Your thoughts on player satisfaction survey?
I think it's a good first step to listening to player feedback.
But I have my misgivings particularly the upcoming changes and how it was not mentioned in the survey feedback. Even if you don't play the PTB, everyone knows about the upcoming changes and what a contentious issue it is.
Wondering about everyone else's thoughts on the survey + speculation.

I like the idea of the player satisfaction survey's but I feel they make absolutely no difference to the game.
The example I always give is the fact that between tomes 2 and 3 they brought out a survey about the tomes. They basically asked what would we like from future tomes. I would bet my life people weren't asking for 25 charms per tome. Bearing in mind stuff like bloodpoint bonuses and shards were other options.

I thought it was interesting that they mentioned new game modes, especially a competitive one. Because of MMR rolling in I think a ranked mode is necessary

I was frustrated to see far too many questions about "what new stuff can we entice you to spend money on?" and far too few questions about "Hey, please tell us what needs improving with the game."

I doubt the upcoming mmr will be good

I like that they're taking player feedback and I'm not really concerned with them not asking for our opinion on the PTB changes; the forum already exists for that.
I did think it was interesting that they were so focused on horror this time when I honestly don't play DBD for the horror. Like, I love the horror setting, but it also only rarely scares me anymore (pretty much jump scares only). At this point I'm just here for the gameplay. That said, I would embrace them making an effort to make the game more scary if it doesn't hurt gameplay.
I'm imagining a Halloween event or something where they substantially turn down the lights on all maps and give the survivors an optional candle to light for visibility, or something. The red stain would still show up as normal. I would sign up for something like that in a heartbeat :D

That was the one big thing that bugged me about the suvey. "What would you be willing to spend money in the store to have?"
that's not how this game should work. some of the questions were interesting but sadly I don't see many positive things coming from it

Oh you sweet sweet summer child

My favourite question of all surveys ever was if we thought that the last events were special 🤣
That one gave me a real good laugh

Its a good idea but the devs are too stubborn for it to ever work.
I mean look at the old PTB aura changes and how that went live with ZERO feedback being taking into consideration until the bad change went live and blew up in the dev's faces...Like every other bad PTB change....

Knowing the devs (and knowing they have a team for the surveys) they probably read them just for a few laughs and then go about their "we don't care what the community wants" shtick that they got.
6 -
I thought that was funny too.
You know what makes everyone feel special? Knowing they are being heard. Lol

Agreed.
People likely asked for more "Free cosmetics" in that rift survey, considering they have more than enough cosmetics to throw a freebie out every now and again. I don't mean rift grinds or Shards either, I mean free.
They likely warp feedback to suit their own needs. "You guys want free? Here are some crappy charms no one wants...but its free!"

Would you like to see a movie staring George Wendt eating beans?
1 -
LOL. "Would you like to eat beans with George Wendt?"
3 -
I can understand not adding more free cosmetics because that would require too much work from them but free shards and maybe an bloodpoint/xp bonus would've been nice.

It's definitely a step in the right direction that they're taking player feedback. Although in the end it's probably not going to do anything.
There was multiple questions about how scary the game was, and not about balance. Kinda seems weird to me.

I thought it was good for the most part, but it's funny that they stopped adding issues like slugging, hitboxes, etc. All I want is for them to fix hitboxes and then i'll stop complaining. I wish they wouldn't worry so much about putting out new content so frequently and more about issues like the one I mentioned which have been a problem for years now.
1 -
Yeah, this is the unfortunate truth. I would like to believe that they actually look at the answers, but... that's just wishful thinking, or it at least feels that way.

I didn't like it
To many questions were based on spending money and not enough on balancing and new features
4 -
I was looking for the fps issue question but there wasn't one. They probably think they've fixed it when they haven't.
1 -
I think the questions were actually mostly about them making a new, narrative driven game.
The "are you satisfied with the last chapter" was pretty redundant. I always do them but nothing ever changes so
And and course all the money hungry questions. For all the ones about legendary skins its not surprising none were about the price. I mean 10 for skins is already outrageous and the system FREE games with FREE updates use, so they knew they were giving everybody the finger when they started charging 15 for skins where they don't even bother to give them voices or god forbid changing Oni's kanabo or trappers traps. No too much work

The best part of the survey was when it asked me why I like Resident Evil. The Dead By Daylight Player Satisfaction Survey is more interested in my favorite horror series that any of my friends.

Kinda feels like I'm giving feedback to the void, to be honest.
1 -
This first part of the survey was good asked a lot of good questions about thoughts on game changes and improvements etc. The second part was a lot of irrelevant and kinda redundant questions like how often do you play the game with the sound on??? I mean come on lol. Then the last part was just marketing for new cosmetics and merchandise lol so other than the first bit the rest was not really what needed to be on the radar right now lol.

I filled it out properly because I had literally nothing better to do in the 10 minutes to fill it out so...eh.
There were some genuinely good questions and suggestions in the survey but if this is like every other survey they've done, this won't go anywhere. You know, the data that actually DOES hold some merit (actual player feedback) is the stuff that isn't focussed on as much it seems. But hey what do I know, apparently Pig is A-tier and Haddonfield is the 15th most survivor sided map.

Worthless. You've seen how tone deaf Almo is when it comes to balance, what makes you think it'll be of any use?
0 -
Still gotta have some hope or I would have put this game down for good long ago.
0 -
I filled it out while waiting for a match to start.
There were a lot of questions about real world merchandise, and what I thought they should produce. I went with action figures. They didn’t ask whether I would actually buy any of it though, the answer is no, I wouldn’t.

Didn't bother - makes no difference.
1 -
Huge respect that you still have any hope left for this game
0 -
I hope they listen to the players and read the additional feedback that people have left, but I won't get my hopes up, or hold my breath.
0 -
You could probably fill out the 12-minute survey while you wait for a survivor queue.
1 -
MMR will be disabled again after less then 2 months mark my words
1 -
That's quite optimistic lol

Most of the questions were ones they have asked before in previous surveys. It felt kind of repetitive.
0 -
They would be nice if they did anything to improve the game.

I thought it was a well-designed survey, and I'm willing to take it for what it is. It definitely did seem more focused on marketing and, as others have said, some of the questions made me wonder if they're looking down the road to future projects, but there's always a chance it results in me getting content I want at some point.
0 -
Thats what i did. I wish there were more surveys.
1 -
No, no. They´ll read it. Especially the money spending part.
Then next month, they´ll come with a "we heard you!" and introduce us to new ways to spend our cells.

I feel like these questions indicate that we may actually get a story to dbd (not necessarily a story mode) instead of just character lore, and I think that this story will have certain elements of horror, depending on the feedback from the satisfactory survey. If they do implement a story mode, I hope its gonna be a psychological survival horror, and that it really messes with the player's mind
0 -
theyre nice, but i feel they dont really listen to the feedback from them
like, i remember when one of the first surveys came out and it asked if we’d enjoy a battle pass system- all i saw was people hating that idea, yet the archives came out like a couple patches later
0 -
I participated on the survey but with how devs handle feedback most of the time, we'll just have to see and wait on what does end up happening with the game, I know there's gonna be changes with the ranking system soon though. I did like the questions about the merchandise, such as what they could do more with what icons should be put on shirts, hoodies and all sorts of goodies. With the amount of votes they catch up on what's mostly being voted on maybe they could make it happen.
