Why wasn't dead hard changed in the PTB?
I expected to see the nerf or change in the clown's PTB. It is just one perk.

Keep in mind that it's not gonna be a simple number change.
They have to rewrite it's code in order to make it work with dedicated servers.

Actually it got buffed. It's probably a bug, but you can turn while dead harding.

a lot of things need to be changed about it.
with the way people play it they may as well swap sprint burst in.
it shouldn't make you invincible if you're not moving or next to a wall.
It shouldn't give you a burst of speed if it makes you invincible. sprint burst already gives the speed.
I don't run dead hard often but there's a lot wrong with it and there's probably a lot that I'm missing and don't even know about. The devs even admitted it wasn't designed for dedicated servers and needs a rework.

Just the dash itself. You can literally press e to extend a chase for a really long time and completely ignore the trapper's traps. It can also be used more than once and it takes no skill to use. I am not salty about it, I am just wondering when it will be changed since the devs said they would, surprisingly.

It's definitely a bug, they didn't say anything about Dead Hard in the patch notes and when they already need to rewrite it's coding why would they add another part to it? It just doesn't make sense unless it's a bug.

They named both Dead Hard and Lucky Break as some of the perks that they will review. The others have gotten a change in this PTB, maybe they didn’t finish those other two in time.
there is also possibility they get a small change in the live release, last chaoter there was also one perk that got a change in official release but not in the PTB (can’t remember which one right now..)

How would they rework it though in a way that is balanced though? I can only imagine what BHVR can come up with. If they only make it work better with dedicated servers, it will not fix anything.

That is unfortunately true. I think part of me was just thinking that they only talked about recoding the perk for dedicated servers (which won't do anything lets face it, the servers are so bad), but not doing actual buffs or nerfs to the perk. If I'm remembering correctly.

Weird. Dead Hard to me always meant "Wait three seconds, THEN press M1"

Because it doesn’t need to be nerfed. The perk makes you die more than anything, and your exhausted on the floor 99% of the time thanks to the killers amazing ping.

Seriously though, you use the perk to get just a little bit further than a kill in a chase to get to a pallet or a window.

Boy let me tell you how many times I’ve dead harded to a window and a pallet to not get dedicated yet I end up getting smacked from the other side. Don’t assume things. I’m just saying it’s not an op perk like everyone says. Good survivor squads that love to hold their sprint burst at 99% and know what tile to run to next is what makes sprint burst an overpowered exhaustion perk but not dead hard imo.

yah i rarely see it do any thing use full in long map chases but on indoor maps its use full its kind of a diceroll perk in my opinion

I was just joking. I definitely don't think it is OP and you can't win against it, but I do believe that it is a bit too strong and lame how it works and what it does.

yeah all their art team does is just release skins. They should have all these artists working on the bugs. Clearly since they have enough time to release skins they have enough time to fix bugs. smh these developers.

They indicated Dead Hard is being redone so the implementation is in line with dedicated servers. Right now since it was never updated to match it it'll operate on the assumption the killer has 0 ping (as the killer is the server). I would assume net code and that backend implementation is more difficult than just "wahhh lazy devs." But since you are the expert I'll defer to what you said.

I'd be much happier if they left it as it is. It's one of the very few survivor perks that has a lot of skillful uses and requires timing. Ofc using it for distance is pretty mindless but so are basically all other survivor meta perks, even more I'd say.
It's one of the really strong meta perks that I don't mind at all.

If they were to rework it they would just remove the invincibility and make it just a dash perk so you avoid damage but if you dash into bear traps or into the killers attacks you will get caught and go down. Personally I would make it so if you dead hard you can’t vault or drop pallets for 1.5 seconds

Being able to move in deadhard as cool as it is, was not intended and is considered a bug.

They really need to take away the dash forward portion of dead hard. Survivors in the red ranks predominantly use it for distance. It extends loops and Survivors know they can use it for doing so.
Seconds count for the killer and using Dead Hard for distance to make the window or pallet its losing the killer seconds he can't afford to lose.
Get rid of the dash forward and Dead Hard would be just fine.

I wonder if it'd be a big improvement if Dead Hard didn't gain you any physical distance, but instead gave you endurance for a few seconds (and deep wound if hit.).
It'd be more reliable, arguably stronger (you get the speed boost when hit and killer has the weapon wipe animation) when hit, but can't be used for distance anymore. (No counterplay, although doing this effectively requires a fair bit of skill to know when to use it)
Also no more dead harding over trapper's traps. That irritates me.

But giving another health state is both extremely powerful and gives even more distance lol. I feel like we should give this kind of effect to no mither on protection hits.

If you're using DH and you still get hit through the window then that's not a problem with the perk, you just either failed in using it right, simply didn't make it for enough away from the window in time, or terrible ping.
Sprint Burst is very easy to cut off and its obvious when someone has it, thus making it easy to manage. Its hard to manage someone not being able to make it to a pallet and just pressing E to extend the chase for however longer.

(btw I think it was going to be intentional by how clean the animation was but was too busted for the game and will be played off as a bug and go back to the choppy dh we know)

(oml that may of been the change they were going for and now are gonna say it off as a bug to look like they aren't gonna favor survivor)

DH doesn't need a nerf. It just needs to be made consistent with latency. Same as Huntress hatchets and other stuff that feel like they screw you over due to latency.
Why do you think Dead Hard being usable more than once per match is problematic? It's a exhaustion perk. Should all exhaustion perks only be usable once per match?

like most I'm just annoyed with being hit and exhausted on the floor after using it. Now I just 99 my sprint burst which is better in most cases.

Dead Hard hasn't even been working properly long before the Twins got released. I don't know how many times me and some friends uesd it, got exhausted, only to be hit mid-dash.

I just really don't like the fact that anyone can just press E to extend a chase for an even longer time. If it was solely used for doing, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Dead hard just takes no skill to use to get so much value by pressing a button.
