About the new survey
Since they didn't mention anything about the ridiculous disconnect penalty in the survey that just went out, I made sure to vent my opinion in the final comments section. I encourage others to do the same.

You mean that "ridiculous disconnect penalty" that reduced the amount of people straight out DCing when they didn't like a map or a killer ?
I doubt your complains will be heard, it has it's problems that it needs to fix but overall it's a healthy change for DBD.

I will take on your advice and write an entire essay of why the disconnect penalty was the best thing that happened in this game and give them their well deserved pat on the back

People that get disconnected due to their internet, I feel sorry for you to a certain extent, because I believe everyone should have access to affordable, high quality internet, but it is your personal problem not caused by the game, usually. We need the DC penalty. Survivors will disconnect for any reason. Most of the time when people would disconnect vs me was because they went down early because they played bad. A lot of survivor mains are very entitled people that always want the game to go their way. They don't care if they ruin everyone else's fun when they DC. Why do you think the penalty was even added. Before the penalty, I had someone DC in my game like every other trial. Sometimes multiple would DC as well.

I'm not even completing those untill they start us offering something in-game for it
3 -
You should suggest it on the survey. Then you can do the survey!
10 -
It's 5 minutes dude. It's not that long.
4 -
Did this for the last few Surveys already, some Code for BPs or something like that. Yes, it will most likely be leaked (except if they can make it personal or one-time use, if that is possible), but something for completing it would be a Win-Win for both BHVR and the player.

Can I have a link or can I only do it in game?

Did they ask about the hook struggle again? I am so ready for skill checks on struggle phase like in PH cages tired of smashing buttons/keys damaging my remote/keyboard and also dying because server doesn't register it or my fingers tire out like come on already.

Thank you very much. Appreciate everything you mods do.

That is your opinion. Forcing players who spend good money on this to indulge toxic players who can't play and straight facecamp / tunnel should award no punishment.
They should reward you if you decide to put up with those suckers instead of punishing you for doing what a normal person does, and just ditch the #########.

The only thing wrong with the DC penalty is that it is not long enough.
10 -
The length is fine. During the past days my game actually crashed (which is a rare occasion) and yesterday the game of my friend crashed. This does not happen often, but if this would result in a bigger penalty, it would be really annoying.
3 -
The only problem I have ever had with the DC penalty was due to the dedicated servers. When they were first implemented on PS4 I was constantly being booted from matches for no connection and incurring the penalty. The problem I had was it wasn't my internet connection. It worked perfectly with everything else. It was infuriating receiving disconnect penalties because bhvr had horrible servers. It still happens occasionally but it's a lot better than it used to be.

That is ONE accident. The people quitting matches four times and only getting a 30 minute is not enough.
5 minutes for ONE disconnect is reasonable.
5 -
People disconnected more often for other things including, but not limited too:
- Don't like the Map
- Mori
- Key
- Don't like the Killer
- First to be chased
- Failed a skill check
- Failed a chase
- Hooked first
- Multiple Gens done quickly
- Not enough Gens done
Those DCing due to toxic players were in the minority, and if it is so bad then just take the penalty. It's either better than the toxicity you want to dodge or it isn't.
8 -
Thanks will make sure they know that the disconnect penalty should be longer!
3 -
It's 5 minutes the first time, after that you have to play a certain amount of games to get it back to 5, otherwise it increases to 15 mins and so on.
Has only take them 3 or 4 tries to make it right and not exploitable by hackers.
0 -
Oh please. I have played enough DBD to know survivors DC way more than killers do.
4 -
Honestly, if you disconnect multiple times in one session you deserve to have a 15 minute wait time. Cause just one person DCing from a match automatically puts the killer at a huge disadvantage. And if its the killer that DCs, the whole game ends. I can understand some reasons for DCing from a match, but you should still be willing to accept the consequences for doing so.
4 -
You mean the survivors have a huge disadvantage or? It's nearly impossible to win a game with just 3 people right in the beginning. At least i never lost a game. Most of the time i just let them farm, because it's just unfair.
3 -
LOL I thought, from the OP, that it was an random internet disconnect. If you are disconnecting intentionally, you deserve the penalty. It due to people like you that the penalty exists.
3 -
I don't see the point in the surveys honestly.
The problem has never been making it clear what issues we have with the game are or what we want; the problem has always just been getting it through their stubborn heads enough and them actually taking an action on it.
All the knowledge in the world won't help you if you don't....do anything with it.
0 -
That is what I meant, yeah.
0 -
Wrong. I just see the game for how it is. I don't have some rose tinted glasses view of the game. I know survivors DC way more than killers because I have played the game a lot. I'm not bias just because I campaign for killers. I have played 50/50 pretty much. I just see how strong survivor is, or how entitled most survivor mains are. I also see your point, and I can agree that some killers do DC, but it's not as much as survivors from my personal experience.
3 -
Identity V doesnt outright disconnect you when you have a sudden ping rise. They give you about an entire minute to try and reconnect you to the match before kicking you out and penalizing you.
Getting a 5 minute penalty cuz the router decided to take a break for 10 seconds is ridiculous. They need to punish the people that click on the leave match button.
0 -
you....I hope you mean DS skillcheck and not all skillchecks
0 -
You are right. :) That survey did not include the disconnect penalty. You should (and anyone like you) vote with your wallet and get gone. Good riddance. We don't need people who DC.
2 -
I would 100% agree with this if the DC penalty discriminated between crashes and ragequits.
2 -
There is no way to differenciate that.
If there was a way around, people would just pull the plug, alf-f4 or something like that to prevent the penalty.
0 -
That's factually not true and you clearly don't know what you talk about. When you exit any program there's an exit code that tells what triggered it; if it's an error it tells of what type, if it's a manual exit, if it's a network failure, etc.
0 -
Thank you for the link!! Been meaning to complete it!
1 -
Yeah, network failure. I just pull the plug of my ethernet cable. Then i plug it back in and avoid the penalty.
1 -
I agree the DC penalty is a necessity but atleast make it so it knows when the DC on purpose or when you lag out, having no control over the quality of your internet shouldn't be punished
0 -
It doesn't matter. Crashes are on your end if this keeps happening. One crash is not gonna hurt you with the DC penalty. It is a 5 minute timer. If it is hitting you so bad you are getting an hour or more, you need to take a serious look at your hardware, your installation of the game, or your internet connection.
1 -
I feel it is insane, hackers can lag you out or downright disconnect your session and you get penalized. Hackers also speed hack to hack lag switch as well. And we just have to put up with it is garbage. Just the other day I had Mike Myers tier 1 evil with purple mirror so they couldn't see me at all and they were teabagging me 3 wall separations away and would go the opposite direction I would. None of them had spine chill, premonition or OoO so obviously cheating. This sort of behavior needs to be punished. Trying to actually get a hacker banned or anti cheat needs to be in place. And also get rid of allowing swf with voice. It 200% changes how a match would go otherwise. It's down right cheating. When you have a survivor telling the others get the door to 99 and the rest of you go to the other door and leave that way so when they get ahead of you with sprint burst open the gate and leave that's absolutely cheating and bs. Anyone who says that's not obviously doesn't know the definition of cheating. You say voice is fair fine 2 killers with voice vs 4 survivors with voice. Oh wait the entitled survivor wouldn't think that's fair my bad.
1 -
Yeah, I'll still be around and committing hook suicide - which is worse for the survivors, but that's life.
If there was no disconnect penalty, the killer would've to tunnel me once again and only then I'd disconnect. Sorry not sorry.
