Tips to start Blight?

I've been wanting to get this cross country runner for a while now, and since I finally have enough shards, I'm going to get him

Does anyone have any tips on how to start out with him, any basic looping or strategy tips? Anything would be really helpful thankyou! :))

I'm not the best Blight but I do actually have advice for maps like Rotten Fields where it's literally JUST open areas basically. You can use the hooks to bounce off of, use that to your advantage if needed.

Oh nice, thankyou, I never would've realised that, I just assumed you'd slide off, seeing as on maps like ormond rocks are smooth lol

You have to sorta get it on the right angle but once you realize that angle it's easy.

How to start out with him:

    • Read up the mechanics of the Killer
    • Try the mechanics of the Killer in a few matches
    • End

Step 1.) Look at wall 30 feet away

Step 2.) To assert dominance sprint to the wall and headbutt it.

    Step 3.) Repeat steps 1 - 2, 4 times.

    Step 4.) K E T A M I N E

Blight is a tough one can easily be one of the most frustrating and fun killers at once. He has a decently tough learning curve but my best advice is this. In order to get good consistent hits with his power at loops and such you need a general understanding of how the loop is laid out and a common survivor mindset, imagine you being the survivor during a chase and constantly think to yourself what would you do in the survivors position? Would you go for the vault or pallet, would you turn the corner and leave the loop or keep running it. In short Blight requires good reads and solid predictions with a short window to act upon them. Good advice for starting out, spam his power get comfortable with it and keep going for hits and if you feel like a rush might not get you in good position to get a hit, bounce off something and realign.

You are gonna have some very frustrating moments with blight, there will be hits that miss and you will look like you were just a millimeter short. There will be objects you would think you can bounce off of but you will slide on instead.

I love blight but same time he causes me alot of frustration but when I do well and don’t slide off everything he is hella fun

    console blight btw

Watch Scott's video for basic good Blight.

    For mastering Blight

Practice how to use power in short loop, hard flick, 180° flick.

As someone else said, Scott has a good guide that goes over the very basics. AscensionWho, Bronx, Ryuga and ScottJund all play Blight very often, and are all pretty good with him. I recommend watching them.

I've pretty much nolifed Blight since release and the most important thing is honestly just sticking with him. When he was released on the PTB, I thought he was a total joke, when he was released on live, I didn't want to play or level him past 50, but I wanted the adept trophy. So I spent like ten games, ten miserable games by the way, trying to learn his kinks with his three base perks. At like game nine or ten, it clicked for me, I got the Adept, I slapped on solid perks, and the rest is history.

You fall down, you get back up, and try, try, try, and try again. Best advice I can give.

Check out AscensionWho on twitch. Best Blight out there.

Max out mouse DPI. I use Q and E to turn as well.

Ok, asylum is your best map now.

    (Im a blight main)

How stupid it might sound, especially at the beginning you'd better not to use your ability at pallets, especially at not standart

Probably the best in the shack pallet

    My build is:

    BBQ

    Undying

    Devour (oh boy, undying buff)

    Dragons grip/thanat/nurses/noed

Rn i run noed cuz i recently prestiged him

Have you tried him on new asylum? I noticed some of the walls are slidey, i deadharded into a wall yesterday and it just slid me to the other end of it!

Firstly, early on, you just want to GET UP GET UP AND BOUNCE AROUND every here and there. Let yourself get a feel for it, don't go trying to trick shot Lethal Rushes first. Use it in open areas first, look around and be intentional with where you are going in between Rushes, and don't get caught up stuck in an obstacle. If you go into an obstacle and you have already bounced once or twice in the same small area with nothing to show for it, just let the Rush die and recharge. You don't NEED to use it to get someone, don't feel like you do. Knowing when to say "I goofed" and play like a normal Killer is very important for Blight.

Secondly, be mindful of certain add-ons early on. The one that lets you see where you will bounce is okay for learning, but some of the others give pretty impressive buffs via auras and such. Those ones, while great, should be saved for when you have the real basics of Blight down first. Otherwise, they can quickly become a crutch.

Thirdly, BounciBoi is short. For now, get used to it. Eventually, BHVR says they will fix it. So, in about 4 years, expect it to be fixed. Seriously though, you will need to be a bit more manic in order to make up for the lack of information you get due to not seeing over obstacles the way other Killers do. Thankfully, Blight feels very fun and energetic to play, so the manic playstyle just works.

Fourth, Lethal Rushes have a very extended and slightly delayed lunge. DEFINITELY take some time to adjust to it. Basically, you have to be able to predict a hit a bit earlier than you normally would for other Killers, and time the landing. On a separate but related note, if you are at 5 Rushes and you're about to go into Blights fatigue, you can add a lunge attack to the end of the Rush to get a bit more distance out of it before you start injecting Minute Maid.

raise your sens as much as you can and learn 180 flicks, everything else comes naturally with playing

well first, take your time with going for the lethal rush, you have more time then you think so dont just go clicking like a maniac.

and secondly, when at a real loop, dont bother with your power, it wont work, make sure that when they leave the loop you are ready with a quick lethal rush (hit whatever they were looping you around and then aim for them and lethal rush after them)

flick your mouse, your hit angle is much larger then you would expect.

u can definitely use your power at a lot of the tiles, the only tiles i wouldnt recommend using ur power on are long wall jungle gyms and those weird yamaoka/ormond jungle gyms, and maybe c walls, everything else is definitely doable.

I am not the best blight but here are my advices:

Use his lethal rush as a way to fast travel through the map, it does help a lot. If you can, start bouncing and consuming all your tokens, they replenish in a very short time so if you get to start a chase it won't be long before you'll get them again.

Compound Seven (Brown add-on automatically face a survivor after a Slam) is a good add on if you are in a relatively open area with a few objects

Enduring is a good perk on him, if you see a survivor running through a pallet, try to use your Rush, generally the survivor panics and pre-drop the pallet. Yes, you might get stunned but you can get rid of the pallet for the entire match instead of being forced to enter a loop with said survivor. This strategy not always work, there are higher chances if you bounce on another object, since you already have the Lethal Rush they will be forced to drop the pallet. Sidenote: Remember that blight can destroy pallets on Lethal Rush if you attack them

If a survivor gets way a lot of distance toward you, a Rush and bouncing in the near objects may help you.
