Kill Switch update: Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Clowns rework hasn't really fixed his problem

So let me get this straight... everybody was saying clown lacks any good method of mobility. So BHVR made him even more chase oriented???

The antifote bottles have so far proven useless for map mobility due to its low numbers. The area where they help is during a chase. Where you can boost yourself, and slow a survivor.

But what was the reasoning behind making him more chase oriented than he already was?

@TheClownIsKing feel free to weigh in on this issue.

I mean plenty of killers are pure chase and no mobility. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I am just worried because I hear there is a detonation delay on the gas now; which I think would make him worse.

Not that I think he is terrible or anything, he is pretty beastly in a chase with good addons and perks.

They were never intended for map mobility.

Clown derives his pressure from quickly ending one chase after the other, so they wanted to make his anti loop even more dangerous, as currently there is still the occasional loop that can cause Clown problems, sometimes if 2 tonics are used.

They couldn’t simply buff Hindered, as that would also affect Freddy & add ons that inflict Hindered.

But with an additional bottle that causes a speed boost, this gets around the issue of Hindered sometimes not slowing survivors enough at certain loops because of the spacing between Clown and the Survivor, and somewhere safe the survivor can reach. Now at those loops that would usually require 2 tonics, but would still be 50/50 whether a survivor still reaches a pallet or vault, Clown can now substitute one of those Tonic placements for an Antidote. The idea is that Clown should be passing through an activated Antidote closely to the moment a survivor is slowed down by a Tonic.

I’d like to add that slowing a survivor during the moments Clown has boosted speed should also address the whole “drop the pallet early” issue, as Clown should still be getting hits in now before Survivors even reach a pallet.

I am not a Clown main so I know my suggestion may be worse than what they have done, but I feel like it would have been more interesting if they gave clown the speed boost from the recent event that the vial add-on gave. His chase is good enough as is, he just needed some map pressure and seeing the clown zoom in straight lines would be greatly amusing and terrifying at the same time.

He truly, genuinely doesn’t need map mobility. Once someone learns how to use Clown properly, chases are ended so quickly that this alone pressures other survivors a LOT. He can be a snowball monster just like Nurse, Billy, Oni, or Bubba.

Honestly, once these Clown changes go live, and more players get interested in using him, and getting better at him, Clown is going to be complained about a lot.

I think it should be called the "Afterpiece Stimulant" instead of antidote. Survivors would still get a speed boost entering the cloud, but also have the blurred vision for the duration of the effect and lose the ability to see the Red Stain.

Also allow the Clown to personally inhale or drink the stimulant instead of throwing it, giving him a speed (10%) and action speed boost (10%) for 3 seconds for each bottle, consuming or inhaling them all in the process. Passing through a cloud of "Afterpiece Tonic" removes the stimulants affects.

    Rework addons accordingly.

I won't judge their rework to harshly until its on Live servers though.

It's like a science forum debate whenever clown mains talk about clown; it's always great.

When us Demo mains have a talk it's just "rat liver basekit when?" and then pointing out 90% of his addons are trash lol.

Good news! They removed the good addons that you are thinking of and added a speed bottle with a 2.5 second delay!

Still a flat nerf in my eyes until we see how it plays in a real game.

Are you talking about a delay on gas spread? Otherwise I don't know how detonation delay would work on clown bottles.

You need to wait 2.5 seconds after the bottle breaks to get the speed bonus.

    Oh, that.

The detonation delay on the antidote is kind needed to prevent survivors from getting constant use out of it. To make it more consistent on clowns end, i would say reduce the activation delay by half a second.

That's not true. Every killer needs good mobility, or else they have to rely on survivors not splitting up and slamming gens. I don't care how fast someone can down a survivor, one survivor is just one survivor. There needs to be follow up, and if they're split up around the map there can't be any follow up as a basic movement killer. That's the weakness of Deathslinger, of Pyramid Head, and yes, of Clown.

Perhaps the only two killers that aren't like that are Hag and Huntress, but Hag is... Hag, and Huntress has cross-map.
