DEVs and Feedback
I´m writing this in the light of the most recent changes, more specifically the redesign of the HUD.
Among Reddit, the streams I watched and this very forum, the feedback on it has been very, very close to being unanimously negative.
The reasons for this that seem to have been brought up the most are the scattering of vital information across the screen (reminiscent of F2P mobile titles) which previously had been nicely condensed in the bottom left corner. The classic HUD offers easily accessible information without restricting FOV or tiring the eyes, the new HUD does not share these positive feats. It´s quite the opposite, in fact.
Another reason is the visual design itself. In my opinion, the old HUD fit the style and tone of DBD very well, whereas the new one just looks cheap and out of place (again very reminiscent of F2P mobile games).
The third reason being that people that suffer from issues related to colorblindness are pushed from the game even further by the new design.
These complaints have been brought up in overwhelming amounts on basically every platform. It seems that on this one, the community came together to voice their disapproval of the changes, Survivor Mains, Killer Mains and everything in between.
The DEVs have come to a crossroads here. They have the oppurtunity to prove how much the feedback of their playerbase actually matters. If they back off from the disliked design and try to find a solution that does not upset their playerbase as a whole, we can rest assured that our feedback does in fact have some value.
If they push it out in this manner regardless, we now know that our feedback is worth literally nothing to them. Given the wording in the DEV Tapes, I´m worried they are going to dismiss the feedback.
As for me, I´m a long time player who´s very dedicated to DBD but I´m not sure I could bring myself to stick with the game should the new HUD be implemented the way they intend it to be.

devs have long histori abut not giving rat ass about players feedback so i wouldnt be suprissed if they say f it we going to live version wtiht those changes

Yeah I see all of whats on the ptb being pushed to live. I could be wrong....I hope I am.

they literally said "people hate change" and "it will take time to get use to"
I hope they prove me wrong and don't release it, but with wording like that it doubt they will. Just because we get use to something doesn't mean we like it or that it is good.

Well, if we go by the immediate precedent set by the last patch, then it's hard to be optimistic.

The developers like to push things live regardless if people like it or not they've always been this way they learned it from Starbreeze if you know you know. Feedback is taken into account after the patch drops and it gets ripped apart for being bad.

Well I hope you guys are wrong. It would be such an embarassment to have insane amounts of negative feedback beforehand, push out the despised changes regardless, then retract them because of negative feedback. It sounds so dumb.

I hope is not a PTB nurse's change remake.

The new modular UI will not go back to the non-modular UI. The non-modular UI can not accomodate the future features they want to add.

We already had a case with auras :(

Yeah no it´s not worth it when everyone hates it with their guts, don´t you think? There has to be a compromise.

I've played tons of games with "Vocal" communities...One really left a bad taste... Star Wars galaxies...Companies will do what they want

I hope they don't just push out the new UI and instead make adjustments based on the feedback. However, based on their track record they tend to be the "suck it up or go play something else" because they know there isn't another horror game like this players will turn to. It's situations like this I wish the had real competition because being the only successful horror game of its kind out right now gives them the ability to push out things even if players are against it.

Issue here is this is something people are 'vocal' about because it is something that interferes with gameplay.
It's basic game design:
An UI should have vital information FOR THE PLAYER easily accessible. The new design does NOT provide this. As it's been pointed out, this is more akin to a mobile game (which doesn't work on bigger screens) or an UI optimized for a tournament judge to get info to base a score on. Not the actual player.
Here's the thing:
If they would just tell us what features they want to add/why this crass redesign happens we could give feedback that can lead to a good compromise/design. But they don't.

Just not sure why time was spent on the HUD, of anything to spend time on tweaking. “Hey Bill, the house is on fire, whatcha doing?” “Oh me? Great time to paint the kitchen, it’ll dry faster!”
