HOW is DS STILL not being changed!?!
This is getting ridiculous now BHVR.
Undying was a great killer perk and obviously people have complained about it so you have changed it.
people have been complaining about DS for years and yet you are STILL refusing to change it. The bias is so clear it’s unbelievable - you cannot keep postponing this change as gen defence will get harder yet survivors still have all the second chance perks they need. You don’t need to change unbreakable just DS. Come on stop being ignorant or obvious and change it.

It seems to me EVERY TIME killers get a decent combo they just nerf it instantly but for survivors they leave it months on end - look at DS, MOM wasn’t changed for a while either. Come on behaviour your bias is showing even more than before

It really wasn’t - you could easily cleanse ruin and undying - there’s nothing a killer can do about ds - and before you say ‘don’t tunnel’ the timer is so long you could still not tunnel and get hit by it

Hex: Undying was much easier to balance and change. Everyone knew that change was forthcoming, on day one people predicted the problem of totems moving and the excess of information with aura reading on every totem. DS needs to be changed in a way that provides some relief to being tunneled.

Simple change - have it lowered to say 30-45 seconds and have it disable the moment you do any action - jump in a locker - heal - repair. That’s fair.

I just played a soloq survivor game. There was no obsession and the killer was a freddy.

Those changes solely benefit the Killer. Even in the 60s, you could still be tunneled. Besides the fact that most killers go out of their way to bypass DS despite tunneling. The perk can be adjusted to eliminate or minimize offensive uses but it first and foremost needs to actually advance the stated cause: to be anti-tunnel.

The usual scenario where DS works as a charm doesn't involve tunneling, not at the higher skill levels. It's usually survivors abusing the fact that they can give you a free stun and then escape. The solution for killers that don't want to deal with the DS BS is to slug, but then survivors say the killer is not fun to play against, or they run Soul Guard and Unbreakable
So what do I do? Where is this How to play as a Killer manual that supposedly all survivors have and I seem to have missed it somehow?

I think the skill check should be harder to hit when the survivor purposely hops in a locker and slow vaults while decisive strike is active. I personally think DS is pretty good where it is and to be honest most really good survivors usually run vault speed build with Deadhard and iron will

Honestly the change to DS, at least to me, is simple. Give it unlimited uses, lower the time to twenty or thirty seconds, and if a Survivor gets in a locker or touches a gen the perk deactivates. If the perk is supposed to be anti tunnel as so many Survivors love to preach, make it an anti tunnel, not a minute of invincibility.
And sorry Survivors, eating five seconds of stun is not a counter

I have a better solution for DS, make it infinite, reduce it to 40 seconds, it deactivates as soon as someone else is hooked

So? It's still in the game and it still has the potential to tunnel someone out of the game without any penalty, just not on first hook anymore.

You guys are babies. MoM was changed in like three to four weeks which is pretty fast considering how long they take to usually do these things. 2 April 2019. Is when Ash released and the developer update for when they announced the Mettle of Man nerf was coming in the PTB was the very next month of May. It was not "a while" so that part of your post is a lie. DS isn't as easy for them to change outside of the sake of just nerfing it for babies like you. Its gone through like three other states they also already mentioned that they were looking at ways to make it not able to be used to abuse or bully the killer. You're just complaining because you rely on undying ruin and now its nerfed so you get one chance of keeping ruin and are mad that a survivor perk you don't like didn't get nerfed as well. Shut up and wait till they've actually decided what to do with DS because your whining about it here isn't doing anything but making you look foolish.

DS is supposed to be an anti-tunneling perk, so I feel like it would be a justified change if the remaining time the perk is active goes down a chunk instantly every time someone else is hooked.

Because DS isn’t a major issue. As someone who plays both Survivor & Killer in red ranks it’s pretty easy to avoid DS, the only time where it might be unavoidable is when the gates are open and you’re trying to secure a kill by going after the same person.

Just take it off gen/totem and I'm happy. What some people want goes too far and it just becomes clear they're the person that the perk is meant to be impacting. The whole 'Well I hooked someone else!' argument goes out the window when more often than not that excuse is used when the killer is camping the hook or immediately returning to it. Yes if you try to get them both you may get DS'd, as it should be. Its a bit too easy on high mobility killers to do that. I got no problem doing that as spirit. I got no problem doing it as doctor considering how easy it is to find survivors as him. The same issue can be seen with billy and nurse. Frankly any killer can do it but it is pretty plain to see why those killers specifically get put in that situation. If the survivor is unhooked, the other is immediately downed and I just hook them that's only a second of my time. The unhooked survivor is easily going to be found in that timespan.
I don't care about lockers. I get why that is done and despite the negatives the positives are:
- It counters moris. You can say 'well it got nerfed' - well it don't need to be a guaranteed kill either if you're too scared to eat a stun. The argument of it being nerfed is moot when you also take into account that pyramid head hard counters DS if they hit a trail. Most pyramid heads just hold the trail to do the mori.
- It gives a reason to not just pull someone out of a locker which helps other locker perks such as head on, deception and inner strength. The first two being very situational.

Look, DS was changed. It was, on release, a broken perk that rewarded survivors for losing chases. No counter, hook pressure. That was old old DS.
Devs then did what Devs do, bandaid it. They made it so only the obsession could instantly use it. All others have to wiggle a bit to activate it. (Sound familiar to a recent perk?) Killers tried to counter this by "juggling" which the Devs decied to "fix" by increasing the wiggle penalty in dropping survivors. This ofc caused issues with legit dropping survivors due to body blocks.
Finally after years of BS the Devs finally changed it to the way it is now. A perk only active AFTER a killer gets their deserved hook.
I'll take the current DS over the old DS anyday. It's like survivors complaining about new ruin over the old ruin. 😒

- The end gate and locker abuse of DS is unintended I am sure. The end gate especially needs to BE GONE. That's just stupid.
- DS shouldn't have such a long timer. It's to avoid TUNNELING, not SLUGGING.
- Rank 1 killer and surv here. It's stupid from both perspectives. And I am tired of survivors relying on it to do stupid #########. And I do like the "idea" of it, just not the way it is currently.

There's a reason why Almo hasn't decided DS needs to be nerfed, it's in the name. Decisive Skill, the most skillful thing for the survivor that takes years of practice and dedication to master. (Get ready) You must land an overseized skill-check.

How does a 1 time use stun, only usable for 60 secs after an unhook, win the game? If a killer never tunnels, its a dead perk.

And DS was nerfed once already, the claim that BHVR only cares for survivors is so stupid. I'm not saying their balance is perfect, far from it, but people always act so ridiculous. Undying gets nerfed, obviously devs arer survivor biased. Let's ignore the buff to Wraith and Clown in the exact same patch.

From what I see that's not the point of this post.
The point is that when a new Killer perk is released and is either good on its own or has good synergy with others. It gets nerfed, in Undying's case, it's nerfed within 3 months of its existence while DS got nerfed twice in 4 months then reworked into something that is far worse than the original and hasn't been addressed since the rework.
I'm pretty sure everyone's grateful for the small changes to Wraith and Clown but they're overshadowed by the one the most important changes in 2021.

They didn't just change undying because of complaints. The undying/ruin combo has probably shifted the numbers too much in that survivors, especially in low ranks where survivors hide when they hear a TR, can hardly ever get out. In other words undying/ruin was carrying the games too much. DS is mostly used by players that get caught 10 seconds later. If it hasn't been nerfed its because the inclusion of it has not greatly skewed the survival statistics. Since Laurie Strode came out, DS has been complained about and it is was changed quite some time ago. For some reason the majority of the community keep ignoring the fact that DS is NOT an anti-tunnel perk as confirmed by Peanits. Therefore it will not follow the 'I'm not being tunneled' rules people want to assign to it.
