so painful was because, contrary to what some believe, SWF squads that can deal with it are rarer and trying to play against it in solo q was about as fun as watching paint dry
that being said, DS-Unbreakable-Soul Guard exists still and is also about as fun to face as watching paint dry

I have no problem with this change. Added diversity by allowing me to use stack hexes, and still gives me plenty of time to do the work I need. If a killer really needed 4 iterations of Ruin in one game, they genuinely need to git gud. Ruin/Undying is just killer DS/Unbreakable but even more annoying by being RNG and more than single use.

They probably haven't nerfed those perks because of how much killers love to tunnel, camp and slug. Changes to those perks would push a lot of people away.

the 3 points that justify the undying changes were warned from day 1. The perk allows up to 4 totems to clean to remove ruin. Basically it only serves to ruin because whoever serves the devourer without tokens and the perk did a lot for what it was. Now it gives very little, extra life to a totem for one perk it is not worth it, If you allow you to spend 2 perk between undying and devourer, but nothing more. I hope the nerf is not so strong after the PTB

So now you literally only need to do 2 totems, when it used to be a 50% chance of that. The whole point of Undying was to help protect hexes.. now it buys you 15 seconds.. big ######### whoop.

I also didn't see anything about preventing hexes from spawning right on top of gens so hexes are back to being mostly trash

"If you ask any tournament team..." We're not talking tournament teams and tournament killers so let's leave that silly argument for another day.
"Corrupt.." Because the majority of killers run corrupt? Nope. Next dumb comment?
"Killer can injure multiple..." Injure or down? Decent survivors will trade injuries for downs any day. Even then, that supposes some really crappy survivors. In a real scenario, like I already provided, the gen will be completed before the killer even arrives. Second, if the killer happens to guess the correct distant gen and makes a bee line for it, the best he can do is chase one or two away. The others will immediately return and still pop the gen. The only time this fails is with scaredy cat survivors who don't return to gen immediately.
Any other dumb comments you'd like to add? Or have you had your fill of spreading nonsense?

I really don't understand this mindset of Ruin+Undying being on par with DS+Unbreakable. It's not, you use Undying to get value from Ruin. Which is basically using 2 perk slots for the use of 1, also RNG plays a huge role in how the combo works. While DS+Unbreakable is consistent and the perks are pretty strong on their own but when combined makes you nearly invincible for a minute which is unhealthy for the game, since slugging is on the rise. There's going to be a surge of more Unbreakable usages.

I never really used you, but you helped out a LOT of people. I just don't like RNG based perks.
Also I am now expecting Devour Hope to get butchered in the near future.

Ok here's what I'm saying if you really need it in simpler terms. Having all 4 survivors spawn together is a good thing for killer. A good killer would be happy for this to happen. If they make it there on time then they get multiple injures and can stop the gen progress. It is unlikely that the gen will be completed before the killer reaches it (unless they are a set up killer or super unlucky).
A lot of killers run Corrupt 😂 your dismissing a perk that killers like Myers and Trapper live and die by. If you played killer more you'd see it's value. Especially if your telling me all survivors spawn together on the other side of the map then maybe you should run it yourself lol
Yes injures. In your gen scenario the killer hits one, goes back to gen and hits another 1 or 2 depending on how greddy they are. Even if the gen is completed he knows that he has already 3 people injured and only 1 gen that has had any progress on it. Better than getting a down and having 2/3 gens pop lol

- Survivors who want to rush gens would rather all spawn at separate gens
- Getting multiple injures early game without getting down isn't a bad thing
- Corrupt is quite common. Very good perk on multiple killers
So yes when your complaining about all 4 survivors spawning together then you are saying things that make no sense lol if you did have this problem a lot then Corrupt would be a perfect perk for you 👍 thankfully I don't hear a lot of people complaining about my nonsense lol only the ones who seem to have a lack of experience with this game.

Ah, you can only chase one survivor at a time, having ruin and undying was never a succes if 2-3 ppl stay on a gen from start to finish.
The real heroes are those that play with other gen stopping perks, cause you know if the survivor community cries long and enough, everything is getting nerfed for them
