ghostface + devour hope = giving up, why?
pretty much 4 games out of 5 when i play ghostface and run devour hope and get to 3 tokens, survivors just gives up, why? sometimes they keep playing and look for the totem but most of the time they just let themselves die on hook and barely try to loop.
Why?

People don't want to actually try to play the game

They don't want to face it and know it's a lost cause so they die and move onto the next game they'll maybe enjoy more. Then the devs see the data and nerf it for them.

Don't want to find the totem. Because they can't find totems easily. This was made by a Detectives Hunch gamer. Cleansing Ruin+Undying and every other Hex since day 1.

It's because they refuse to run one totem seeking perk or to bring in a map since they don't believe totems are an objective. Many people just want an easy game and when they can't have it, they cry.

Some survivors see cleansing totems as this impossible task. And I suppose it can be if you just bum rush it with the killer around the same way some survivors approach finishing a generator.

too often like this

Maybe they got that glitched totem spawn that made it impossible to cleanse? That or it could be because they dropped Detective's Hunch or Small Game thinking the totem meta is over

Probably because they have to hunt for a totem against what suddenly becomes the most dangerous stealth killer in the game.
And also Otz mega popularised that build, so it's probably getting really common.

Because it’s a god awful feeling being insta downed while GF is Undetectable without GF needing to use stalk anymore.
But this isn’t just a GF thing. Many survivors give up if they have trouble finding a DH totem once it’s reached 3 stacks.
We’ll be seeing a LOT more survivors giving up once the Undying changes go live and we see Undying + Devour Hope in many more matches.

I can tell you that silent bell + wall hacks wraith with an indoor map offering is significantly more dangerous than ghostface if you can reach 3 stacks.
I do indoor devour hope builds pretty often with stealth killers and wraith is definitely the most lethal. Although ghostface and Myers can reach the 3 stacks faster (particularly hair bow + infectious Myers) once wraith hits it the wall hacks and unlimited stealth carry so much harder and he can actually defend the totem very well as well as secure the 4K much easier.

Okay, I wasn't talking about ridiculously powerful addons or map offerings.

You said “the most dangerous”

i often check where my totems are and often it's like this
most of the time they are just behind a rock or a tree, I never saw them into a spot where survivors can't clease them (personally)
totem meta will never be over.

I didn't know he did, i've been using this build for like a year, never changed it
and yes, ghostface with devour is most definitely the deadliest killer

People give up over everything in this game that would make their match remotely difficult.
This map is too sided for them, they have this perk, they did this thing, etc.....
I've never once had someone disconnect/AFK/Give Up and then go "Sorry, but this map was too much in my favor".
Almost everyone who does these things, is a hypocrite.

He got his Ghostface 50 winstreak with Devour/Nurses/Surge/Discordance. I've already seen it in a few games in the last week, and I'm in a region rarely affected by big content creator.

The "most dangerous stealth killer in DbD" is different to "the most dangerous stealth killer in DbD that cannot be run every game because it requires the use of breathtakingly rare consumables."

Uhhh, ultra rare addons are not ultra rare. You get one or an ebony every bloodweb if you have all the perks on that killer.
You can buy a full bloodweb almost every game if you run BBQ and win your games.

Simple explanation. Ghost face with devourhope is an easy camp + mori basically everything all in one go. You get a speed boost for ten seconds letting you book it across the map to expose another survivor and down another survivor, then at some point you get the ability to kill them if you get 5 tokens in the game (I might be a bit out of date, bare with me.)
Ghost face is quite tedious when it comes to it because you can never tell when he's coming not unless you run SC, which almost everyone does. His gameplay doesn't require much skill at all, it's like a myers but better. You just stare at a survivor until they realize they're fmtcked and with devour hope the chances of survival get worse. Literally no one wants to get mori'd muchless deal with a GF with devour.
Inb4 people say do bones; that's a simple explanation in two ways. Either you got the glitched hex totem meaning it's NEVER GOING DOWN or the hex totem is in a spot NOBODY EVER THINKS TO LOOK. 90% of the time the totem is one of the most obvious spots we all overlook because it's so insignificant even the killer would ignore it if didnt light up in a pink color. See what I mean? I'd probably be one of those people to either give up or look for the totem, find it and get my vss to the hatch.
